The "King of the Hill" revival is off and kicking, and there has been plenty of news regarding the fan-favorite adult cartoon making its grand return. While series regulars Mike Judge as Hank Hill/Boomhauer, Kathy Najimy as Peggy, Pamela Adlon as Bobby, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive, there appear to be two more fan-favorite characters returning.

The new poster reveals a look at the much older citizens of Arlen, Texas, along with the appearance of Connie Souphanousinphone, aka Khan Jr., who was originally voiced by Lauren Tom, and Joseph Gribble, originally voiced by Breckin Meyer.

Hank is wearing glasses in the new poster, which shows Boomhauer, Bill, Dale, Bobby, Peggy, but now fans can see an older Connie and Joseph standing next to them.
This is the first time that both Joseph and Connie have been shown. What is not known is if Tom and Meyer will return to voice their respective characters.

Interestingly, Tom also voiced Minh Souphanousinphone as well, which could mean that the entire Souphanousinphone family might still be in Arlen.
Signs have already pointed to Khan potentially being involved, as original voice actor Toby Huss is also returning to the series. He is taking over voice duties for Dale Gribble, as Johnny Hardwick passed away in 2023.
It has been confirmed that Hardwick recorded six episodes before his untimely passing, and Huss will take over following the first six episodes of the revival.
Huss also voiced Cotton Hill, though there has been no indication if the salty Hill patriarch will be part of the revival in any way. Still, Huss' involvement and Connie being shown could mean that Khan and the Minh might also be part of the revival.
The "King of the Hill" revival is set to release on Aug. 5 and will be streamed exclusively on Hulu.
The plot for the series is somewhat known, as the opening also showcased a bit about where the family has been. Peggy, Bobby, and Hank appear to have returned to a much different Arlen.
Bobby is now a renowned chef, while Hank and Peggy have returned to where they raised their son. Also, it appears that Dale has taken a liking to politics, as the new opening showcased him running for mayor.

Former World Champion Blasts WWE Over His Release
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Recently released WWE superstar Braun Strowman is not holding back his feelings about his departure from the company. In a new social media post, the former Universal Champion called his release a "stupid business decision." The comment came in response to a fan who questioned why WWE continues to use Strowman's image in promotional materials despite him no longer being employed by the company. Strowman, Adam Scherr, became a free agent on August 1st. WWE's "Stupid Business Decision" A fan on X pointed out that Strowman was featured heavily in highlight packages for SummerSlam and in the new Netflix docuseries, WWE Unreal. The fan tagged Triple H and asked why Strowman was cut if his likeness is still being used so prominently. Strowman fired back with a blunt and direct response. "Casue someone made a stupid business decision!!!!" he wrote. The company reportedly believed his contract was worth more than the value they were getting in return based on his recent usage. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - OCTOBER 11: A WWE logo is shown on a screen before a WWE news conference at T-Mobile Arena on October 11, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was announced that WWE wrestler Braun Strowman will face heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury and WWE champion Brock Lesnar will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez at the WWE's Crown Jewel event at Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 31. More A Monster Among Men Braun Strowman was one of WWE's biggest homegrown stars of the last decade. After debuting as the monstrous "Black Sheep" of The Wyatt Family, he broke out on his own as a dominant and surprisingly popular babyface. His "Get These Hands" catchphrase became a hit with the audience, and his incredible feats of strength made him a must-see attraction. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match His career peaked at WrestleMania 36, where he defeated Goldberg to win the Universal Championship. He was a consistent main event player for years. A Tale of Two WWE Releases This is the second time Strowman has been released by WWE. His first release in 2021 was a major shock to the wrestling world. He was brought back by the new creative regime in 2022, but his second run never reached the same main event heights as his first. This history of being a top star who was let go twice is likely the source of his current frustration. Since becoming a free agent, he has been very vocal, recently posting in support of Karrion Kross and criticizing WWE's backstage culture. As one of the biggest free agents in the world, the wrestling industry will be watching to see where "The Monster Among Men" lands next. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

American Eagle Scores Big Win Amid Sydney Sweeney Ad Backlash
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. American Eagle's Instagram followers have skyrocketed following its ad campaign with actress Sydney Sweeney. Newsweek reached out to an American Eagle spokesperson via email for comment. Why It Matters American Eagle sparked a firestorm online late last month when the clothing company released a commercial featuring Sweeney, an actress known for her roles on Euphoria and The White Lotus. "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color," she says in the denim ad. "My jeans are blue." In response to the line, critics argued the wordplay with "genes" had "white supremacy" undertones. Others pushed back against the claims, however, saying that it was just clever marketing. On August 1, American Eagle defended their campaign in a statement posted to social media: "'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone." CLARY/AFP via Getty Images What To Know Following Sweeney's July 23 commercial, American Eagle has seen a significant surge in social media engagement. According to the analytics website Social Blade, the brand has picked up more than 142,700 followers on Instagram in the last 30 days, most of which were in the days and weeks after the ad was released. On August 1, the same day American Eagle released a statement, it racked up 18,300 followers. The next day, it garnered an additional 25,969 followers, and on August 3, 15,492 people clicked the follow button. In comparison, the company lost 157 followers on July 13 and lost 152 followers on July 14. At the time of publication, American Eagle has 3.8 million Instagram followers. The news comes amid American Eagle's stock boost after President Donald Trump complimented the brand. Upon learning Sweeney is a registered Republican in Florida, he told reporters: "I love her ad!" In a separate message posted to Truth Social, he said Sweeney "has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there" and "the jeans are 'flying off the shelves.'" On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that American Eagle's stock rose by more than 23 percent after Trump's comments. What People Are Saying Sweeney's brother, Trent Sweeney, posted a certificate of his promotion to staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force on Instagram and said: "It's them good jeans." Robin Landa, an advertising expert and professor at Michael Graves College at Kean University, previously told Newsweek: "The campaign's pun isn't just tone-deaf—it's historically loaded." Political commentator Megyn Kelly said on her show: "We're sick and f****** tired of the nonsense, where you are not allowed to ever celebrate someone who is white and blonde and blue-eyed. That we have to walk into a room apologetic for those things, or have for the past five years. In a way, this ad is the final declaration that we're done doing that s***. It doesn't mean we're better, but you know what? We're no worse than any other race or any other hair color or eye color." What Happens Next Sweeney's new film Americana, which also stars Paul Walter Hauser, Halsey, Simon Rex, Eric Dane and more, hits theaters on Friday, August 15.

Why Lara Trump Photo Is Causing a Stir in the Middle East
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A recent photo of Lara Trump, U.S. President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, with an Arab artist at her residence in New York has drawn widespread criticism in the Middle East. "Was a pleasure," Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan posted on Instagram on Sunday, commenting on the music charity event Lara Trump hosted. Newsweek has contacted the Trump Organization for comment. Why It Matters The backlash from Arab audiences comes amid the war in Gaza as country leaders in the region have opposed Trump's stance and proposal to relocate Palestinians. Despite regional criticism and global pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—who counts Trump as an ally—announced plans to take full control of Gaza, further escalating tensions in the region as it intensified its military offensive. Lara Trump on the set of "My View With Lara Trump" at Fox News Studios in New York on July 31. Lara Trump on the set of "My View With Lara Trump" at Fox News Studios in New York on July To Know The photo of Lara Trump and Ramadan, an Egyptian rapper and actor, gained widespread attention on Arab media and social platforms—with critics expressing frustration over Ramadan's association with the Trump family amid the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The music charity event featured a $3,500 VIP ticket that included a photo with Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump. Ramadan faced backlash from Egyptian and Arab fans over the Trump family's ties to Israel amid the deadly Gaza conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel. According to Al Bawaba, a Middle Eastern news platform, many fans believed Ramadan should have refused the invitation or urged an end to the war during his visit. "And what about Gaza, artist? Ask her what her father is doing in Gaza, whether occupation, killing or starvation, maybe you and her are unaware," one user wrote on Facebook. تشرفت امس بدعوة لارا ترامب في منزل عائلة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب في نيويورك واهتمامهم بي يعني اهتمامهم واحترامهم لقارتي و بلدي .. استعدوا لمفاجأة كبيرة قريباً ثقة في الله نجاح ☝🏽🇺🇸🩷 Amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, several countries—including the U.K. and France—have announced plans to recognize a Palestinian state next month if Israel does not agree to a ceasefire and other terms. The U.S. president, meanwhile, has said recognizing Palestine would serve Hamas and that the United States "is not in that camp." Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel had "no choice but to finish the job and complete the defeat of Hamas" amid families' concerns that the expanded offensive could endanger Israeli hostages still held by the militant group. What People Are Saying Egyptian rapper Mohamed Ramadan wrote on Facebook, translated from Arabic: "I was honored yesterday to receive an invitation from Lara Trump to the home of U.S. President Donald Trump's family in New York. Their interest in me reflects their respect for my continent and my country. Get ready for a big surprise soon." Ashraf Saif, an Egyptian actor, wrote on Facebook, translated from Arabic: "They celebrate you because you are part of the global Masonic plot. ... They celebrate you while Gaza is being utterly destroyed. So congratulations to you for them, and congratulations to them for you. May God be the ultimate avenger." What Happens Next Trump and Netanyahu are discussing alternative solutions to the crisis in Gaza, focusing on securing the release of Israeli hostages.
