Snoop Dogg Joins Ownership Group of Welsh Soccer Club Swansea
The former Premier League club, which plays in the English second division, didn't disclose financial details in Thursday's announcement, which shines a spotlight on yet another unheralded team from Wales after Wrexham's well-documented journey.
"My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City," the American rapper and entertainment icon said in the announcement.
"The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me," he added. "This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me."
Snoop Dogg, who has more than 88 million Instagram followers, helped launch the team's 2025-26 home shirt last weekend.
The club ownership group added: "To borrow a phrase from Snoop's back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club's reach and profile."
Luka Modrić, who recently signed with AC Milan from Real Madrid, joined Swansea's ownership group in April.

Leicester City complete the signing of Asmir Begovic
Leicester City have signed veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a one-year contract. Begovic was a free agent after being released by Everton earlier this summer and had interest from several clubs before choosing to sign for Leicester. The Bosnian's move to Leicester will see him reunite with Marti Cifuentes, who previously managed him at Queens Park Rangers, where Begovic featured in 45 Championship games during the 2023/24 season. 'I feel really excited,' he told 'It's a pleasure to be here and a big honour to join such a great club. I can't wait to get going. It's not every day that a club of this stature gets in touch about joining. 'Hopefully we can have an exciting season where we can challenge at the top of the table and get the Club back where it belongs.' Having featured for Chelsea, Stoke City and Bournemouth in the past, Begovic brings a wealth of experience to Leicester City's goalkeeping department and will be expected to provide competition and mentorship. Begovic is Leicester's first signing of the summer window, but more arrivals are expected as the Foxes prepare for life back in the Championship following last season's relegation from the Premier League. Leicester are resigned to losing the likes of Wilfred Ndidi and Bilal El Khannouss and will need to replace them properly. The East Midlands outfit have one final pre-season friendly against Fiorentina to navigate this weekend before getting their Championship campaign underway at home to Sheffield Wednesday on August 10.

Joao Felix leaves Chelsea to join Al-Nassr
Joao Felix has left Chelsea to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr on a permanent deal. The 25-year-old Portugal international moved to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid last summer, having had an earlier spell with the Blues on loan in 2023. He made 20 appearances for Enzo Maresca's side in the first half of the season – but started only three Premier League games – before leaving for AC Milan on loan in January. 'We thank Joao for his efforts across his two spells at the club and wish him well for the future,' Chelsea said in the statement. Felix has signed a two-year contract with his new club. Al-Nassr have reportedly paid an initial £26million transfer fee, although add-ons could see that rise as high as £43million – close to the sum Chelsea paid Atletico for his services last summer. He joins his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, who announced his arrival with a short video on social media in which Felix said: 'I am here to spread joy. Let's win together.'

Man City reject £25m transfer bid for in-demand starlet
Man City have reportedly rejected a £25 million transfer bid from Nottingham Forest for James McAtee. The midfielder, who can also play on the wing, has just one year remaining on his contract and has been linked with clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga. Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund, Everton, West Ham United and Eintracht Frankfurt are said to interested in signing the 22-year-old, who scored three goals in 15 Premier League appearances last season. He scored another three goals during City's run to the FA Cup final, although he was not involved in either the semi-final win over Forest or defeat to Palace in the final. Man City reject £25m James McAtee transfer bid from Nottingham Forest With McAtee's future up in the air, Forest submitted a bid of £25m, but it was rejected by Man City, according to Sky Sports News. The report adds that the player's representatives have travelled to Germany for 'talks' with Eintracht. McAtee himself reportedly visited the club earlier this month as his exit looms large. The youngster may be seeking guaranteed gametime next season after City signed Rayan Cherki, who will likely compete with him for minutes, from Lyon for an initial transfer fee of £30.45m. The Telegraph previously reported that City value McAtee at around £35m. Any fee that the club receive for the academy graduate would be booked as pure profit under the Premier League's Profit & Sustainability Rules. Meanwhile, Sky Sports News also report that Celtic are 'in talks' to sign Man City centre-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. The clubs are 'discussing terms' on a season-long loan deal. A number of English clubs are also 'keen' on the 19-year-old, but City will only entertain loan offers. City have also agreed a loan deal with Hull City for teenage winger Joey Ndala.
