West Indies vs Australia 2025 2nd Test match LIVE Streaming Details: Timings, Telecast Date, when and where to watch
West Indies gave former World Test champions Australia a run for their money in the first Test before bowing down to a 159-run loss at Bridgetown in Barbados last week. Pat Cummins-led Australia will now look to seal a series win when they take on Roston Chase's side in the second Test beginning in Grenada from Thursday.
Australia have got a major boost with the return of batter Steve Smith into the line-up. Smith has been battling a broken finger since the WTC 2025 final loss to South Africa last month. Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey revealed that Smith had done everything expected of him in an effort to make an early return.
'(He's a) class player. Think anytime you add 10,000 runs back into the line-up, you're going to be pretty happy with it. So we'll wait and see,' Carey said in the pre-match press conference.
'Obviously, he's having a hit out here. He seems pretty confident and he's excited to get back in. But also, it's been tough at the top of the order, so to add I guess a little bit more experience is good for the group, but I think they're doing a pretty good job as well,' he added.
Smith will come into the playing 11 at the expense of backup wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis. Aussies will look to play the same squad apart from the one change.
West Indies, on the other hand, are considering whether they can play an extra pacer in Anderson Phillip in place of left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican.
Celebrating a son, a father, a best friend and a proud West Indian.❤️

Jhye Richardson Eyes Ashes Return Following Shoulder Recovery
Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson's chances of featuring in this year's Ashes look slim after only resuming bowling on Tuesday following his third shoulder surgery in January. Despite the setback, the 28-year-old remains hopeful of making a strong comeback with the Sheffield Shield season just seven weeks away, according to ESPNcricinfo. In an effort to be fully fit for the Ashes series, which begins on November 21 later this year, Richardson had his third surgery on his right bowling shoulder in January. He has not participated in a Test match since the previous Ashes series in Australia, where he secured the triumph in Adelaide by capturing his first five-wicket haul in the format. Since then, he has struggled with injuries, including a hamstring operation in 2024, as well as mental health problems. Since his last Test, he has only participated in four first-class games. His most recent outing was in November of last year, when he dislocated his shoulder while high-fiving a teammate. "As nice as it would be [to play in the Ashes], there is a lot of water to go under the bridge before then. We're not counting out Ashes cricket, but there's a long process that has started and has been ongoing, and there is a lot to go through before then. Things are looking good for the summer, and I should be up and ready to go," Richardson said as quoted from ESPNcricinfo. "Some were good, some were bad, and some hit the side net and things like that. I was a little bit rusty, but it's good signs," Richardson said. "We're hitting the milestones that we planned out at the start, and while it has been really slow, things are looking good." Richardson has appeared in 36 fixtures for Australia across all formats, in which he has grabbed 57 wickets at an average of 27.92, with best figures of 5/42. In Test cricket, he has played three matches and scalped 11 wickets at an average of 22.09.

Not Bumrah! Smith Picks India's Bowling Coach As The 'Hardest Bowler' He Ever Faced
Last Updated: Smith is one of the greatest batters of all time. The 36-year-old right-handed batter from Australia has scored 17,371 runs in 356 matches. Legendary Australian batter Steve Smith is playing at the highest level since February 2010, and in the last 15 years, he has faced many top bowlers from around the world. Smith has enjoyed some top battles against the likes of Dale Steyn, James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Adil Rashid and Trent Boult, among others, but when asked to name the hardest bowler he has ever faced, Smith mentioned India's current bowling coach Morne Morkel's name. 'Morne Morkel. Tall, fast and just the bounce he got was not nice," Smith said during the rapid-fire round with BBC Sport Wales. 40-year-old Morkel played a total of 247 matches for three teams – South Africa, Africa XI and World XI – from 2006 to 2018 and dismissed 544 batters. In 36 matches against Australia, he picked up 91 wickets. He dismissed Smith twice in ODIs and three times in Test cricket. During the quick-fire round, when asked, 'For you, who's the greatest batsman of all time?" Smith said, 'I'd go with Jacques Kallis. I think, sorry, the greatest cricketer of all time is Jacques Kallis. Greatest batter of all time is probably Sachin Tendulkar." Tendulkar played a total of 664 matches for India during his 24-year-long international career and scored 34,357 runs in addition to dismissing 201 batters. Kallis on the other hand, played a total of 519 matches across formats during his 19-year-long international career from 1995 to 2014 and scored 25,534 runs in addition to taking 577 wickets. The former South African all-rounder scored more than 10,000 runs in both the Test and ODI formats of the game and also picked up more than 250 wickets in both of them. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
