'Block pirated versions of ‘Coolie', orders Madras High Court; interim injunction issued
The Madras High Court has reportedly restrained 36 Internet Service Providers across India from allowing 'rogue websites' to stream pirated versions of 'Coolie'.
As reported by The Hindu, Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy issued the interim injunction on Monday, just days before the Rajinikanth-starrer hits theatres on August 14, 2025.
The order came after the production house which is the Sun TV Network Limited, filed a civil suit citing the risk of copyright infringement. The court directed the ISPs to block not only existing piracy-linked sites but also any that might emerge in the future attempting to host the film illegally. The judge stressed that failing to act would cause 'irreparable injury' to the producers.
Coolie - Official Telugu Trailer
Anticipation peaks despite ticket price shock
Reportedly, 'Coolie' has already shattered pre-release booking records in both domestic and overseas markets.
In Bengaluru the ticket prices have reportedly soared to Rs 2,000 for premium seats and this has stirred heated discussions among fans.
The film, boasting an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir, is set for a massive opening.
Director teases mystery over storyline
Interestingly, 'Coolie's storyline has become a hotbed of fan theories online. And this is not the first time for a Loki film.
Many speculate that the film is a sci-fi action drama involving time travel.
Addressing this at the Telugu pre-release event, director Lokesh Kanagaraj offered a playful but guarded response: 'Yes, I used to read all those things. It surprises me as well. Just now I was discussing with Sathyaraj sir — everyone is calling it a sci-fi film and a time travel film. People are going to be surprised when they see what the film is all about.'
Meanwhile, in the trailer there are several hints which point to the fact that there could be some sci-fi elements in it. Also there are speculations on whether the film will be part of LCU.

Now, there's a lot more than Kannada films, say Kushee Ravi
Four months after its release, Aiyana Mane continues to earn Kushee Ravi 's glowing praise for her portrayal of Jaaji. The success of the Kannada web series led many to assume she must be flooded with offers in her home industry. 'Sadly, that's not the scenario,' says Kushee, who is now set to make her Tamil debut opposite actor-director Selvaraghavan. 'I'm thrilled about this huge opportunity to showcase my talent in another language, but I can't deny feeling sad that filmmakers in my industry haven't offered me anything substantial. Everyone said I did brilliantly but it didn't translate into meaningful work here in Kannada cinema. Now I'm getting offers from Telugu, too. Mere appreciation is not enough; I need to see work coming my way. If not, I'll go where opportunities knock — because as an artiste, I need to act. I can't just sit and wait for work to happen. Why would I go elsewhere if there was enough work to keep me busy in my language?' she asks. 'As a female lead, I'm happy with the payment I've got for my Tamil film. I know there's been a lot of debate about pay parity between male and female actors. But cinema, while an art form, is also a business. You're paid based on the openings and revenue you can generate. Once that's clear in your mind, you won't waste time wondering why heroines aren't paid on par with heroes. I'm happy with the pay I've received so far because I know why I take on a project—some films are for money, others for creative satisfaction. Any other argument is just a waste of my time,' states the actor. It's strange that in Kannada cinema, an artiste often seems to be celebrated more when they work in another language. But when they're exclusively doing Kannada projects, the attention is rarely the same Kushee Ravi
