Prince Harry to be 'even angrier in new royal row' if latest move goes wrong
With Meghan Markle pressing ahead with her As Ever lifestyle brand, reports have suggested Prince Harry could soon follow in her footsteps with his own commercial brand - but one expert has given him a warning
Prince Harry could spark a brand new royal row with his potential new career move, according to an expert. While wife Meghan has basked in the limelight by pressing ahead with the launch of her As Ever business, the same can't be said for her husband, who appears to have taken a back seat after the couple seems to have decided to pursue different career paths.
However, reports have suggested that all that could be set to change as he attempts to find a 'new purpose'. It is reported that Harry could be launching his own commercial venture in the next few months, while also concentrating on his Invictus Games Foundation.
There are no details so far on what the venture could be, which will be one of the first tasks for the Sussex's newly formed team of advisors. But former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has said that if Harry wants to follow a money-making route, it could prove very tricky.
She told the Mirror: "Personally, I think this commercial route opens him up to all sorts of accusations of trading on his royal status which would make him an even angrier young man than at present. I think Harry is still trying to figure out where he goes from here. By normal standards, he's a very rich man, but life in Montecito doesn't come cheap, especially with all the security costs he deems necessary.
"So is he content for his wife to be the breadwinner while he concentrates on the children and charity work? There's nothing wrong with that but he might feel he needs to pursue commercial ventures too."
Prince Harry's recent appearances have seen him promote his charitable and non-profit causes. Earlier this month, he appeared at an event in Las Vegas to promote the Diana Award. While earlier this week, he unexpectedly turned up at a travel conference in Shanghai and gave a speech on sustainable travel in his role as co-founder of Travalyst.
And Jennie added: "There's nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home dad and using his influence to help charities around the world. He's brilliant at interacting with people and at just being Harry. He should perhaps stick to what he's born to, trained for and truly good at."
Harry's trip to China marked his first visit to the country and came on the same day his estranged father King Charles landed in Canada for a historic visit.
But Jennie explained: "Fortunately it seems not to have overshadowed Charles and Camilla's trip to Canada. In fact, it seems to have made very little news at all. If the idea was to garner as much publicity for the cause as possible, it would seem to have fallen rather short.
"There was no advance information about it and not much of a splash when he was there. But he is clearly employed by Travalyst to make keynote speeches like this, and I'm sure he made a good job of it. The timing of the conference would have been coincidental to the King's trip to Canada, certainly not deliberate.
"However, the irony of flying across the world to promote sustainable, environmentally friendly travel is hard to ignore. Surely a video speech would have been more ethical?
"The same criticism could be lobbed at William flying around the world to host the Earthshot Awards but sometimes it just raises the profile in a way nothing else could. I'm not sure that Harry's presence did the same."

Britain's Got Talent viewers 'work out' how winner pulled off magic trick
Fans and viewers of ITV's Britain's Got Talent have shared their theories as to how 2025 winner Harry Moulding pulled off an ambitious card trick that included sky diving Britain's Got Talent fans have been left fuming after 'figuring out' how 2025 winner Harry Moulding pulled off one of his daring tricks. Fans of the long-running ITV talent show voted for the 24-year-old magician from Blackpool to win the 18th season of the show. Harry beat off competition from dance troupe The Blackouts and solo dancer Binita, 8, to win the show. While Binita got to the final on her own merit, both Harry and The Blackouts were propelled to the final by the judges, who used golden buzzers, which gave them an automatic place in the final. During Saturday night's grand finale, Harry wowed the judges, live audience, and those watching from home as he executed an impressive skydiving magic trick. He asked Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden to take part in an elaborate card trick. After several minutes of banter and card selection, it was revealed that Bruno had picked out the three of clubs, Alesha would select the four of hearts, and Amanda would pick the seven of diamonds. While the judges were already impressed by the stage of the trick, Harry then played a video clip of himself sky diving hours earlier. During his descent, he predicted that the trio would pick the cards that the ultimately ended up with. The judges and audience were left gobsmacked by the reveal, but some fans watching along at home were convinced they figured out how Harry had pulled off the stunt. Fans took to social media to accuse the performer of cheating - and even using AI to perfect his act. One viewer wrote on X: "How much AI on the #BGTFinal magician's video?" And another, also accusing AI of being involved, wrote: "Not my cup tea this AI magic #BGTFinal". Others accused Harry of using simple sleight-of-hand tricks or using reflections to perfect his stunt. One wrote: "#BGT he can see the card in the camera." And another fan typed: "They have all put their card on the top #BGT." Other viewers were stunned by the performance, however, and went on to cheer for the winner. One wrote on X: "I'm not usually a fan of magicians, but this guy is brilliant and really enjoyable to watch #BGTFinal." And another fan gushed: "I dont care what anyone says but Harry Moulding deserves to win. All my votes goes to him #BGTFinal." Harry was indeed crowned winner of the 2025 season - with the awestruck magician telling hosts Ant and Dec: "I can't believe what is going on." Snatching the microphone from Declan, he continued: "Thank you, everyone, so, so much. I genuinely feel like everyone has been behind me. This has been the most incredible journey. I can't believe that I'm here. Thank you." His victory came after he wowed the judges with his tricks. Alesha gushed during the show: "Every time we see you, you up the level, you take it to the next level, and your imagination and the way you present your act is just astonishing. You're so likeable." And head judge Simon Cowell added his commendation, remarking how Harry was "so good, but so humble". He further commented: "This show, genuinely, is about finding people like you who, for whatever reason, haven't had the break they deserve. And you do deserve this break, I really think the audience are going to get behind you." After being crowned winner, Harry has the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year and has also pocketed a whopping £250,000 cash prize.

BGT champ Harry Moulding has very casual plan to spend huge prize money
Magician Harry Moulding was a surprise winner of Britain's Got Talent, but now he has revealed he has big ideas on the future Magician Harry Moulding has set his sights on landing his own TV show after he was a surprise winner of Britain's Got Talent 2025. The illusionist fell to his knees with joy as presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly declared him champion, having been only the 5-1 third favourite to win with bookmakers beforehand. Speaking to the Mirror after his victory which saw him land a £250,000 prize and a spot in the Royal Variety Performance, he seemed unlikely to let success go to his head. Asked how he would spend the money Harry said: "I cannot even think about the money, I don't have any extravagant plans to spend it yet. When I get back to Blackpool, I'm going to go to the chippy, get myself some fish and chips and just sit and take in everything that's happened. "Because right now, it doesn't feel real. I'd like to be able to spend some of it on a holiday with my family, because they've been my rock. But I can't even think of the money, because I feel like I am still dreaming." He added: "I look at the likes of all of the other incredible magicians that have come before me and paved the way for magicians in the world of entertainment and I hope to follow suit. The ultimate dream would be to have my own show." Harry also looked back on a pivotal moment at St Aiden's Church of England High School growing up. He explained: "My love of magic started when I was 11-years-old when a magician came to my school to perform. "I cannot thank him enough because that day changed my life. The magic blew my mind and I would not stop talking about it. Although, my teachers probably wouldn't thank him, because my magic caused them headaches! "It was as far from Hogwarts as you could imagine! But I thought I was Harry Potter, and they would say I was more of a class clown. I used to get my cards confiscated in class, because I constantly wanted to perform my magic tricks to school friends. I credit that day in school, seeing that magician perform, changed my life. "I also loved drama at school, and I'm so thankful to my teachers who celebrated me for who I am, they've helped me to become the performer I can be today. I'm sorry to the teachers who had to deal with my magic antics, but I hope they can see it was all worth it now." When Harry left school, he joined the cast of the Award-Winning House of Illusion Magic and Mystery Theatre Show in Spain. Since then, he has performed in thousands of sold-out shows and returned to the UK to work on his act full time in 2022. Harry, 24, wowed the judges with his card trick act which featured a video of him skydiving out of a plane. He was fast-tracked to the final after guest judge KSI hit the golden buzzer in the semi-final, which also saw him propose to his girlfriend. Harry added: "The Judges have been nothing but amazing. When I won, we had the most incredible moment on stage where we all huddled together and jumped around the stage. It was like a bit of a BGT Rugby scrum, where we just locked arms, and became the best ball of BGT chaos as we jumped around the stage. It was such a beautiful moment I got to share with them. As we bounced around, each of them was saying the most amazing things." On the second part of his prize, he said: "To perform for the King will be such a great honour it means the absolute world. He is a part of the inner Magic Circle, and so I cannot wait to show him my act. "I hope I will get to meet him so he can show me his infamous cup and ball routine that gained him entry into The Magic Circle as I know he is the original sleight of hand pro. I hope I make His Majesty proud. "Even though I know the amount of pressure that comes with performing for the King, above all this is the greatest honour I could ever imagine and such a dream come true." The final of Britain's Got Talent peaked at 4.8 million, down on the 5.2 million viewers who watched 2024's final. Dance group The Blackouts were this year's runners-up after performing a light show to hits by Robbie Williams and Take That. In third place was nine-year-old gymnast Binita Chetry. Choral group Hear Our Voice, made up of people impacted by the Post Office scandal, were the bookies' favourites heading into the final, but finished outside the top three.
