Warriors 'Carefully Evaluating' Options For Jonathan Kuminga This Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been an underwhelming offseason thus far for the Golden State Warriors as the only moves they have made came during their two selections in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

In the draft, the Warriors selected Alex Toohey and Will Richard in the second round as they add more young talent to their roster.
Despite this, many expected Golden State to be active in free agency to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, but that has not been the case thus far.

Of course, Golden State is still awaiting Jonathan Kuminga's decision on whether he wants to return to the team next season despite his unknown role or leave via a likely sign-and-trade in free agency.
With the Warriors still waiting on Kuminga, it has haltered their process in free agency but it is clear that Kuminga's decision is a massive one for the future of the Warriors.

According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, the Warriors are 'carefully evaluating' all options regarding Kuminga.
'The Warriors are taking their time when it comes to Jonathan Kuminga because they are leaving all of their options open, including potential paths to add another superstar down the line,' Siegel wrote. 'What happens with Kuminga has a direct impact on the team's status as a contending threat.'
This is a major report by Siegel and one that is not a surprising one as Kuminga is one of the key pieces of Golden State's future whether he is on the roster or traded for another star.
'This is relevant for both the 'now' and the 'post-Curry' era, which is why all options are being carefully evaluated,' Siegel added.

While the Warriors continue to evaluate the options for Kuminga, they have already seen many top targets for them get away and they are currently running out of options to upgrade their roster as they await his decision.

Paul Pierce makes bold claim about his place in NBA history after LeBron James' comments

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant be damned — Paul Pierce thinks he's the best pure scorer in NBA history. 'I was probably the best pure scorer in the history of the game,' the longtime Celtic said Thursday on FS1's 'Speak' show. 'I was pretty equipped.' Pierce made the head-turning comments during a segment about whether or not Durant was the 'most equipped scorer' in league history, as LeBron James claimed on a 'Mind the Game' podcast episode with KD and Steve Nash. 3 Paul Pierce said he thinks he's the best pure scorer in NBA history. @TheDunkCentral/X Pierce couldn't help but insert himself into the discussion. 'I need to be in this conversation,' the Hall of Famer said, as co-host Keyshawn Johnson prodded him. 'Could you pull up from the elbow?' Johnson asked. 'All of that,' Pierce replied. 'Could you knock down the three?' Johnson asked again. 'All of that,' Pierce said. 3 Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James appears during the first half of an NBA basketball game against the Utah Jazz, on Feb. 10, 2025, in Los Angeles. AP 'Could you back them down? Could you turnaround?' Johnson asked. 'All of that,' Pierce replied emphatically as the debate went on. Pierce admitted that he shot with worse efficiency than Durant, but claimed that KD 'doesn't really see defense' because he can get his shot off on anybody with his 6-foot-11 height. 'I shot more bad shots than Kevin,' Pierce said. 'But because he's seven feet, he can get his shot off on anybody.' Durant boasts a career effective field goal percentage of .554, compared to Pierce's .500. 3 Paul Pierce claimed he was a better pure scorer than Kevin Durant. NBAE via Getty Images Pierce, a 10-time All-Star who won Finals MVP with the Celtics in 2008, went on to praise Durant for how he 'changed the game on the perimeter' as one of the first ultra-tall NBA players to come into the league with supreme guard skills. 'All [Durant's] matchups and the way he shoots the ball and gets to the hole, he's efficient with it, so I can see why LeBron would say that,' Pierce said. 'But shoot, you gotta put me in that talk when it comes to most equipped scorers now. Come on, Bron.'
