Denver weather: Showers ending Monday night ahead of sunshine and a warmup

DENVER (KDVR) — A few showers and thunderstorms will linger in Denver's weather forecast Monday night, ahead of a warmer and drier rest of the workweek. The chance for stronger or even severe thunderstorms this evening will be in southeastern Colorado. This area is under a marginal (level 1 on a scale of 1-5) risk for severe storms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. View the latest Weather Alerts in Denver and across Colorado on FOX31 Showers and a few thunderstorms will linger Monday evening, followed by clearing Monday night. Any thunderstorms are not expected to be severe, but could produce occasional strong wind gusts and lightning. Low temperatures will fall to the upper 30s in the metro, but will fall closer to freezing for areas above 6,000 feet. Because of this, a frost advisory has been issued from 3 to 8 a.m. Temperatures near 32 degrees could lead to frost formation, so make sure to cover any sensitive outdoor vegetation that could be damaged from frost. Sunshine returns to the forecast on Tuesday. Temperatures will be warmer and more seasonal, climbing to the lower 70s. FOX31 Newsletters: Sign up for weather alerts from the Pinpoint Weather team Sunshine and a warming trend dominate the forecast for the rest of the workweek. Wednesday, temperatures will stay seasonal and climb to the mid-70s. Then, high temperatures climb to the upper 70s on Thursday ahead of the low 80s on Friday. A typical springtime pattern sets up for the holiday weekend. Saturday, Sunday and Monday will start off with sunshine, then as high temperatures climb to the 70s, clouds will increase ahead of a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. So, just make sure to stay weather aware if you'll be outside in the afternoon or evening this Memorial Day weekend. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
