Reports: Chelsea submit offer for Dortmund's Gittens

Chelsea are after Borussia Dortmund's English forward Jamie Gittens and have offered €35 million ($40 million), according to German reports late Saturday.
However, Dortmund are said to want €50 million for the 20-year-old who arrived at the Bundesliga club in 2020 from Manchester City's academy.

The reports said that Gittens has agreed to join the Blues on what could be a seven-year contract until 2032.
Chelsea are reportedly not in a hurry to get him as they are not necessarily planning to have him in their squad for the Club World Cup in the United States which starts on June 14. They are rather playing for time in an effort to lower the transfer fee.
Ruling body FIFA has a special transfer window for the 32 clubs participating in the month-long event, which ends on Tuesday.
Gittens has played 106 games for Dortmund's first team, scoring 17 goals, 12 of them in the past season. But he was not a regular starter lately.
