DEATH WARRANT Inside secret deadly summit that led to execution of Scots gangsters Ross Monagahan & Eddie Lyons Jnr
THE FATE of Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr was sealed at a gangland summit just days before the slaughter, underworld sources have claimed.
Top table hoods from the Daniel clan are said to have gathered with high-ranking associates of caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson, 38, to discuss the deadly plot.

It is claimed the crunch talks happened at a secret location in Kirkintilloch near Glasgow before the order was given to carry out the brutal double slaying.
Daniel mob members are then said to have taken their families on holiday to ensure they were out of the country when the killers pounced amid fears of revenge attacks.
Sources also said mob boss Steven Lyons, 44, was meant to be the main target of the assassination - but he was on a flight to Spain from Dubai at the time of the ambush in Fuengirola, Spain.
It is understood Spain-based Eddie Jnr had recently been back in Scotland for the funeral of his 16-year-old daughter, who had longterm health problems.

Insiders claimed he told family and pals while he was home that he didn't feel it was safe enough for him to return permanently.
He had been set to go on a golfing trip with Monaghan.
A source said: "With all the recent gang stuff, people were saying that her death had tipped him over the edge.
"He knew he was a target. He looked like a worried man and made sure he didn't stay too long.

"He kept saying he wished he could come back."
Another source said: "The boys were there on a golf trip. They phoned home just a few days ago and were in high spirits. Their murders came as a complete shock.

"Nobody can believe it. But this changes everything."
We told how Monaghan, 43, and Lyons, 46, were executed in front of horrified holidaymakers at a Costa del Sol boozer.

The bloodbath on Saturday follows a bitter turf war between gangs in Scotland.
An underworld source said: 'They didn't stand a chance.'
The shooting in Spain comes amid a violent gang war that has ripped through Scotland since March said to have started over a fallout over drugs.

We told last week how a vicious mob waging a gang war on Scotland's streets have DENIED reports of a truce - and have vowed 'we aren't going away.'
It was claimed rival crews from the Lyons and Daniel factions have agreed to halt the violence on orders from Dubai-based mob boss Ross McGill, 31.
But sinister group Tamo Junto (TMJ) - who claim to be waging war against the Daniel's crime clan and its associates - blew those claims out of the water.
And they said they would continue to target the Daniel clan or anyone associated with drugs kingpin Mark Richardson, 38.

They said: 'We have terrorised you since March and we will continue to do so.
'Despite false claims in the media, TMJ will continue to target anyone associated with the Daniel family or Mark Richardson."
Police Scotland has made more than 40 arrests as part of Operation Portaledge - a huge prove into the going violence.
McGill, from East Kilbride, moved abroad in 2022 after skipping court on drug-dealing and gangsterism allegations.

He was said to have fled a nightclub in the UAE bolthole after spotting heavies linked to Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, 45.
Speculating on the consequences of the killings, another insider last night said: "Whether it's linked to the ongoing Scottish feud or another dispute with gangsters from some other group, this is bound to lead to further violence."

Identity Fraud Surges Across UK Real Estate Sector

New research has revealed that 70% of real estate professionals have witnessed a rise in identity fraud in the past year, as businesses grapple with the growing threat of sophisticated digital deception. Despite the surge, only 14% regularly escalate fraud cases to the authorities, raising concerns about accountability and enforcement. The study of 250 UK-based real estate workers was conducted by Credas Technologies, which specialises in identity verification technology, and highlights a growing reliance on technology to fight back. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of real estate companies now detect fraud through digital or automated methods, signalling a strong shift towards tech-led defences. More than half (52%) of respondents reported encountering fraudulent identity documents, with fraud cited as the most pressing concern in ID verification (34%), followed by customer experience (24%) and operational inefficiency (20%). 'Fraud is getting worse,' said Tim Barnett, CEO of Credas. 'But the good news is that technology is not just keeping pace, it's gaining ground. Digital ID verification is proving to be one of the most effective tools in detecting and preventing fraud, while also improving the experience for legitimate customers. The future of fraud prevention is automated, intelligent, and proactive.' However, the report also reveals a troubling gap in response. While fraud is on the rise, 56% of real estate professionals rarely or never escalate cases to the authorities, suggesting a potential weakness in the broader fraud response ecosystem. 'As fraudsters grow more sophisticated, the message is clear,' Tim continued. 'The real estate industry must adopt more advanced techniques to stay ahead.'

Balaclava-clad youths on motorbikes terrorise Edinburgh residents as police crackdown on gangs

The youngsters were caught on camera in Edinburgh. Cops have vowed to clamp down on balaclava-clad yobs who were caught on camera rallying dirt bikes along a busy Scots street. It comes as locals and police continue to tackle the illegal use of motorbikes in Edinburgh. The group were spotted cruising down St John's Road in Corstorphine on Tuesday night. Three bikes all carrying two individuals were seen, four of those without helmets and wearing balaclavas. ‌ Two other youths were seen with both a balaclava and a helmet on as they travelled together down the busy road - two riding off-road bikes and another riding a moped-style bike. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The group were reportedly seen in the same area on Monday night and according to locals, one of the bikes was spotted on social media with the rider filming themselves pulling stunts. Similar bikes are often seen across the city dodging in and out of traffic and pulling wheelies, with those riding them rarely seen wearing helmets, Edinburgh Live reports. It comes after we reported how a large group of Edinburgh bikers teamed up with officers at Police Scotland to help identify where bikes are reportedly being 'stashed' by thieves and identifying those responsible. The group are also taking time out of their day to help track down stolen bikes within the city and reunite them with their owners, as well as frequently reporting sightings and suspicious activity back to police. Special police operations have also been targeting the use of illegal motorbikes in Edinburgh, with several being seized in recent weeks. Between May 26-29 police in the south west arrested 11 individuals. Six vehicles, including e-bikes, were also seized. Several e-bikes were also recovered during May, with those riding them charged with alleged road traffic offences.

Gangland feud whistleblower says "cancer of organised crime" allowed to fester

Former Glasgow City councillor Billy McAllister believes the current violence involving the rival Lyons and Daniel families could have been avoided when he first raised concerns with the authorities in 2000. The man who first exposed the criminal activities of the Lyons family 25 years ago has slammed police and politicians for ignoring his warnings of future bloodshed. Whistleblower Billy McAllister says the current murderous feud with the Daniel crime clan could have been avoided had the authorities listened to him at the time. ‌ McAllister was speaking as detectives in Spain stepped up their hunt for the killers of Lyons gang members Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons jnr. ‌ Both men were shot dead in an Irish bar owned by Monaghan in the Spanish holiday resort of Fuengirola by a lone gunman who escaped in a waiting car. In 2000 Billy first exposed the Lyons family's involvement in the running of the public funded Chirnsyde Community Initiative in Milton, Glasgow. His complaints that the community centre was a cover for organised crime were dismissed for years by both the police and Glasgow City Council. However that all changed in 2006 when Lyons family member Michael Lyons was shot dead in a Glasgow garage by two associates of the Daniel family, Raymond Anderson and James McDonald. The victim's cousin Steven Lyons was seriously injured by the gunmen as was Lyons associate Robert Pickett. ‌ Glasgow City Council finally shut down Chirnsyde and evicted members of the Lyons family from the community centre a few days later. At the time a young Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons jnr were both members of the Club Boys - a group of young aspiring criminals attached to the centre. Billy, who is a former SNP councillor, said the latest bloodshed which saw both men murdered in cold blood on Saturday night was avoidable and preventable had the authorities taken action much sooner. He added:"It's shocking that two young men have lost their lives, but what is more shocking is the fact that the assignation was in a public bar where members of the public were going about their lawful business, having a good night out and their lives where put in danger. "Surely given all the intelligence and information they (the police) have on these criminals how was this allowed to happen? "It was wrong for the police and politicians to ignore us. "If they had done an early intervention then maybe a lot of people might just be still living. "Now 25 years later the feud is still ongoing and they (the police) are losing the war." ‌ It's estimated that the Lyons run community centre received more than £1.4 million in taxpayers money before it was finally closed down. By this time the Lyons had established themselves as a major organised crime group, at war with their Daniel rivals. Billy added: "The origins of the feud was all drug related, and control of that market. "The Lyons along with the Daniel's were determined to control the north of the city at that time. "They always hated each other going away back to when they where petty criminals. "We kept on complaining but they just ignored it, but low and behold it all came out at the end." Billy won election to Glasgow City Council in 2006 as a local councillor in Milton by vowing to evict the Lyons crime gang from Chirnsyde. ‌ He continued: "A top policeman told me that the police and politicians had left the cancer of serious and organised crime too long without addressing the problem head on. "That's why criminality is a growth industry, the risks are very low of getting caught. "The Lyons could have been taken out when they where petty criminals but they have been allowed to go undetected and look where we are now." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The long running feud was reignited in March this year when the Daniel family and associates were targeted in a series of fire bombings and other attacks. The man alleged to have orchestrated the most recent violence is former Rangers ultra 31 year old Ross McGill who is based in Dubai and said to have close links to the Lyons. ‌ His gang Tamo Junto have laid the blame for the double murder on a major gangland figure, said to be a key associate of the Daniel family. It's claimed the Lyons had been feeding McGill information to help his gang track their Daniel targets in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The deaths of Monaghan and Lyons jnr is the most dramatic escalation of the feud to date which has largely been played out in public. In 2010 feared Daniel enforcer and family member Kevin Carroll was shot dead by two men in the car park of an ASDA store in Robroyston, Glasgow. ‌ Two years later Ross Monaghan stood trial at the High Court in Glasgow for the murder but walked free after a judge ruled there was no case to answer. In 2017 Monaghan was shot while dropping off his daughter at her primary school in Penilee, Glasgow but escaped with minor injuries. He then relocated to Spain where he opened Monaghan's Bar. Police Scotland has so far arrested 41 people over the most recent incidents in Edinburgh and Glasgow as part of Operation Portaledge. In a statement they said they did not believe they were linked to the weekend fatal shootings in Spain. However there are fears that both murders have taken the Lyons-Daniel feud to a whole new level with the prospect of further violence and retribution.
