Oregon Ducks 4-star Prince Tavizon receives ratings update following reclassification

USA Today18-07-2025
The Oregon Ducks got an update on the recruiting trail earlier this week when 2027 4-star EDGE Prince Tavizon announced that he would be reclassifying and joining the 2026 class instead.
With the move, Tavizon now joins Oregon's 2026 class, which moved up to No. 9 in the national rankings. He is the second edge-rusher in the Ducks' class, joining 4-star Dutch Horsik. As a member of the 2027 class, Tavizon was rated by 247Sports as the No. 76 overall player and No. 13 EDGE in the nation. However, with the reclassification to 2026, his ratings were updated by 247Sports.
Now, as a member of the 2026 class, Tavizon moved down a bit, according to the 247Sports Composite, rated as the No. 261 player in the nation and No. 22 EDGE. It will be interesting to see how that stands over the next few months as scouts gather more footage on the Lincoln High School prospect. With Tavizon now going into his senior year, more attention will be on him, and more film will be dissected.
Despite Tavizon's reclassification, Oregon is still after additional talent at the EDGE in the 2026 class, mainly targeting 5-star Anthony 'Tank' Jones, who is expected to announce his commitment between the Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas A&M Aggies over the next few weeks.

Costello van Steenis: Johnny Eblen 'behaving like a jealous ex-girlfriend' after PFL loss

Costello van Steenis has issued his responce to Johnny Eblen. Costello Van Steenis shocked the MMA world last week, pulling off an incredible, buzzer-beating win over one of the most coveted talents outside the UFC – and he assures it wasn't a matter of luck. Van Steenis (17-3) put previously undefeated PFL middleweight champion Johnny Eblen (16-1) to sleep with just nine seconds left in their championship main event bout for PFL Africa in Cape Town, South Africa. The finish was a must for Van Steenis, as entering Round 5, Eblen was up 39-37 on two judges' scorecards, with a third having the fight tied 38-38. Winning the final round would have resulted in a majority decision win for Eblen. After the bout, in a series of posts on X, Eblen called for an immediate rematch and said that Van Steenis isn't a "better fighter," but a "lucky one." The Spanish-Dutch fighter couldn't disagree more with Eblen. "I think he's behaving like a jealous ex-girlfriend," Van Steenis told Hablemos MMA in Spanish. "What do you mean luck? Luck that he was fading? He should've trained more. Luck that I put him to sleep? Man, then what great luck you've had in your previous 16 fights. "Luck is something you build in the gym. Sure, I'm lucky, I've trained more than you, that's for sure, and I believe in myself more than you believe in yourself. So yeah, that's what I think about his comments." PFL has yet to make its intentions clear on making an immediate rematch between Van Steenis and Eblen, but some would suggest Eblen's tenure as a Bellator champion, prior to PFL's acquisition of Bellator, warrants an immediate rematch. Van Steenis isn't opposed to the idea, but he would like to get a more exciting matchup, as he's not fond of Eblen's fighting style. Van Steenis sees the winner of the 2025 PFL middleweight world tournament – which is set to be Fabian Edwards vs. Dalton Rosta at 2025 PFL World Tournament 10: Finals on Aug. 21 – as the perfect dance partner for his first title defense. "Look, I'm not going to say no, but I do want to dance with another rival so we can have more action in this promotion," Van Steenis said. "He won a lot of fights by decision, and many of them are boring. I'd like to create a little more fire in this promotion. Fabian (Edwards) is going to fight Dalton Rosta in a few weeks, and I'd like to fight against the winner of that fight in December. That would be great – and if possible, in Spain."

Wiebes wins chaotic stage of Tour de France Femmes

Dutch rider Lorena Wiebes out-sprinted Marianne Vos to win a chaotic stage three of the Tour de France Femmes, although Vos' second place saw her regain the yellow jersey. A much-reduced group charged for the line in Angers after a crash in the final three kilometres split the race. Wiebes held off the challenge of compatriot Vos to win her fourth Tour de France Femmes stage, having claimed two victories in 2022 and one in 2023. Vos, who won the opening stage on Saturday, retook the yellow jersey from Mauritian Kim le Court. Demi Vollering, champion in 2023, went down in the crash but managed to finish and was given the same time as the leading group as the incident occurred in the final five kilometres, when riders do not lose time if they are involved in an accident. Vollering is sixth in the general classification, 19 seconds behind Vos, with Dutch riders filling six of the top 10 after three stages. Defending champion Katarzyna Niewiadoma is in fourth and French hope Pauline Ferrand-Prevot lies third overall. Tuesday's stage four is a 130.7km ride between Saumur and Poitiers. The sweary gift Sarina Wiegman used to inspire Lionesses before Euro 2025 final

Sarina Wiegman used a sweary toiletry bag to motivate her England players before the Euro 2025 final, revealing the message 'b****es get sh** done' as part of her team talk. Wiegman sensed the opportunity to lighten the mood before England's semi-final against Italy and delivered the same words before the Lionesses faced Spain in Sunday's final. Their dramatic victory on penalties means Wiegman has now won three Euros titles in a row with the Netherlands and England - in a tournament she described as 'chaotic and ridiculous" as the Lionesses came from behind in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. Beth Mead revealed: 'Sarina had a certain little way of motivating us, it was great, it was funny, it was everything. She did it again tonight. 'She had a little toiletry bag that said, 'B****es get sh** done', and b****es got sh** done today. That is it, drop the mic.' Wiegman also told her players to enjoy the final and urged them to make the most of an experience they 'couldn't even dream of' when they were kids. Captain Leah Williamson said Wiegman gave the team the belief that they could beat the world champions Spain, while the manager has also inspired their never-say-die attitude. 'You can have all those words, and in sport words are circulating all the time, but it's brave to put that into action and decide you're going to go through with it,' Williamson said. 'You leave yourself vulnerable and if you really try hard and it doesn't come off it's an awful feeling. If you put yourself out there like that the reward is so great and that's the key to the team. 'Sarina, she believes in us so much and it's hard not to believe in that yourself. She said we don't have to win, we want to win, and we're capable. And we did it.' Wiegman is the first manager in the men's or women's game to reach five consecutive finals in their first five major tournaments, and she is the first England manager to defend a title. The Dutch coach was described as 'priceless' by FA chief executive Mark Bullingham before the final and Wiegman said her final message to the players was a simple one. 'Well I've said a couple of things, but right before we went on the pitch, I just said, I can't use all the words I said, but the main message was enjoy it,' Wiegman said. 'We've got so far now in this tournament. I think we all created something again together. So these are the moments where you dream of , well some couldn't even dream of because it wasn't possible when they were little kids. But go out there and enjoy it and play your very best game.'
