Chelsea are understood to be open to offers for Noni Madueke. The England winger joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 and scored 11 goals in all competitions last season but the club are willing to sacrifice him alongside Christopher Nkunku and João Félix, who is a target for Benfica, as they look to freshen up their attacking options this summer. They remain in contact with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike but his price tag of £84m is prohibitive at this stage. Madueke was a regular started for manager Enzo Maresca last season — making 32 Premier League appearances — but he did not always stay in his manager's good books. In August, after Madueke scored in the Conference League win over Servette, Maresca told the 23-year-old England international that he must train better. Then, in December, Madueke's levels again dropped in training and so Maresca retaliated by dropping him to the bench for their game against Aston Villa. He had started their last 11 Premier League matches but was a substitute for that victory, once more told by his boss that coasting through sessions at Cobham will not be tolerated. Later that month, the forward was dropped for the matchday completely for their Boxing Day defeat by Fulham, a game in which Maresca named two goalkeepers on his bench as if to prove a point. Nkunku stayed at Stamford Bridge after a deal for the French forward to join Bayern Munich in January fell through. Nkunku arrived from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52.7m in 2023 and scored 14 goals last season but only three in the league. He has been tried in a variety of attacking roles but has failed to impress. Felix, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Milan, first joined Chelsea in 2023 on loan before later joining Barcelona only to move back to the Blues in a permanent £45m deal. But by February, he had fallen out of favour with Maresca and joined AC Milan on loan managing just three goals in 21 games.

Sam Thompson raises more than £100,000 on first day of Soccer Aid challenge
On Monday, the 32-year-old set off from Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium in London, the location of last year's charity match in aid of Unicef, and ran a full marathon before cycling a further 23 miles to reach Milton Keynes. He will end the challenge at Manchester United's Old Trafford, which will host the 2025 game that Thompson is due to play in. Speaking at the day one finish line in Buckinghamshire, Thompson said: 'Day one was terrifying. I can't believe I did it. I was so worried that no one would turn up for me, but as I started to approach the stadium and the finish line, I could hear the cheering. It means so much to me that people turned out. 'It's been tougher than I could have imagined and there were points when I was really struggling. Thompson is taking on the challenge to raise money for Unicef's work to help children grow up safe and healthy. Chelsea accelerate efforts to sign Arsenal & Liverpool target 'in recent hours'
Chelsea have ramped up their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in the last few hours, according to reports in France. Ekitike joined Eintracht on a permanent basis from PSG last summer and the 22-year-old hit new heights across an eye-catching Bundesliga campaign, notching 15 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances. The forward earned himself plenty of admirers with his goalscoring exploits in his first full season in German football and speculation has been mounting that a big-money move could be around the corner. Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping close tabs on Ekitike's progress and both clubs are believed to have made initial enquiries over a proposed bid for the Frenchman. But according to L'Equipe, Chelsea have attempted to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by accelerating their efforts to sign the attacker 'in recent hours'. The report claims Ekitike is considering his future and mulling over his options after being ruled out of France's European Under-21 Championship campaign this with a back problem. It's understood Eintracht are aware of the strong interest in Ekitike and have responded by slapping a £60million price tag on their prized possession. Ekitike's current contract in Frankfurt runs through to June 2029. Eintracht would be in line to make a significant profit from the sale of Ekitike considering they signed the striker from PSG for a fee of around £14m last summer. In a recent interview with Sport1, Eintracht's sporting director, Markus Krosche, confirmed Ekitike could be allowed to leave if the club's demands are met by a potential suitor. 'He's one of the most interesting strikers on the European market,' Krosche said. 'Hugo has to decide that [his future]. I'm glad we have him. 'If he decides otherwise, that's our belief: if a player develops faster than us, then we let him go – as long as our demands are met.' More Trending Chelsea are targeting Ekitike in addition to Ipswich striker Liam Delap, who is set to be announced by the west London giants imminently. Delap has agreed to a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge and joins the Europa Conference League winners for a fee of £30million.
