Brampton collision sends 5 to hospital, man arrested for impaired driving

Five people are in hospital and a suspected impaired driver is in custody following a multi-vehicle collision in Brampton on Saturday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police and York Regional Police both responded to the crash that occurred at the intersection of Highway 50 and Coleraine Drive, which is on the border of Brampton and Vaughan.
Police said they received the call for the collision around 4:15 p.m.

Peel police said four vehicles were involved and multiple people were injured, including one person in life-threatening condition.
Peel paramedics said they transported two people to the hospital in stable condition.
Meanwhile, York paramedics told CP24 they rushed one person to a local trauma centre and two others to a local hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
Peel police said one man was arrested for impaired operation. They added that all vehicles involved in the crash remained at the scene.

There, they say a 55-year-old man was hit by a Black Top Taxi vehicle, and died after being taken to hospital. Police say the taxi driver suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene.
