Warriors' Draymond Green, Moses Moody finish second in All-Star Skills Challenge
After Trayce Jackson-Davis and Brandin Podziemski competed in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, a group of Golden State Warriors were back on the court at Chase Center for Saturday night's All-Star weekend festivities. Starting with the Skills Competition, Draymond Green and Moses Moody represented the Warriors.
While Green and Moody advanced to the finals after an impressive first run, it was the San Antonio Spurs duo of Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama who stole headlines early.
Paul and Wembanyama manipulated the rules of the contest by purposely and quickly missing every jump shot in the competition to speed through the course. The Skills course has multiple stops with three balls at each spot for a jump shot. If you miss three shots in a row per spot, you can advance through the course. So instead of attempting a real jumper, both Wembanyama and Paul flipped their attempts to the side to cut down their times.
Following the Spurs' attempt at a shortcut, the officials disqualified Wembanyama and Paul from the competition.
The Cleveland Cavaliers team of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley met Green and Moody in the final round. In the finals, Mitchella and Mobley cruised through the course, finishing with a time of 1:00.
While Moody blasted through his run, Green struggled with a few chest passes and jumpers, forcing the Warriors team to run out of time on the course, locking up the Skills Challenge for Mitchell and Mobley.
Next up for the Warriors will be Buddy Hield in the 3-point contest.

Should the Boston Celtics take a chance on former Los Angeles Clippers big man Ben Simmons?
Should the Boston Celtics take a chance on former Los Angeles Clippers big man Ben Simmons? The Celtics have been connected to Simmons by recent reporting from the Stein Line, one of several ball clubs reportedly considering kicking the tires on bringing on the controversial vet forward, to the chagrin of a large chunk of the storied ball club's fan base. The reasoning behind that trepidation -- based in their memories of Simmons travails while he was suiting up for the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers before that -- is sound, but a case can be made that the Australian swingman has found his professional footing, and could be the sort of high-upside signing Boston needs to improve their roster for the future. The folks behind the "Green with Envy" YouTube channel put together a clip that took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!
