WATCH: Highlights from Jase Richardson's NBA Summer League debut with Orlando Magic
Richardson dropped 14 points and dished out one assist in the Orlando Magic's opening game against the Sacramento Kings of NBA Summer League on Thursday. The Magic came out with the loss, but Richardson certainly was a bright spot for Orlando.
Richardson shot 5-of-8 from the field, and 2-of-3 from three-point range in the game. This was his first game since the Magic selected him with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft last month.
Next up for the Magic is another NBA Summer League game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Before we look ahead to that matchup, let's check out highlights of Richardson's debut below:

Texas A&M lands commitment from the Lone Star Conference All-Defensive shortstop
After a rough 2025 MLB Draft, the Texas A&M staff had to return to the transfer portal to address depth needs in the infield. Coach Earley found a diamond in the rough within the Texas A&M University System. On Wednesday night, it was announced that West Texas A&M shortstop Elijah Batista will spend his final collegiate season in Aggieland. Batista played two years at junior college Western Texas College, where he batted .304 with 42 RBIs and 14 stolen bases in his final season before signing with the Buffs. He's an intriguing defensive prospect who earned Lone Star Conference All-Defensive honors in 2024 with a .951 fielding percentage, though that dipped to a concerning .938. With Maddox Latta opting to sign a pro deal, the Aggies needed to add talent at shortstop. With the help of Cliff Pennington, the hope is to coach up several players and let the best talent emerge. While Batista's defensive metrics slipped, his bat showed improvement. He posted a 2025 slash line of .293/.394/.494 with 40 RBIs and seven home runs. Batista is making a significant leap to Division I baseball in what many consider the toughest conference in the nation. If the staff can help him return to his 2024 form while bringing him up to speed, the sky's the limit. Wings Rookie Paige Bueckers Makes WNBA History vs Dream
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Dallas Wings are one of the bottom three teams in the WNBA this season, but rookie guard Paige Bueckers has been the team's lone bright spot. The 23-year-old No. 1 overall pick is Dallas' leading scorer (18.2 points per game), and she also leads the team in assists (5.5 per game), steals (1.9 per game), and minutes per night (34.4). In Wednesday's 88-85 loss to the Atlanta Dream, Bueckers put forth another strong performance, only strengthening her case for Rookie of the Year. The UConn alum logged a game-high 21 points, seven assists, two rebounds, and a steal, and she wrote her name in the WNBA record book in the process. "Paige Bueckers now has the most games by a rookie in WNBA history with: 20+ PTS, 5+ AST, 0 TOV," Polymarket Hoops wrote on X. But that wasn't the only record Bueckers attained on Wednesday. She also matched a historic feat accomplished by WNBA legend Cynthia Cooper.
