Hidden animal in this optical illusion tricks almost everyone who sees it
Find out if you've got the mind of a modern-day genius with this baffling optical illusion that most Brits fail. Brainteasers and riddles are a great way to pass the time on those mundane morning commutes, and make for easy entertainment when your little one is moaning they're bored for the 100th time today.
However, research has also found that regularly solving these kinds of puzzles can help bolster your attention span and improve your concentration levels. In many ways, they're like a mini-workout for your brain. However, only those with a sky-high IQ will have any chance of solving this devilishly difficult optical illusion.
The image above may look like a bunch of black-and-white squiggles at first, but there is actually an animal hiding in plain sight. As previously reported, while some managed to locate the animal concealed in the zig-zag photograph, other users suggested all they could see were 'balls'.
Advice from those who had solved the puzzle also came pouring in online, as they revealed how to spot the creature. One user suggested you should "shake the screen" to see the outline of the animal while another said looking down from a certain angle with your phone would help.
Feeling stuck, or reckon you've finally cracked it? Scroll down to the bottom of the article to reveal which animal you need to find.
If you spotted the animal straight away - well done. But now, it's time for something a little more challenging. Below are 10 seemingly bog-standard questions you'd expect to hear at your local boozer on quiz night.
However, each one of these questions has been strategically designed to trick you. Get too cocky and rush through the quiz, and you'll inevitably fail.
But, you can only spend three seconds on each question before you have to move on to the next. You also need to score at least eight out of 10 to prove you're the next Albert Einstein. Once you're done, you can check your answers here - but no cheating.

Scots Haggis eating champion vows to set new record
Alastair wants to win ten titles and smash a previous top time Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE world haggis-scoffing champ has set his sights on bagging 10 titles and smashing a record before he retires. Alastair Ross, 28, has his eyes set on winning the World Haggis Eating competition at the Birnam Highland Games later this month. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 Alastair has won the title seven times 3 He says he can demolish a haggis in less than 44 seconds 3 Competitors are set to munch the offal treat at the Birnam Highland Games The butcher, of Dunkeld, Perthshire, has already bagged eight titles and was considering retirement but instead has decided to push on to hit double figures. He can demolish an entire 1lb haggis in less than 44 seconds - which is the current world record held by 33-year-old Lee Goodfellow. Alastair hopes to set a better time and claims the secret to his success is knocking it back with a pint of lager. He said: 'I am absolutely headstrong in the fact I'm going to smash the record with a pint of lager because no one says it's possible. 'I've won the competition eight times, seven times in a row. It's just a wee claim to fame, I guess. I'll be sad if and when I lose it. But I won't stop until I've reached 10. 'I'm going to smash Lee Goodfellow's world record as God intended, with a beer in my right hand.' Alastair first witnessed the offal competition when he was a child and began competing in 2016. Participants must eat a traditional haggis - made from sheep innards, oatmeal, and spices - in as little time as possible. The existing record was set by a rival who downed water but Alastair is keen on doing it with beer. He said: 'My official games record stands at low 50s. Unofficially, I've done it in a butcher's shop and I absolutely smashed that record. 'Other competitors drink water because it doesn't fizz up in your stomach. I've done it with water under the 44 seconds. But I think that's too easy. 'The secret to eating the haggis quickly is forget what you're eating and just chew. I usually just cram as much into my mouth as possible and just wash it down with lager. 'It's not for the faint hearted.' Ross recently took part in an eating challenge to promote Innis and Gunn which saw him put away five helpings of steak and chips. He joked that competitive eating made him pass too much gas and that he'd have to quit to give his loved ones a break. Thousands of contaminated tablets are urgently recalled in UK as Brits fall ill with 'antibiotic resistant Salmonella' But the comment sparked rumours that he would pull out of the haggis eating championship. Alastair added: 'It's just a wee claim to fame, I guess. I'll be sad if and when I lose it.' The winner receives the Willie Robertson trophy, named after a popular local man who previously won the competition. Birnam Highland Games takes place on August 30.

The world's funniest countries revealed — and Brits won't be happy
Laughter might be a universal language, but let's be honest, some people are just funnier than others. And, whether it's deadpan delivery, playful banter or self-deprecating sarcasm, each country has its own comedic signature. If your ideal holiday includes more than just lounging on the beach or ticking off tourist attractions, and you want a place where the locals make you laugh, you might want to listen up. A new global ranking has named the world's funniest countries. But Brits shouldn't get too cocky. We might be a nation of dry humour and relentless sarcasm, but the UK hasn't even made the top 10. In a survey by Remitly, over 6,000 people across 30 countries were asked to complete something called the Humour Styles Questionnaire. It's a psychological tool created in 2003 by researcher Rod Martin, designed to examine not just if someone is funny, but how they express their humour. Fuel your wanderlust with our curated newsletter of travel deals, guides and inspiration. Sign up here. The winner? Perhaps surprisingly, it was Czechia (formerly the Czech Republic). Scoring 72.33 out of a possible 112 on the questionnaire, the Czechs came out top thanks to their strength in self-defeating humour. They also scored high for aggressive humour, which Remitly describes as 'a potent mix of self-deprecation, razor-sharp irony, and expertly wielded sarcasm. The Czech humour isn't loud or performative; it's dry and operates on well-placed jabs and deadpan delivery. According to Remitly: 'Czechs have refined humour into a survival tool, using wit as psychological armour that has evolved into a defining national characteristic.' In second place was Portugal, scoring 71.42. Remitly says Portuguese humour leans more into affiliative and aggressive styles, leaving them with a sense of humour that blends warmth and wit. 'Known for quick-thinking jokes, they often use humour to charm, tease, and disarm,' it explains. Ireland took third place with 71.18 – a result that probably won't shock anyone who's ever been around someone from Ireland. According to Remitly, Ireland scored high for affiliative and self-enhancing humour. 'This may align with the Irish's reputation for friendliness and excellent storytelling. It's a great combination of humour styles, leading to citizens of Ireland being sharp, charming and relatable.' More Trending Belgium followed close behind (71.12), with Chile and Greece tied for fifth at 71.08. As for the UK? Eighteenth. Behind Canada and just ahead of South Africa. A ranking that may leave British comedy fans clutching their box sets of Peep Show and The Office in disbelief. Hey, at least we weren't in last place. Sorry, Norway, we hate to break it to you.
