21 wanted suspects arrested in joint warrant round-up
The following individuals were arrested during the warrant round-up, according to EPCSO:
EPCSO said this latest operation was carried out in partnership with the offices of Constable Frank Almada, Precinct 1; Constable Hector Bernal, Precinct 3; Constable Javier Garcia, Precinct 6; and Constable Angie Summers, Precinct 7.
'Our priority is holding individuals with outstanding warrants accountable,' Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. 'I'm grateful for the continued dedication of the team at the Sheriff's Office, and I appreciate the Constables who joined us in making this second operation a success.'
EPCSO said the Joint Warrant Initiative was launched last month as a coordinated approach to reduce the number of outstanding criminal warrants across El Paso County.
The first operation resulted in 21 arrests, and Sheriff Ugarte said that these efforts will continue in the weeks and months ahead.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 44-year-old man is dead after he was partially ejected from his vehicle after hitting a tree on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 9, in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD). 1 person seriously hurt when vehicle hits tree in Northeast El Paso Shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, officers were called to a traffic crash at the intersection of Dyer and Sanders. Officers discovered that Antonio De Las Cruz, 44, had been partially ejected after hitting a tree. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, according to EPPD. The Special Traffic Investigations unit was called to assist, and the initial investigation revealed that De La Cruz was stopped behind a vehicle on Dyer for an unknown reason, according to EPPD. EPPD said De La Cruz then drove around the car while the traffic signal was still red and made a left turn onto Sanders, striking a tree. A contributing factor in this collision may be alcohol, police said. This is the 36th traffic fatality compared to 39 this same time last year, according to EPPD. Sheriff's Office: Man arrested for DWI after attempting to flee in far East El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 34-year-old man was recently arrested for drunk driving after he attempted to flee from a traffic stop in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO). EPCSO said Joe Emilio Molinar, 34, was arrested on Saturday, July 26, and charged with driving while intoxicated, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance with a total bond of $7,000. He was then booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. At around 3:30 a.m. on July 26, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2021 Honda Civic near Pellicano Drive and Darrington Road after observing the vehicle speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign, according to EPCSO. The Sheriff's Office said that the driver, later identified as Molinar, refused to yield and drove off at a high rate of speed through a residential area, disregarding multiple stop signs. Deputies later located the vehicle parked between two trucks in an apparent attempt to hide. Molinar, who had clear signs of intoxication, was located and taken into custody without further incident, according to EPCSO. 'Driving under the influence and running from law enforcement is reckless and dangerous. We have zero tolerance for it,'Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said.
