Poll: Most voters disapprove of Trump admin's handling of Epstein files
Almost two-thirds of U.S. voters disapprove of the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files and the vast majority of Americans believe it should release all files in the case, according to two new polls. Why it matters: President Trump has made clear that he wants people to move on from the Epstein case, after his administration's conclusion that there's no evidence to suggest the disgraced financier was murdered or kept a " client list." However, a Quinnipiac University poll published on Wednesday found 63% of voters don't approve of the administration's handling of the case and just 17% approve. Zoom in: Republicans appear split, with 40% approving and 35% disapproving in the survey of 1,290 survey of self-identified registered voters that took place nationwide from July 10-14. 83% of Democrats disapproved, as did 71% of independents. The big picture: The poll that has a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percentage points comes on the heels of two others indicating many people's dissatisfaction with the administration over the Epstein files. Details: A poll of 1,680 U.S. citizens released Tuesday that was conducted by YouGov-Economist poll conducted July 11-14 found 79% of Americans believe all case documents should be released. And 67% say they think the government is "covering up evidence it has about Epstein." The margin of error for the overall sample in that poll is about 3.5%. Meanwhile, a CNN poll out Tuesday showed 50% of the 1,057 U.S. adults surveyed from July 10-13 were dissatisfied with the amount of information the federal government has released about the Epstein case.

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, D-Va., got in on TikTok's "aura farming" trend, posting a clip of himself dancing solo in the congressional subway, captioned "omw to hold this administration accountable."In the short clip, Subramanyam appears on the House subway wearing sunglasses, striking poses and waving his arms before locking in on the camera. Subramanyam's "aura farming" appears to have backfired, with some commenters calling it out as tone-deaf, hypocritical and "cringe." Left-leaning viewers frustrated with perceived inaction from Democrats under President Donald Trump took aim at the VA-10 congressman in the comment section. One of the top-liked comments asked flatly, "By doing nothing…?" Another read, "Representatives have got to stop doing this. Al Green, D-Texas, but was halted by a wide House majority. Several comments mocked the tone and delivery of the video. One read, "-1000 aura," while another said, "Our taxpayer money hard at work…" Another commenter wrote, "So what exactly are you on your way to do? He won Virginia's 10th District in 2024 and often plays up his immigrant roots in political messaging. The "aura farming" trend, popular among Gen Z and Gen Alpha, refers to pulling off effortless, cool gestures usually while standing still. Trump: Bondi has handled Epstein situation ‘very well'
President Trump on Tuesday expressed his support for Attorney General Pam Bondi's handling of documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein amid uproar from his supporters over a lack of transparency. Trump told reporters as he departed the White House for a trip to Pennsylvania that he would defer to Bondi to release whatever evidence she deems credible. The administration's handling of documents related to Epstein has fueled backlash from prominent figures in the MAGA movement. 'The attorney general has handled that very well. She has really done a very good job,' Trump said of Bondi. 'The credibility is very important. And you want credible evidence for something like that. And I think the attorney general has handled it very well,' Trump added. The president said Bondi recently provided him a 'very quick briefing' on the Epstein documents. Trump pushed back when asked if he was told his name was on the list of those connected to Epstein. 'No, no. She's given us just a very quick briefing and in terms of the credibility of the different things that they've seen,' Trump said. 'But she's handled it very well, and it's going to be up to her whatever she thinks is credible, she should release,' he added. The Justice Department and FBI issued a joint memo earlier this week that stated Epstein did not have a client list and confirmed he died by suicide in his New York City jail cell in 2019. The findings incensed members of the MAGA movement, who have for years pushed conspiracy theories about Epstein's death and claims that prominent Democrats would be named on a client list. Bondi in particular has faced intense backlash, with some Trump allies calling for her ouster. Supporters have cited Bondi's comments earlier this year pledging transparency around the Epstein files, including an interview in February in which she said an Epstein client list was 'sitting on' her 'desk' to be reviewed. She has since asserted she was referring to a variety of files related to the Epstein case. Trump over the weekend defended Bondi in a post on social media and appeared to urge his supporters to move on from their fixation on the Epstein files. But the issue has persisted, with Democrats piling on in their calls for the administration to release more findings. Epstein, accused in several cases of sex trafficking young girls, ran in high-powered circles with figures that included Trump, former President Clinton, Britain's Prince Andrew and a number of other celebrities and ultrawealthy individuals.
