Coronation Street reveals first look at Platt house changes as Maria and Lou clash
Coronation Street has revealed a first look at the changes to the Platt house as the tension between Maria Connor and Lou Michaelis escalates.
The iconic house was destroyed back in February as the ITV soap introduced a dramatic storyline, with the property being engulfed in flames after a mystery arsonist pushed a petrol-soaked rag through the letterbox.
After a brief whodunnit storyline, it was eventually revealed that Max Turner was the hooded individual who had set fire to the house, with the teenager reasoning that a potential insurance pay-out would alleviate David's financial worries.
Months on from the drama, which saw Max imprisoned for six and a half years, the iconic house at No.8 has been steadily rebuilt, with the new-look style set to be unveiled in next week's scenes.

In a new teaser clip, viewers can see the renovated house in all its glory, with the interior design boasting darker colours than before. The wall between the living room and the kitchen looks to have been removed, making for a tad more space.
The teaser also depicts the growing tension between Maria and Lou, who had previously worked together at the salon before the latter was sacked. Reeling from the loss of her job, Lou later shared a drink with Maria's husband Gary, enraging Maria even further.
In Friday's (13 June) scenes, which are shown in the clip, both Maria and Lou are invited to the Platt household to celebrate the rebuilding, with several Weatherfield residents gathering for a barbecue.

Lou begins to rummage around in somebody's belongings, briefly considering stealing a wad of cash before coming to her senses. Maria, however, comes in at the wrong time, demanding Lou empty her pockets as she brands her a "thieving cow".
"You can't tell me what to do," responds Lou, who promptly tries to leave. Maria isn't having any of it, however, as she remains adamant that her adversary has stolen something. The pair begin to grapple, but what will the consequences be?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
