The recognition reflects the strength of Wondershare's overall strategy and capabilities in AI-driven content development. These include EdrawMax, an all-in-one diagram maker, and Filmora, a video creativity software. Together, they reflect Wondershare's commitment to building intelligent, user-centered software that enhances how ideas are created, communicated, and shared.
As AI continues to reshape the learning and development landscape, Training Industry introduced a new structure for its 2025 recognition, dividing the AI in Training award into two distinct categories for the first time: AI Coaching and Learner Support and AI Content Creation and Authoring Tools. This shift reflects a growing clarity in how AI is being applied to solve specific challenges—from in-the-flow learner support to intelligent content generation. Wondershare was recognized in the latter category, which represents one of the most dynamic and fast-growing areas in corporate training.

Nearly 90% of videogame developers use AI agents, Google study shows

FILE PHOTO: People play online games at an internet cafe in Fuyang, Anhui province, China August 20, 2018. Picture taken August 20, 2018. REUTERS/Stringer/File Photo (Reuters) -A Google Cloud survey showed that 87% of videogame developers are using artificial intelligence agents to streamline and automate tasks, as the industry focuses on optimizing costs following a wave of record layoffs. Most of the respondents in the report, published on Monday, said AI was helping automate cumbersome and repetitive tasks, freeing developers to focus on more creative concerns. Gaming publishers have turned to AI to deal with the industry-wide challenge of ballooning development costs and elongated creation cycles stemming from high fan expectations and intense competition. The study, conducted by Google and The Harris Poll, surveyed 615 game developers in the U.S., South Korea, Norway, Finland, and Sweden in late June and early July. Around 44% of developers use agents to optimize content and process information such as text, voice, code, audio and video rapidly, enabling them to exercise autonomy and make decisions, the study showed. But the use of AI in videogames is a highly contentious topic, with many within the industry concerned over potential job losses, intellectual property disputes and lower pay. Last year, Hollywood's videogame performers went on strike over AI and pay issues, while studios shut down and more than 10,000 people lost their jobs. The industry is expected to gain momentum this year and the next, with the launch of premium titles and new consoles seen to boost spending. According to the survey, 94% of developers expect AI to reduce overall development costs in the long term. That, even as roughly one in four developers find it challenging to precisely measure the return on investment of their AI implementations, while costs associated with integrating the technology are also high. Around 63% of those surveyed expressed concerns over data ownership as the legality around licensing and who exactly owns AI-generated content remains unclear. Singapore prioritises jobs amid a fragmenting world and the rise of AI, says PM Lawrence Wong

Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is delivering his National Day Rally speech on Aug 17. -- The Straits Times Photo: Gavin Foo SINGAPORE (Bloomberg): Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said jobs for citizens will be the government's top priority as the city-state faces risks from rising global trade barriers and artificial intelligence. The impact of the US-China rivalry, President Donald Trump's tariff war and threats to workers from new technologies were the key challenges Wong highlighted in his annual National Day Rally speech on Sunday, marking the country's 60th year. "This next chapter opens in a more troubled and turbulent world,' Wong said. In his first major address since May's election, which extended the six-decade rule of the People's Action Party, Wong underscored plans to fortify the trade-reliant economy and strengthen social safety nets, as well as redevelop portions of the island and build new housing. Wong, 52, campaigned on the need to preserve stability amid slowing global growth and rising protectionism, arguing that the PAP was best placed to shield Singaporeans from economic shocks, including the impact of US tariff policies. "Ultimately, our economic strategy is about jobs, jobs and jobs - that's our number one priority,' he said. "We will do more to help Singaporeans seize new job opportunities.' Under Wong, the PAP had expanded social welfare policies, introducing the country's first unemployment benefits and channeling billions of dollars into subsidies for food, utilities and education. Of the country's roughly 6 million inhabitants, about 3.6 million are citizens. Singapore will "equip and empower every enterprise' to harness AI effectively, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, Wong said, adding that the island nation would launch a new job-matching initiative and a government-funded traineeship program for university graduates. Looking further ahead, Wong said the government will review its economic strategies "because the external shifts we see today are not temporary.' That will include how the country stays competitive, accesses green energy and helps its firms break into new overseas markets. "We need a new economic blueprint, to secure Singapore's future in a very different world,' Wong said. Last week, Singapore raised its growth forecast for this year after a better-than-expected performance in the first half, mainly on the back of front-loading ahead of US tariffs and easing trade worries. The government sees the economy expanding 1.5%-2.5% year-on-year, higher than an earlier 0%-2% outlook. -- ©2025 Bloomberg L.P.

Eletrobras partners with C3 AI to modernize Brazil's power grid

FILE PHOTO: A logo of sits outside the Meta House on the opening day of the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, January 20, 2025. REUTERS/Yves Herman/File Photo SAO PAULO (Reuters) -Brazilian power company Eletrobras has partnered with C3 AI to apply artificial intelligence to help operate the electric power transmission network in Latin America's largest economy, the two companies told Reuters on Monday. Eletrobras, Brazil's largest operator in the segment, will implement the C3 AI Grid Intelligence tool, which focuses on monitoring and resolving failures in real time, in all of its transmission assets. The value of the deal was not disclosed. The companies said in a joint statement that the use of artificial intelligence would increase the network's resilience and reliability at a large scale, by helping, for example, to correct failures more quickly. Eletrobras' investment in AI comes at a time when investments in electrical networks are gaining relevance worldwide, both as preparation for a more complex and dynamic operation of diversified electrical matrices, and as a security reinforcement in the face of extreme weather events. One of the main challenges faced by transmission companies in Brazil is fires near lines and substations. "We are modernizing critical network monitoring processes, which allows us to respond to incidents more effectively and agilely, ensuring system stability and availability," said Pablo Flores, Executive Manager of Protection, Automation and Control of Operating Systems at Eletrobras.
