Andy Sachs is back! Anne Hathaway shares 1st look at 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Yahoo21-07-2025
Hathaway posted a photo of herself in character on Monday morning.
Anne Hathaway has officially reprised one of her chicest roles to date.
The 42-year-old actress shared a first-look photo of herself in costume while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2. The photo, posted to Instagram on Monday, sees Hathaway in a pin-striped vest and matching trousers, which she paired with pointed-toe boots and a gold T-bar necklace.
'Andy Sachs 2025 #dwp2,' Hathaway captioned the photo.
Hathaway was also seen filming the sequel on Monday. The actress, with her lightly tussled locks and rectangular shades, strutted down a New York City sidewalk in a sleeveless white top, unbuttoned black vest, light-washed denim skirt and Chanel slides.
The Idea of You star shared a video on TikTok earlier that morning, with a subtle nod to the original film. Alongside the caption, 'Heading to work #dwp2,' Hathaway wears a blue sweater while brushing her teeth. Fans, of course, remember the famous cerulean blue monologue from the 2006 film.
Confirmation that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in the works came in June, when 20th Century Studios, the distributor for the original 2006 film, shared a 21-second clip on Instagram, which featured a pair of red stilettos with the devil's pitchfork as heels. The sequel is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
Based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, the 2006 film follows recent journalism graduate Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she's thrust into the fast-paced world of high fashion after becoming an assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the cutthroat editor in chief at Runway magazine. Streep earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Miranda, who was famously modeled after Vogue's former editor in chief Anna Wintour.
Nearly 20 years later, the sequel will focus on Priestly as she deals with the changing tides in fashion journalism and the decline of traditional magazine publishing. The indomitable editor will be forced to confront former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), a now ultra-successful executive for a luxury group with financing that could determine the future of Runway magazine.
Hathaway, Streep and Blunt aren't the only stars reprising their roles in the sequel. Stanley Tucci, who played Priestly's stylish left-hand man in the original film, Tracie Thoms, who portrayed the best friend of Hathaway's character, and Tibor Feldman, the chairman of Runway's parent company, will also return.
New additions to the cast, according to Variety, include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet and Kenneth Branagh, who will portray the husband of Streep's character.
Fashion, unsurprisingly, is at the forefront of the original beloved film. As Andy grows more comfortable in her new position, so does her inclination to express herself sartorially. We soon see her swapping cerulean blue sweaters for head-to-toe Chanel. Fans of the original can expect standout, high-end style to play just as significant a role in the sequel.
Production of The Devil Wears Prada 2 appears to be well underway, but Hathaway initially had low expectations of it ever coming to fruition.
'Probably not,' she told V Magazine in 2024. 'We all love each other, and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we'd all be crazy not to. But there's a huge difference in the world now with technology, and one of the things about that particular story is it was about producing a physical object. Now with so much being digital, it would just be very different.'

Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver Fighting in ‘Marriage Story' Is Being Used by the USDA to Scare Off Wolves and Save Cattle: ‘They Need to Know Humans Are Bad'

A new report from The Wall Street Journal reveals that audio of Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver screaming at each other in Noah Baumbach's 'Marriage Story' is being used by the United States Department of Agriculture to scare off wolves from killing cattle and scaring livestock on farms across the America. The fight scene is the most emotionally volatile moment in Baumbach's 2019 drama, which earned both Johansson and Driver Oscar nominations. Per the WSJ: 'Riding to the rescue are drone cowhands, whose quadcopters have thermal cameras that can reveal any wolf lurking in the darkness and bathe it in a spotlight. A loudspeaker broadcasts alarming sounds like fireworks, gunshots and people arguing. One recording is of the fight between Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in the movie 'Marriage Story.'' 'Wolf hazing,' as the practice is called, also uses loud music like AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' to scare off deadly wolves. The USDA has relied on drones because gray wolves had long been on the federal government's list of endangered species. The process seems to be working. As the WSJ reported: 'Drones were deployed in the Klamath Basin of southern Oregon after 11 cows were killed by wolves there in a 20-day period. Over the next 85 days when drones were on patrol, only two were killed.' 'Marriage Story' stars Johansson and Driver as a couple going through a bitter divorce and custody battle over their son. The movie earned critical acclaim after premiering at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. Variety's Owen Gleiberman named 'Marriage Story' the second best movie of 2019. 'Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, in spectacular performances that work together with searing intimacy, enact the anger, pride, despair, and passion of a couple who tear their relationship apart, and their souls too, even as they both struggle to remain whole inside,' Gleiberman wrote. ''Marriage Story' tells the story of divorce in our time, and in doing so it earns a place next to those harrowing and heartrending texts of separation, 'Kramer vs. Kramer' and 'Scenes from a Marriage.'' Netflix Makes 'Rare' Decision to Cancel Beloved Show Featuring Hollywood Legend

On Friday, Aug. 1, Netflix reportedly called it quits on an action-comedy featuring one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood history: Arnold Schwarzenegger. The decision to cancel the series came just a few weeks after the release of Season 2 struggled to bring the same success as Season 1. Fubar centers on a CIA operative played by the legendary Scharzenegger who is on the verge of retirement who discovers a family secret and is forced to go back into the field for one last job. Why Did Netflix Cancel Schwarzenegger's Show? Netflix made the decision not to renew Fubar for a third season after the show's second season suffered what Deadline called a "surprisingly soft return" for the series that brought the stardom of Schwarzenegger combined with the acting prowess of Monica Barbero, who picked up an Oscar-nomination in between seasons 1 and 2 for her work on A Complete Unknown. "With Season 2 released more than two years after Season 1 dropped, Fubar barely made Netflix's Top 10 for English-language series in its first week, landing in the last spot with 2.2M views from Thursday through Sunday, down from about 11M views for the show's Season 1 premiere weekend," Deadline wrote. "Season 2 peaked at #7 in its first full week with 3.3M views and logged one more #10 finish in Week 3 with 1.8M views before dropping out of the Top 10." It's a 'Rare' Move From Netflix Deadline called it a "rare" move from Netflix, which has opted to renew 20 scripted series like Untamed for Season 2, Shane Gillis' comedy Tires for Season 3 and romantic dramas Ransom Canyon for Season 2 and Virgin River for Season 8. Fubar became just one of a handful of shows canceled by Netflix so far this year joining The Recruit, Pulse and The Makes 'Rare' Decision to Cancel Beloved Show Featuring Hollywood Legend first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 2, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
