Knight Therapeutics Announces Regulatory Submission of CREXONT® (Carbidopa and Levodopa) Extended-Release Capsules in Mexico
CREXONT® is a novel, oral formulation of carbidopa/levodopa (CD/LD) extended-release capsules for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
In January 2024, Knight announced that it had entered into an agreement with Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMRX) ("Amneal") for the exclusive rights to seek regulatory approval and commercialize CREXONT® in Canada and Latin America.
In July 2025, Knight announced that CREXONT® submission was accepted for review by Health Canada.

About CREXONT®
CREXONT® is a novel, oral formulation of carbidopa/levodopa (CD/LD) capsule that combines both immediate-release granules and extended-release beads for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
CREXONT® contains immediate-release (IR) granules and extended-release (ER) coated beads. The IR granules consist of CD and LD, with a disintegrant polymer to allow for rapid dissolution. The ER beads consist of LD, coated with a sustained release polymer to allow for gradual drug release, a mucoadhesive polymer designed to prolong adhesion at absorption site, and an enteric coating to prevent the granules from disintegrating prematurely in the stomach.
CREXONT® was studied in the RISE-PD clinical study which was a 20-week, randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, active-controlled, phase 3 clinical trial with 630 patients.
The RISE-PD study successfully met its primary and secondary endpoints, demonstrating that treatment with CREXONT® significantly improved daily "Good On" time with fewer doses compared to IR CD/LD. Specifically, CREXONT® showed an improvement of 0.53 hours (least squares mean, 95% CI, 0.09-0.97), with an average dosing frequency of three times per day versus five times per day for IR CD/LD1. A post-hoc analysis of the primary endpoint on a per dose basis showed 1.55 more hours of 'Good On' time per dose of CREXONT, compared to IR CD/LD.2

Sugar cookies sold in 20 states recalled for potential wood contamination: See map Hundreds of cases of sugar cookies sold at Target are being recalled for potential contamination by a "foreign material," according to a notice posted to the Food and Drug Administration's website. Mexico sets minimum export prices for fresh tomatoes
By Brendan O'Boyle MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Mexico has set minimum export prices for fresh tomatoes to protect its domestic production and ensure internal supply after a bilateral agreement with the U.S. expired, Mexico's economy and agriculture ministries said in a joint statement on Sunday. The decision follows Washington's withdrawal in July from a 2019 deal between the two countries which regulated Mexican tomato exports to the U.S.. The Trump administration on July 14 announced a duty of about 17% on imports of fresh tomatoes from Mexico. While the new pricing rules apply exclusively to definitive exports, they don't restrict export volumes or impose maximum prices. Prices will be reviewed annually or sooner if market conditions demand, the Mexican ministries said. Minimum export prices per kilogram are set at $1.70 for cherry and grape tomatoes, $0.88 for Roma tomatoes, $0.95 for round tomatoes, and $1.65 for round tomatoes with stems. Other varieties, such as cocktail and heirloom tomatoes, will also have a minimum price of $1.70. According to official figures, Mexico exported $3.3 billion of tomatoes last year. "This action reinforces the government's commitment to agricultural competitiveness, dignified rural employment, and food sovereignty," the ministries said. The ministries added that Mexican associations of tomato producers have expressed support for the agreement, which entered into force immediately after its publication on August 8 in the government's official gazette.
