Drug The Jordan Anti-Narcotics Department has thwarted an attempt by two Arab nationals to manufacture crystal meth inside the Kingdom, as part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking. اضافة اعلان Since the beginning of this week, the Anti-Narcotics Department has handled nine significant cases, arresting 25 drug dealers, promoters, and smugglers. The department seized large quantities of various illegal drugs in the process. One of the most notable cases involved the foiling of a plot to manufacture the deadly drug crystal meth by two individuals of Arab nationality inside Jordan. Following intelligence reports that chemicals had been smuggled into the country for the purpose of producing crystal meth, a special investigative team was formed several months ago. The team monitored and gathered information about the two suspects, including their movements, entry, and exit from the Kingdom. After careful investigation, the authorities identified the location where the drugs were being produced — an apartment in the city of Irbid. The team executed a raid and apprehended the suspects. Upon searching the apartment, they discovered 15 kilograms of crystal meth and ten liters of chemicals used in its production. In a subsequent operation in the Al-Ruwaishid area, a group of individuals was raided after it was suspected they were storing large quantities of pills. Four individuals were arrested, and 125,000 narcotic pills along with two firearms were seized. At the Jaber Border Crossing, in collaboration with Jordanian customs and security agencies, two drug smuggling cases were intercepted. The first involved a vehicle suspected of carrying sweets and chocolates. Upon inspection, authorities found 12,000 narcotic pills and half a kilogram of crystal meth hidden inside the boxes. The smuggler was arrested, and further investigations led to the identification of two individuals receiving the drugs in the Kingdom, who were also apprehended. In the second smuggling case, a vehicle carrying 65,000 narcotic pills hidden inside cigarette boxes was intercepted while attempting to enter the Kingdom through the Jaber Border. The individual involved in the case was arrested. In Amman, the department conducted a raid on drug dealers and suspects in the Jabal al-Taj area, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, one of whom was classified as dangerous and armed. Various amounts of drugs were seized. In northern Jordan, two individuals were arrested for using social media to sell narcotic pills, and 7,000 pills were confiscated from them. Meanwhile, in Aqaba, a special operation was conducted to apprehend a drug dealer suspected of transporting a large quantity of drugs from Aqaba to Amman. The individual was arrested, and 12,000 narcotic pills, along with quantities of crystal meth and marijuana, were found in his vehicle. In the town of Al-Rusayfah, two drug dealers were arrested, and 8 bundles of hashish, along with crystal meth, were seized. In the final case, a drug dealer in Mafraq was arrested, and four bundles of hashish were found in his possession. This series of operations demonstrates Jordan's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and curb the spread of illicit substances within its borders.

Sweden tries terrorist over Kasasbeh burnt, eyebrow scar identifies him
Ammon News - The trial of Swedish terrorist Osama Karim begins Wednesday, in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, for his role in the 2014 capture and subsequent killing of a Jordanian pilot burned alive in Syria. The case is considered unique as the other involved in the brutal killing, which sparked international outrage at the time, are presumed dead, Swedish prosecutor Henrik Olin told AFP. He now faces charges of "serious war crimes and terrorist crimes" for the killing of the Jordanian pilot, with his trial due to open at 9:00 am (0700 GMT) at Stockholm's district court. On December 24, 2014, an aircraft belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force crashed in Syria. Bringing the case to trial was the result of extensive cooperation with officials in Belgium, France and the United States, prosecutor Olin said last week. Eyebrow scar It was thanks to a scar on the suspect's eyebrow, visible in the video and spotted by Belgian police, that Krayem was identified and the investigation was opened, said another prosecutor on the case, Reena Devgun. Other evidence includes conversations on social media, including one where Krayem asks a person if he has seen a new video "where a man gets fried", according to the investigation, a copy of which has been viewed by AFP. "I'm in the video," Krayem said, pointing out the moment when the camera zooms in on his face. The other person replies: "Hahaha, yes, I saw the eyebrow."

873 Violations Detected on King Abdullah Canal; Over 226,000 Cubic Meters of Water Saved - Jordan News
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Jordan Valley Authority announced on Monday that its ongoing campaigns to remove violations and tighten control over the King Abdullah Canal — one of the kingdom's vital sources of drinking and irrigation water — have yielded significant results. These efforts, carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Public Security Directorate, the judiciary, and the Water Authority's internal inspection teams, have saved approximately 226,107 cubic meters of water from the beginning of this year until the end of May. اضافة اعلان The Jordan Valley Authority highlighted that these campaigns, implemented along the 110-kilometer-long canal, are delivering positive outcomes in coordination with various relevant entities, including administrative governors, the Gendarmerie Forces, and other official bodies. These efforts are part of the enforcement of the amended Jordan Valley Authority Law, which imposes imprisonment and financial penalties on anyone who illegally taps into water sources. According to information received by the Control Center of the Jordan Valley Authority, a total of 873 violations have been detected since the start of the year. These included illegal siphoning of large quantities of water for farm irrigation and filling agricultural pools. The authorities also confiscated several water pumps. Additionally, 32 encroachments were discovered on state-owned land in the northern and southern Jordan Valley through 22 security campaigns and daily inspection tours. In the southern sections of the canal alone, 214 violations were detected in May and 112 in June. The authority reported that the efficiency of the canal was raised from 82% to 87% by removing illegal water lines and restoring the original conditions. Seven legal cases have been referred to court for further legal action, and violators have been summoned. The Jordan Valley Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the intense inspection campaigns across the Jordan Valley, emphasizing the importance of protecting water resources and enforcing the law. These measures have led to the recovery of hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of water that would have otherwise been illegally extracted. The Ministry and the Jordan Valley Authority also commended the support of official, local, and civil entities, particularly the Jordanian judiciary, including public prosecutors and judicial bodies, for their role in ensuring legal accountability and deterring future violations. The Jordan Valley Development Law and its amendments impose prison terms, fines, or both, on those who tamper with water networks and sources.
