Shoppers save £52 on REN, PIXI and more in Lookfantastic's new box
When it comes to beauty boxes, in my eyes, each haul needs to have something for every stage of the beautifying process: a product for hair, skincare, make-up and body, either pre, during or post-shower. Lookfantastic's May box has nailed it for this month, and I think it's the best box since I joined its subscription.
Worth more than £65, the box costs £50 less than that for a one-off order of the May selection itself, £15. However, if you sign up to receive the Lookfantastic box each month for a 12-month period, it drops to £13.
Containing six products, this month's feels like a bumper pack as it not only contains one full sized product, but three - it usually has one full sized product or two. So this felt like a bit of a lottery.
This May box certainly rivals that of Glossybox's 5-product offering. Their box this month contains products to help you enjoy the sunshine, such as the e.l.f. SKIN Suntouchable Whoa Glow SPF 30 and the Anatomicals Make Your Skin Grin Mango & Papaya Body Cream. Costing £13.50 for a one-off purchase, shoppers can also get it for £12.50 when they sign up for 12 months.
Although if you want a bit of a treat, Cult Beauty's The Set for Sun Edit is worth £175 and costs £40. Packed with sun-ready formulas, the box features brands like Supergoop!, Elemis, Philip Kingsley and Ultrasun. While it's more expensive, those who have snagged this set love it, stating it's 'the perfect summer set with all your favourites in it. Loads of minis so the best for your travel kit'.
This month, the Lookfantastic Box has pleasantly surprised me with all of its products. The haul includes three full-size items: REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel 150ml (worth £25), Bedhead After Party Smoothing Cream 100ml, and PIXI Clear Brow Tamer Brow Gel.
It also included First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Fresh Strawberry Body Scrub with 10% AHA 28.3g in a deluxe-size, a LOOKFANTASTIC Cleansing Cloth and a Bondi Sands face tanning serum. Firstly, the REN cleanser is just a really good facial wash that leaves my relatively sensitive skin feeling nice (not irritated), hydrated and most importantly clean.
It's quite fluid but doesn't feel slimy and lathers up enough to feel like it's nourishing. It's great if you are in a rush, as it doesn't require minutes to melt away the dirt (like my usual fave Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm). The facial cloth in the pack is also really nice and soft on the skin, making it a TLC session when taking off the day.
The only thing I didn't quite enjoy about the cleanser is its scent, which is quite herbal. I'm more of a fruity or essential oil person, so that would stop me from repeat purchasing it.
With that in mind, I adore the scent of the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Fresh Strawberry Body Scrub with 10% AHA because, as the name suggests, it smells like strawberries. It makes buffing the bumps on the backs of my arms, knees and other problem spots a much more enjoyable experience.
I feel like I've been launched into a pool of Strawberry Laces with every use. As a scrub paste, it does feel akin to rubbing sand on my skin, but not in a harsh way as it softens when mixed with moisture. Plus, in the few times I have used it, it actually works at reducing the appearance of bumps on the skin.
It's important to moisturise well after use and wear your SPF as the AHA in the solution can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. It also goes without saying this isn't for use on the face - stick to the body only.
The small but mighty Brow Gel from Pixi is another favourite of mine as it gives my brows a really good lift, without being sticky, hard or flaky when dried. Even when running my fingers over my brows to intentionally try and put them out of place they don't budge and easily slot back into the structure I'd created with the brush.
I like the Bedhead After Party Smoothing Cream as it tamed my flyaways and gave my locks a lovely, frizz-ish-free shine. However, as someone who wears their hair curly most of the time, this cream feels more suited to someone who dries their hair smooth. It'll be great when I want a sleek look, though.
The Bondi Sands Pure Self Tanning Sleep Mask is the product I've not yet tested but am excited to. It claims to deliver an overnight tan as you sleep, all whilst nourishing it with hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.

The L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Dermatologist Favourites Set is on sale at LookFantastic and includes a trio of the brand's advanced skincare formulas to brighten and smooth the complexion. The set is a day and night routine and boasts the Revitalift Clinical 12% Pure Vitamin C Brightening Serum 30ml, the Revitalift Clinical SPF 50+ Invisible UV Fluid 50ml, and the Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Deep Anti-Wrinkle Night Serum 30ml. The products in the Revitalift Dermatologist Favourites Set respectively brighten and balance the skin tone, whilst also offering defence against dark spots and discolouration caused by the sun. The anti-wrinkle night serum helps to soften fine lines and enhance the appearance of elasticity in the skin. Anti-ageing brand used by Abbey Clancy giving away £200 worth of freebies this week Love Island winner Toni Laites uses £30 eyelash growth serum that 'works wonders' The L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Deep Anti-Wrinkle Night Serum is currently on offer at Boots for half price at £16, but normally retails for £32 alone. Shoppers can get it as part of the LookFantastic set with two other products for £38. Other skincare sets currently reduced include the Vichy Mineral Daily Hydration Icons Set which has been cut from £29 to just under £15 at Boots. One shopper said: "Full on hydration in a box! Perfect for travelling since the moisturiser is in a nice small bottle and it also contains an spf which is a great addition for a get away. Super light weight and makes a great unisex gift." Another option is the Laneige Hydrate Trio Set which has 20% off at LookFantastic, bringing its price down from £29 to £23. It includes three products ideal for dry skin including the brand's viral Lip Sleeping Mask. Shoppers who are thinking of investing in the Revitalift Dermatologist Favourites Set may want to know that one customer said they found the products took a while to settle on the skin, writing: "I love the vitamin C serum it's great. My skin looks and feels brighter, however you really do need to let the serums soak in before using your moisturiser as it can mix and go a bit flakey." Despite this, another shopper noted how good the set was for mature skin, writing: "I'm in my 60s and love this L'Oréal gift set. Each item does what it says and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and gorgeously hydrated. Can't go wrong with this." Another happy reviewer said: "Absolutely great products from L'Oréal, day serum soaks into skin beautifully and factor 50 liquid is a must have in any skin routine. Hands down great purchase and will definitely recommend and buy again."

Joy Reid's substack following climbs after MSNBC firing
On Monday, the former Reid Out host announced that she was a 'Substack Bestseller with thousands of paid subscribers.' While it's unclear how many of her 168,000-plus followers shell out the $8 monthly subscription fee, even a small percentage of paying customers would potentially net Reid six figures per month. 'At the start of the year, I had a grand total of nine thousand subscribers, who mostly came to this page (then called "And another thing with Joy") to read my occasional posts, and to live chat with me as I sat on set at 30 Rock during MSNBC special coverage,' Reid wrote on Monday. 'That modest growth ended abruptly in January, when my then boss, the MSNBC president, told me I wasn't allowed to have a Substack. Other paid plans for her Substack musings include an annual subscription for $80 and a yearly 'Founding Member' subscription for $240. Substack takes a 10 percent commission from each of its authors - as well as a four percent surcharge per payment - leaving Reid with plenty left over to pay the bills. Even if just 5,000 of her subscribers opted for the yearly plan, she would still be raking in a cool $360,000 a year. That doesn't account for any revenue earned from her YouTube series, The Joy Reid Show, which launched on June 9 and counts more than 243,000 subscribers. Former CNN anchor Jim Acosta, for example, has amassed just over 300,000 subscribers on Substack after his resignation from the network in early January. Reid, who rankled MSNBC brass with her extreme online rants, was fired in late February by the network's new boss. An insider at MSNBC told Politico that her controversial social media posts - including shamed Latino Republican's for voting for Trump and claiming the media's preoccupation with Russia's invasion of Ukraine was motivated by the victims being 'white and largely Christian' - 'gave the Standards Department heartburn.' In January, Reid compared President Donald Trump to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler on Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Love Island winner Toni Laites uses £30 eyelash growth serum that 'works wonders'
The lash growth serum has been hailed as 'phenomenal' with one shopper saying they've ditched their falsies Shoppers have been raving about an eyelash serum used by Love Island winner Toni Laites that one reviewer said gives 'beautiful long thick lashes.' The Glow For It Last Growth Serum retails for £30 and has gained over 1.300 reviews on the brand's website. Love Island winner Toni is known for her glamorous looks, and it seems beauty fans have also been rushing to try the serum, with one commenting: "I've been using this serum religiously for about two and a half years now and I've got to say it's amazing. No purple lines, no orbital fat loss, just beautiful long thick lashes." The Glow For It Last Growth Serum contains chamomile extract to sooth the follicles, green tea extract for its antioxidant properties, and clover flower extract for its ability to reduce lash loss. Anti-ageing brand used by Abbey Clancy giving away £200 worth of freebies this week Liz Earle fans bag over £300 worth of free items as beauty brand launches advent calendar Shoppers should start to see results within two to 12 weeks and the serum is vegan and cruelty free. It works by supporting the lashes natural growth cycle, while the multi-peptide formula stimulates new lashes to grow whilst also strengthening existing ones. Other lash serums currently available include the UKLASH Eyelash Serum that helps to improve the appearance of short and sparse hairs. It's currently been cut from £38 down to £30 at Boots. One shopper said: "The longest lashes I've ever had." Another option is the RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum which is £27 from LookFantastic. One reviewer said: "I really rate this serum, it worked wonders on my eyelashes." Also at LookFantastic is the RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Serum that costs £59 and conditions lashes to give a lengthening effect. One person commented: "First time trying something like this and it's so amazing and lightweight. I barely notice I have it on and have noticed a positive difference in my lashes." For those who are thinking of snapping up the Glow For It Last Growth Serum, it's worth noting that one customer said: "Made my skin appear darker on eye lid where I was applying it. A few days after I stopped it the darker line disappeared." Another wrote: "Started smelling after 3 weeks, no result seen. Stopped using cause of the smell." Despite this, other customers said they'd noticed a real difference after using the product including one who commented: "My lashes are looking like they never have before. 8-12 weeks and you can see my before and after. Obsessed! Long, thick and healthier lashes. No more need for lash lifts or falsies. Woo! Especially being a hayfever girly." A further reviewer agreed, writing: "I've tried other lash serums but none compare to glow for it! I've been using it for about 2 years now and it's phenomenal. I can notice a very clear difference when I'm using it compared to when I'm not (I stopped using it for a couple months and my lashes were nowhere near as thick and long after a couple months without it)."
