DJ Koo still goes to see Barbie Hsu every day

Yahoo3 days ago
29 Jul - DJ Koo Jun-yup suddenly went viral on social media, after a netizen confirmed media reports that the Korean entertainer is with Barbie Hsu every day since her passing.
A netizen posted on Threads recently that he was driving a group of visitors to Chin Pao San Cemetery to lay flowers for Barbie, who was laid to rest there. Thinking that he might not be able to find the grave, he was surprised when he saw a man sitting in the middle of the cemetery.
"I immediately thought, could that be DJ Koo? As we got closer, it really was. He politely said thank you to us," the netizen said.
In the photo, one can see DJ Koo sitting on a chair in his shorts and sleeveless shirt, and wearing a cap to shade his face from the sun.
The netizen added, "To be honest, I feel full of sadness when I saw him. It is hard for me to imagine the pain of having the love of your life suddenly leaving you! He is really the most affectionate man I have ever seen. I hope he can get over the pain."
The post had since garnered lots of comments including one person who said that they always saw DJ Koo there whenever they went to visit their father's grave, even when it rains.

BTS Fills Every Space On One Billboard Chart

For years now, BTS has ranked as perhaps the most successful musical act of all time on one Billboard tally. The South Korean boy band has earned multiple records on the World Digital Song Sales chart, including the most No. 1s and well over 100 top 10 smashes. Thanks to a new live album from the newly-reformed group, BTS doesn't just return to the purchase-focused list — it dominates it in a way rarely seen on any Billboard roster. BTS Dominates the World Digital Song Sales Chart This week, BTS completely owns the World Digital Song Sales chart. The tally only features 10 spaces, and the septet fills all of them, not allowing any other name to appear. All 10 of the boy band's wins at the moment are brand new, as they all come from the group's newly-released album Permission to Dance On Stage (Live). A Record-Extending No. 1 Smash BTS earns a record-extending thirty-ninth No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, as "Permission to Dance (Live)" launches in first place. The group's latest roundup of new wins includes live renditions of some of its most famous singles, such as "On," "Black Swan," "Fake Love," and "Life Goes On." In many instances, the studio versions of those cuts also performed incredibly well on the same tally, and now the live takes — which are counted separately from the first editions — are successes in their own right. More Than 100 Top 10 Bestsellers Throughout the years, BTS has pushed 158 tunes to the World Digital Song Sales chart. When the group first began appearing on the roster, it featured 25 spaces, though some time ago, Billboard shortened it to just 10. The troupe has scored 127 placements within the top 10, including all 10 new arrivals this time around. Permission to Dance On Stage (Live) also brings BTS to No. 1 on the related World Albums chart. The live set is also a top new title on both the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales rankings as well.

Justin Timberlake battling Lyme disease, faced 'relentlessly debilitating' pain during world tour

Justin Timberlake revealed he's been diagnosed with Lyme disease. In an Instagram post shared to celebrate the end of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, Timberlake clued fans in on the health struggles he's been facing. "As many of you know, I'm a pretty private person. But as I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour – I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me," he wrote in his social media caption. "Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – which I don't say so you feel bad for me – but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes." "If you've experienced this disease or know someone who has – then you're aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness. I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going." Timberlake, who has been on tour since April 2024, explained why he chose to be transparent. "Not only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself but, I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget. I was reluctant to talk about this because I was always raised to keep something like this to yourself. But I am trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they aren't misinterpreted." Fox News Digital reached out to Timberlake's representative for additional comment. The "Cry Me A River" singer's admission comes after he was criticized by fans online for not singing during a festival performance. In one video from Romania's Electric Castle festival, the pop singer can be heard continuously telling the audience to sing while walking around the stage and occasionally dancing. "When you pay for a concert but get a mute singer," a fan wrote while sharing the video on TikTok. "Dude took a day off on stage…" In his post Thursday, Timberlake thanked his fans and crew for showing up throughout the tour. "To everyone of you who came to see me on the Forget Tomorrow Tour or the JT Live '25 (or any other tour or show throughout the years for that matter)… Your energy and love continues to humble me. Your signs, messages, and DIY t-shirts have made me laugh and smile so many times. And, hearing and watching you all sing these songs, word for word, at the top of your lungs, will forever leave me in awe," he said. "You have made my dreams come true." "To my crew, band, singers, and dancers… Tour life really is like nothing else. It takes a special type of person to be able to do it – much less do it well. You all have been such a beautiful family away from home for me. I will always treasure our time these last couple of years together. I can't wait to see what everyone gets up to next. I know it will be exciting." "There really is no way to put into words the feeling of being on a stage and getting to share the experience of live music with all of you. It's a vibration of frequency that is unmatched. Sacred to me. I honestly don't know what my future is onstage but I'll always cherish this run! And all of them before! It's been the stuff of legend for me."

Anime Food Just Reached Mouthwatering New Heights in ‘Dan Da Dan'

Anime has had a storied relationship with making food look more appealing than in real life. The most prominent example of this is the legendary Studio Ghibli, which has made a career of putting painstaking work into creating its fluid animation of food, practically wafting smoke from behind the screen and beckoning viewers to lean in closer. Dan Da Dan, ever the rebel, has opted for the opposite route in its latest episode by going full live action with its culinary the fifth episode of the second season of Dan Da Dan, titled 'We Can All Stay There Together,' Okarun, Momo, and their crew continue a tradition made famous by One Piece. After a harrowing battle, they celebrated their hard-earned victory with a feast of delicious foods. This victory involved stopping a raging volcano from setting fire to a nearby village and capturing Evil Eye, who resides in Jiji Enjoji's body. The otherwise pretty chill episode's biggest plot development is the discovery that Jiji and Evil Eye switch personalities whenever cold water is poured on him, reminiscent of Ranma 1/2 (which Dan Da Dan references explicitly by having him sing the original anime's theme song). However, we're not here to discuss the plot. We're here to talk about food. And this episode is chock-full of it in its opening and closing moments. The first is the presentation of a stuffed-to-the-brim bowl of hot pot. Of course, when the characters interact with the communal meal, the live-action food turns into 2D before getting nommed into their mouths. Regardless, Dan Da Dan's decision to drop all pretenses and post a photo of food instead of animating it was equal parts hilarious and mesmerizing. In fact, the feat was so surprising that even manga creator Yukinobu Tatsu voiced his surprise during his live Twitter reaction to the new episode. The episode doubles down on the visual gag with another live-action shot of some food in the episode's final scene as well, making it exceedingly clear that their inspired gastronomic animation decision was no fluke. THE REAL LIFE PIC OF THE MARINATED CHICKEN IS SO UNHINGED AND CREEPY WTH — Hikaru 🖤 Yoshiki (@hikayoshilover) July 12, 2025Dan Da Dan isn't the only Netflix anime that has dipped its toe into showcasing live-action food in its episodes as of late. Cyangames Pictures' anime adaptation of horror manga The Summer Hikaru Died did so as well, though for more shock-horror purposes. Inverse to Dan Da Dan showcasing food so delicious it'll make you want to open up your food delivery app and make some knee-jerk disposable income decisions, The Summer Hikaru Died showed a jumpscare frame of marinated raw chicken to exaggerate the feeling of sticking one's hand inside their demonic, puppeteered friend's body. (Note: If you like Dan Da Dan, take this as a recommendation to watch The Summer Hikaru Died as well.) — 土屋晶治 (@tsuchi31478044) July 12, 2025While The Summer Hikaru Died's gnarly implementation of live-action anime food succeeded in being unnervingly macabre, the anime's production crew assured fans that their live-action implementation of food was put to good use when they turned it into chicken karaage after the episode ended and shared it with the staff. Hopefully, the folks over at Science Saru got to dig in on their live-action anime food too once they finalized episode five of Dan Da Dan. New episodes of Dan Da Dan air every Thursday on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu. Want more io9 news?
