
Lexin Reports Q2 2025 Financial Results: Revenue Hits RMB 3.59B with 15.6% QoQ Growth; Profit Rises for 5 Straight Quarters as Scenario-Based Transactions Surge to Spur Consumption
In terms of scale, the company's transaction volume in the second quarter was RMB 52.86 billion ; the total loans under management was RMB 105.78 billion ; and the number of users reached 236 million.
In terms of asset quality, risk indicators have continued to improve for 4 consecutive quarters: the FPD7(First-payment default) of newly added assets in Q2 decreased by approximately 5% QoQ; the delinquency rate of all assets dropped by about 2% QoQ; and the 90+ day non-performing loan ratio of all assets fell by around 6% QoQ, with asset quality improving quarter by quarter.
In terms of financial indicators, the company's profit margin (annualized net profit / loan balance) in the second quarter increased by 34 basis points compared to the first quarter, with consecutive quarterly growth of more than 20 basis points for multiple quarters.
Lexin has always placed great emphasis on shareholder returns. With the approval of the Board of Directors, the ex-dividend and ex-rights date for the first half of the year is set for August 26. A cash dividend of US$0.194 per ADS will be distributed on September 15, representing approximately 25% of the first-half net profit. This payout is roughly 76% higher than the US$0.11 per ADS dividend for the second half of 2024. Starting in the second half of this year, the dividend payout ratio will be raised from 25% to 30% of net profit. In July, Lexin also launched a US$60 million share-repurchase program. Ecological Business Gains Momentum as Unique Advantages Unlock New Growth

In Q2, Fenqile Mall comprehensively upgraded its supply chain, onboarded numerous well-known brand merchants, and strengthened enhanced offerings such as "Zhenpin Hui" and "Factory Store" to meet users' diversified needs. High-quality consumption scenarios combined with major promotion activities drove the GMV of Fenqile Mall to rise continuously. Especially during the "6·18" period, GMV increased by 139% YoY, effectively boosting consumption.
Small and micro enterprises are crucial to economic and social development and people's livelihoods. Inclusive finance plays an important role in solving the funding difficulties of small and micro enterprises and enhancing their resilience. In May 2025, the State Financial Regulatory Administration issued a document requiring inclusive finance to "deepen the financing coordination mechanism" and "accurately match financing needs". During the quarter, Fenqile Inclusive, a subsidiary of Lexin, upgraded its products and services using big data and AI large models, continuously optimized user experience, improved the accuracy of credit matching, and effectively avoided misrejection issues caused by seasonal and cyclical business fluctuations. Adjusted EBITDA 1 of $426 million, up $43 million or 11.2%, with a margin 1 of 9.2%, up from 8.3%. Operational improvements, primarily driven by ongoing efficiency initiatives stemming from our recent capital investments, disciplined execution on customer fulfillment, and proactive cost management, supported margin enhancement; In our domestic markets, higher selling prices implemented across key product categories to mitigate inflationary pressures preserved margin performance; In our export markets, the favourable relation between the international cheese and dairy ingredient market prices and the cost of milk as raw material had a positive impact on our results; Sales volumes and favourable product mix were significant drivers; Unfavourable US dairy commodity market conditions 3 compared to the same quarter last fiscal year; and Lower selling, general, and administrative costs. Net earnings totalled $165 million or $0.40 per share (basic and diluted), up $23 million or $0.07 per share, respectively. The increase in net earnings was mainly due to higher adjusted EBITDA 1 and a gain on hyperinflation (Argentina net monetary position) 3 as compared to a loss for the same quarter last fiscal year, partially offset by higher financial charges, restructuring costs, and depreciation and amortization. The increase in EPS also reflects common shares purchased under our normal course issuer bid (NCIB). Adjusted net earnings 1 totalled $184 million or $0.44 per share 1 (basic and diluted), up $17 million or $0.05 per share, respectively. The increase in adjusted EPS 1 is mainly due to higher net earnings and reflects common shares purchased under our NCIB. Net cash from operating activities totalled $317 million, up $126 million or 66%. The increase is mainly due to higher adjusted EBITDA 1 and lower working capital usage. The Company returned capital to shareholders through the purchase of approximately 4.7 million common shares for a total purchase price of $123 million and the payment of dividends totalling $79 million. Capital expenditures totalled $65 million and the balance of operating cash was directed primarily toward the reduction of net debt 2. In our everyday cheese category, Armstrong became the national category leader, reflecting strong brand momentum and effective commercial execution. INTERNATIONAL SECTOR Revenues Revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $865 million, down $139 million or 13.8%, as compared to $1.004 billion for the same quarter last fiscal year. Our sales volumes were lower compared to the same quarter last fiscal year, in both our domestic and export markets. The decrease in domestic sales volumes is mainly due to the divestitures of our two fresh milk plants and the King Island Dairy business in our Dairy Division (Australia). Our export sales volumes decreased in line with our strategy to reposition sales volumes toward our domestic markets. Higher international cheese and dairy ingredient market prices for our products in our export markets had a favourable impact. The non-cash negative impact due to the application of hyperinflation accounting 2,3 to the revenues of the Dairy Division (Argentina) was unfavorable by $17 million as compared to the same quarter last fiscal year. The conversion of Australian dollars to Canadian dollars had an unfavourable impact. Adjusted EBITDA Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $55 million, up $10 million or 22.2%, as compared to $45 million for the same quarter last fiscal year. Adjusted EBITDA margin was 6.4%, up from 4.5%. The favourable relation between the international cheese and dairy ingredient market prices and the cost of milk as raw material had a positive impact on our results. In Australia, we benefited from lower milk costs. In Argentina, milk costs were higher, however results reflected a more favourable alignment between inflation and the devaluation of the Argentine peso. Reduced milk availability in Australia, due mostly to ongoing drought conditions in key milk-producing regions, negatively impacted efficiencies and the absorption of fixed costs. This impact was mitigated by our product mix optimization strategy. The non-cash negative impact due to the application of hyperinflation accounting 2,3 to the results of the Dairy Division (Argentina) was unfavorable by $5 million as compared to the same quarter last fiscal year. Other elements Depreciation and amortization for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $30 million, up $1 million, as compared to $29 million for the comparative quarter last fiscal year. Gain on hyperinflation (Argentina net monetary position) 3 for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $1 million ($10 million loss in the first quarter of fiscal 2025). EUROPE SECTOR Revenues Revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $317 million, up $53 million or 20.1%, as compared to $264 million for the same quarter last fiscal year. Revenues increased due to higher selling prices implemented to mitigate inflationary pressures and the higher cost of milk and other input costs. Revenues also increased due to higher sales volumes. Bulk cheese sales volumes increased, as a result of higher milk intake, at higher selling prices. Dairy ingredients sales volumes also increased at higher selling prices. These increases were partially offset by lower retail market segment sales volumes in non-cheese categories. The conversion of the British pound sterling to the Canadian dollar had a favourable impact. Adjusted EBITDA Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $30 million, up $7 million or 30.4%, as compared to $23 million for the same quarter last fiscal year. Adjusted EBITDA margin was 9.5%, up from 8.7%. The improved performance was mainly driven by the more favourable relation between selling prices and input costs, which supported overall margin recovery, partially offsetting the impact of an unfavourable product mix. The conversion of the British pound sterling to the Canadian dollar had a favourable impact. Other elements Depreciation and amortization for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $27 million, flat, as compared to the same quarter last fiscal year. Restructuring costs for the first quarter of fiscal 2026 totalled $6 million and comprised severance costs in connection to our previously announced decision to stop manufacturing certain functional dairy ingredient products by mid-fiscal 2026 as well as in relation to the optimization of selling, general, and administrative costs. There were no restructuring costs during the first quarter of fiscal 2025. FY26 OUTLOOK We remain confident in the long-term outlook for the business and its ability to navigate current macroeconomic challenges. The direct impact of trade-related tariffs on our business is expected to be limited and manageable at this time. However, we anticipate that the evolving global trade landscape and consumer sentiment may impact consumer spending patterns in the short term. We expect organic sales growth, notably in our USA Sector, with a more balanced contribution of volumes and price, supported by growth in key retail categories, expansion with major food distributors, the phased ramp-up of our Franklin, Wisconsin, facility, higher brand support, and innovation. We expect further contribution from optimization and capacity expansion initiatives, notably in our USA Sector, which is expected to drive operating margin expansion. The previously announced closure of the Green Bay, Wisconsin, facility is expected to occur by the end of the third quarter. We expect US dairy markets to be driven by milk supply and dairy demand, with continued volatility in the short to medium term. On June 1, 2025, the new milk pricing formula approved for all federal milk marketing orders in which we operate in the US became effective. This change is expected to positively impact our USA Sector results. We anticipate continued strong performance in the Canada Sector, supported by ongoing operational efficiencies, favourable volume and mix trends, targeted commercial initiatives, and disciplined cost reduction efforts. The International Sector is expected to benefit from product mix optimization and cost reductions in Australia, despite higher milk costs driven by competitive market dynamics, while Argentina is expected to see increased milk availability, lower milk costs, a stronger export business, and a more stable relationship between currency and inflation. The Europe Sector is expected to see an improved performance supported by margin recovery initiatives, including disciplined pricing and volume acceleration, the maturation of previously launched initiatives, and continued focus on cost efficiency. We expect to benefit from the recent improvements in global dairy ingredient market prices, including firmer pricing across key commodity categories in the first half of the fiscal year. We anticipate our selling, general, and administrative expenses to be impacted by higher labour costs, including wage increases, and higher planned advertising and promotional spending. We expect to partially mitigate these higher costs through the ongoing optimization of our selling, general, and administrative costs and structural simplifications. We will continue to focus on improving our working capital and generating strong cash flow from operations. We expect capital expenditures totalling approximately $360 million in fiscal 2026. We expect to continue repurchasing shares under our NCIB program given the strength of our balance sheet and our expected strong cash flow from operations. NON-GAAP MEASURES We report our financial results in accordance with GAAP and generally assess our financial performance using financial measures that are prepared using GAAP. However, this news release also refers to certain non-GAAP and other financial measures which do not have a standardized meaning under GAAP, and are described in this section. This AI Stock Just Hit a 52-Week Low -- Here's Why That's an Opportunity
Key Points Confluent recently hit a 52-week low, as investors were not impressed by management's latest guidance. However, the company is growing at a brisk pace and building a solid revenue pipeline. An increase in AI-focused workloads should pave the way for stronger growth at Confluent, and its valuation makes it worth buying right now. 10 stocks we like better than Confluent › Data streaming platform provider Confluent (NASDAQ: CFLT) saw a sharp drop in its share price this year, which was blamed on slowing growth. Things went from bad to worse following the release of the company's latest quarterly results. Confluent reported its second-quarter results on July 30. The stock shed almost a third of its value the following day and also touched a 52-week low on Aug. 1. Investors were quick to press the panic button despite Confluent's better-than-expected results, as management's guidance didn't inspire much confidence. Savvy investors looking to buy a potential artificial intelligence (AI) winner should consider using Confluent's dip as a buying opportunity. Here's why. AI could give Confluent a nice shot in the arm Confluent reported a 20% year-over-year increase in its revenue in the previous quarter to just over $282 million. Its earnings growth was even more impressive at 50%, to $0.09 per share. Confluent management remarked on the latest earnings conference call that it is navigating a tight spending environment. The company, which operates a cloud-based data streaming platform to store, access, connect, and manage customers' data and applications in real time, says that its growth was hindered by customers' "optimization" initiatives. According to CEO Jay Kreps: In Q2, our larger customers continued their optimization efforts and adopted new use cases in a more measured pace. While we are confident that this elevated level of optimization will eventually subside, our outlook for the second half assumes consumption growth notably below what we've seen in the same period of prior years. Unsurprisingly, investors were spooked by this forecast of slowing sales growth in the second half of the year. But at the same time, one shouldn't forget that Confluent has slightly increased the lower end of its 2025 revenue guidance. What's more, the company's future revenue pipeline is improving at a brisk pace despite the controlled spending by customers. This is evident from the 31% increase in its remaining performance obligations (RPO) in the previous quarter. RPO is the total value of a company's unfulfilled contracts at the end of a period. This metric grew at a much faster pace than the growth in Confluent's top line. That's good news, as the faster growth in Confluent's revenue backlog should allow it to eventually increase its growth rate in the future once it starts fulfilling the contracts that it's signing now. Meanwhile, the company expects a big boost from the adoption of AI services in the cloud. Confluent says that it saw an increase in the number of customers using its data streaming platform to support real-time AI workloads such as agentic AI applications, code generation, content creation, chatbots, and others. In fact, Confluent says that it expects "production AI use cases to grow 10x across a few hundred customers" in 2025. The company cited several examples where customers around the globe are using its data streaming solutions to build AI agents capable of handling real-time queries. Looking ahead, there's a good chance that more customers could flock to Confluent's cloud-based platform, thanks to the sharp increase that it's predicting in real-time AI use cases. This explains why analysts expect an improvement in Confluent's earnings growth rate in the future. Data by YCharts. The valuation makes the stock an attractive buy The sharp drop in Confluent's stock price this year explains why it is trading at an attractive 5 times sales right now, less than half its average five-year sales multiple. Moreover, Confluent stock trades at a discount to the U.S. technology sector's average sales multiple of 8.4. Investors can consider buying Confluent at this discounted multiple, since it is clocking a healthy revenue growth rate despite controlled customer spending. Analysts also expect its top line to grow in the mid-teens for the next couple of years, though don't be surprised to see Confluent doing better than that, given the pace at which its revenue backlog is improving. That could pave the way for healthy stock price upside. Even if Confluent's revenue increases to $1.57 billion in 2027 (as per the previous chart) and it trades at even 7 times sales at that time (a discount to the U.S. technology sector's average), its market cap could hit $11 billion. That would be an increase of 86% from current levels. So, investors looking for an AI stock that's cheap and is trading at an attractive valuation should take a closer look at Confluent, as it seems capable of stepping on the gas in the long run. Amazon's integrated ecosystem is a competitive moat. 10 stocks we like better than Amazon › Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) is one of the most important businesses of the internet era -- and arguably still not clearly understood. Many still view it as an e-commerce company. But beneath the surface, Amazon has quietly built up a multiengine empire, spanning cloud computing, advertising, and entertainment. This article will explore one of Amazon's underappreciated strengths and one real risk that long-term investors should keep in mind. Red flag: E-commerce growth is slowing, and margins remain thin For years, Amazon's e-commerce has been its bedrock for growth, slowly capturing market share from offline retailers and other incumbents. It has been wildly successful, making it a giant of its own. But here's the thing: For all its dominance, Amazon's core e-commerce business is maturing. Worse, it is increasingly facing pressure on multiple fronts, and that's reflected in its recent numbers. In the second quarter of 2025, North America segment sales rose just 8% year over year while the international segment's revenue grew by only 5%. That's a far cry from the breakneck growth rates of the 2010s. More concerning, the company's core commerce revenue (online sales, physical stores, and third-party services) grew at around 5% to 6%, much lower than the numbers above after excluding advertising and subscription revenue. And despite its gigantic size -- net sales reached $126 billion in the first quarter of 2025 -- it had an operating profit of just $6.8 billion, or 5.4%. That margin might be acceptable for a grocery store. But for a tech giant with massive infrastructure costs, it limits how much the retail engine can contribute to long-term earnings power. To make things tougher, Amazon faces growing competition from low-cost, well-positioned challengers like Temu and Shein. These newcomers are leveraging ultra-lean supply chains and social virality to win younger consumers -- and they're increasingly encroaching on categories like apparel, beauty, and home goods. The silver lining? Amazon isn't standing still. Its logistics network is becoming more efficient, with faster delivery speeds and lower costs per package. It's also pushing hard on its own low-cost e-commerce (Amazon Haul) to overcome Temu and Shein. Still, investors will want to see Amazon prove it can sustain even modest growth -- and expand margins over time for its commerce segment. Otherwise, this red flag could remain a drag on the stock, even as other business lines post better numbers. Green flag: Amazon's advertising business is quietly exploding If retail is showing signs of fatigue, advertising might be Amazon's next growth engine. In Q1 2025, Amazon's ad revenue jumped 18% year over year to $13.9 billion, making it one of the largest digital advertising platforms globally. Moreover, advertising is a high-margin business, meaning it may eventually contribute more to the bottom line than the retail business. What makes Amazon ads unique isn't just impressions. It's intent. Amazon reaches customers at the moment they're ready to buy -- giving it higher conversion rates than search or social platforms. And with its massive trove of first-party purchase data, Amazon offers brands a powerful platform for targeted marketing. But advertising doesn't end on Amazon's shopping sites. The recent move to introduce ads in Prime Video has opened a new chapter. With hundreds of millions of global Prime members, Amazon now runs one of the largest ad-supported streaming platforms in the world. Even Google and Meta Platforms can't fully match this. That's because Amazon owns the entire customer journey -- from ad exposure, to product search, to purchase -- all within its ecosystem.
