Brentford agree deal with Bournemouth for forward Dango Ouattara

Brentford have agreed a deal with Bournemouth for forward Dango Ouattara.
The deal is worth in the region of £35million with £5m in add-ons, which would be a club record for the west London side. Ouattara has been authorised to travel for a medical on Friday.
The 23-year-old pushed for the move as he has not been happy at the south-coast club, not feeling the trust of head coach Andoni Iraola. Brentford have convinced him to be a replacement for their previous forward Bryan Mbeumo who left for Manchester United this summer.

Ouattara joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Ligue 1 side Lorient in a deal worth £20million ($26.8m). During his two-and-a-half seasons at the Vitality Stadium, the versatile forward has scored 11 goals and provided nine assists in 88 games.
Capable of playing on either wing as well as up front, Ouattara scored seven goals and provided four assists last season to help Andoni Iraola's side finish ninth in the Premier League.
Ouattara has also scored ten goals in 30 games for the Burkina Faso national team.
Bournemouth have already had several key departures this window with Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Ilias Zabarnyi all leaving the club this summer.

Nicolas Jackson to be left out of Chelsea squad for Crystal Palace game

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed Nicolas Jackson will not be involved in the club's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Sunday amid uncertainty over his future. Jackson, his representatives and Chelsea are exploring a possible move away from Stamford Bridge in the final weeks of the transfer window. Advertisement 'He is training with us but he is not going to be involved,' said Maresca at a news conference on Friday. Asked if he expected Jackson to leave, Maresca said: 'You know the situation already. The window is open, he can leave and we (will) see.' Jackson was also left out of the squad for pre-season wins against Bayer Leverkusen and Milan as potential moves away are explored. As reported in The Transfer DealSheet, sources at Chelsea say Jackson will be reintegrated into the squad if a move does not materialise. The club are not desperate to sell him, but recognise he might want to be the lead striker elsewhere, and are open to sanctioning a sale if the proposal satisfies all parties. The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Villareal in summer 2023, started 28 of the 31 Premier League games for which he was available last term. However, he faces competition from new signings Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. 'When the transfer window is open, unfortunately or fortunately, anything can happen,' Maresca said last Thursday. 'This also involves Nico's situation. Two other strikers arrived, both of them were in the USA, Joao and Liam, so we will see what happens.' The Athletic also reported earlier on Friday that German champions Bayern Munich were in negotiations with Chelsea over a deal for forward Christopher Nkunku. The 27-year-old only made nine Premier League starts last season and, like Jackson, is exploring a move away from the club. Chelsea host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday at 2pm. Hugo Ekitike does something only Darwin Nunez had done before on Liverpool debut

Hugo Ekitike became just the second player to register a goal and an assist on his Premier League debut as he continued his impressive start to life at Liverpool on Friday. The summer signing from Eintracht Frankfurt opened his Reds account in the Community Shield last weekend and he followed that up with the opening goal against Bournemouth at Anfield. In the second half he claimed an assist, as his pass was collected by Dominik Szoboszlai, who did most of the hard work as he placed a neat finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. The only other Liverpool player in Liverpool's history to claim a goal and an assist on their Premier League debut is Darwin Nunez, who achieved the feat against Fulham at Craven Cottage in 2022. READ MORE: Liverpool stance on Marc Guehi transfer after signing Giovanni Leoni READ MORE: Premier League explains controversial handball decision after Liverpool left fuming Ekitike's double contribution came after Liverpool announced another summer signing in the lead-up to the game against Bournemouth, as young Italian defender Giovanni Leoni joined from Parma. Liverpool new boy Leoni, who was in the stands at Anfield for the Reds' Premier League opener, said he simply could not say no to a move to Merseyside when he found out about the club's interest in signing him. 'I'm very happy to be here. It's a really great sensation and I'm honoured to be here,' Leoni told club media. 'Yeah, a lot [of excitement]. I'm so honoured. I was very happy [about Liverpool being interested]. When I saw this I said, 'Wow, this is crazy.' I'm very happy.' He added: "It's one of the best clubs in the world. It's not possible to say no to this club. Yes, [it was] easy – because it's one of the best clubs in the world. I didn't say no!" Liverpool is still keen to sign Marc Guehi before the summer transfer window closes after completing a deal to sign Leoni. Leoni has signed a six-year deal at Anfield and will go straight into the first-team set-up, despite being just 18 years old. He takes the number of center-backs in Arne Slot's squad back up to four, following the departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayern Munich at the beginning of July. There remains some uncertainty surrounding the position though, with Ibrahima Konate's current contract due to expire next summer, and uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Joe Gomez, who has not appeared in a competitive game for Liverpool since February. The addition of Guehi alongside Leoni would add some stability to Liverpool's defense, and the club is expected to accelerate its pursuit of the England international as the end of the window approaches.
