Seremban food rider charged with driving recklessly, without licence on Jalan Persiaran Senawang
Iskandar Abd Asri, 20, made the plea after the charge was read out before Magistrate Saiful Sayoti.
He was charged with driving a Proton Satria car, was charged with driving the vehicle recklessly and dangerously to the public at about 2am on Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1 here, last July 6.
The offence, under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act1987 (Act 333), provides a maximum imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to RM15,000, as well as disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence for not less than five years and the probationary driving licence can be revoked, if convicted.
However, he pleaded guilty to a charge of driving the car without a valid licence at the same time, date and location according to Section 26(1) of the same law.
The offence is punishable with a fine of up to RM2,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or both, if convicted.
The court allowed him bail of RM3,000 and RM300 with one surety respectively and set Aug 21 for mention for submission of documents and social reports.

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 20 — A principal assistant director at a government department has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicion of soliciting bribes and receiving sponsorships for overseas trips from several companies and individuals. Putrajaya MACC director Azizul Ahmad Sarkawi confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009. In a separate case, a female insurance agent was remanded for her involvement in a fake investment scheme that deceived 22 investors out of RM21 million. The suspect, in her 40s was arrested at MACC headquarters in Putrajaya yesterday and remanded for five days until August 24. Preliminary investigations revealed the funds were never received by the cooperative, and the investors were given fake investment certificates. Fake voice of Queen used in TikTok scam, warns Royal Press Office
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — The Royal Press Office (RPO) has detected a fake TikTok account using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to mimic the voice of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia. According to a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the RPO said the video featured a voice resembling Raja Zarith Sofiah, allegedly promising financial assistance. 'The public is advised to remain cautious and not be easily influenced by such fake accounts, which are often used by scammers for fraudulent purposes on social media platforms. 'RPO wishes to stress that impersonation and misuse of identity are offences under the law,' the post read. Another child bullying case rocks Johor after apartment CCTV footage goes viral, cops investigating
JOHOR BARU, Aug 20 — Police are investigating another case of bullying involving children after a video showing a seeming assault at Molek Ria Apartment in Jalan Persiaran Bumi here went viral. Seri Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident took place at about 2.03pm last Friday at one of the apartment blocks. 'Based on the report lodged by the victim's 33-year-old mother, her son was kicked in the stomach by another boy believed to also live in the same residential area,' he said in a media statement today. Police did not disclose the age of the victim. Mohd Sohaimi said the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. He added that the offence carries a penalty of up to one year's imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both if convicted. 'Police remind the public to avoid any speculation or to spread unverified information regarding the case which could cause unnecessary panic,' he said. The one-minute, 24-second CCTV footage, recorded at the block's void deck, shows a young boy waiting for his mother when a group of boys approaches him. One of them then kicks him in the stomach.
