Denver airport flight delays climb over 600, stormy weather ahead
DENVER (KDVR) — Hundreds of flights in and out of Denver are delayed Saturday amid stormy weather across the Front Range and Eastern Plains, with more showers expected through Memorial Day.

Saturday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day as conditions could impact travelers on the road and in the sky, with chances for severe storms bringing large hail, gusty winds and isolated tornadoes in the afternoon and evening.
The Pinpoint Weather team expects these storms to bring the most impact to areas on the south side of the metro, wrapping up around 7 or 8 p.m.

By around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, flight delays at the Denver International Airport reached 619, according to the online flight tracking tool FlightAware. Southwest, United and SkyWest airlines each have over 100 delayed flights.
Only three flights were canceled, all of which were scheduled to arrive in Denver on United.
The airport is expecting more than 400,000 passengers to travel through DIA for Memorial Day weekend from Thursday to Tuesday.
While hundreds of flights are delayed, many are on time and travelers may want to prepare for potential delays due to weather, traffic or long security lines.

Pinpoint Weather Alert Day Friday for thunderstorms
DENVER (KDVR) — Pinpoint Weather Alert Day on Friday for thunderstorms, before quieter and warmer conditions return for the Denver weather forecast this weekend. Although a few isolated storms will be possible, particularly on Sunday. Overall, dry conditions are forecast for the region.
