Sri Datta's performance captivates audience
Born in 2011 to Vallabhajyosthula Pavan Kumar Sarma and Sri Valli, Sri Datta began his initial dance training under Yellajyosthula Anuradha and is currently receiving advanced training from renowned Kuchipudi exponent Dr Chinta Ravi Balakrishna.
Under the guidance of Dr Chinta Ravi Balakrishna, Sri Datta blossomed into a confident performer, impressing the august gathering with his poise and expressive dance. He captivated the audience with his performance of classical Kuchipudi items such as Gam Ganapathi, Tuluva Rajendra Sabdam, Krishnam Kalaya Sakhi, and Tillana.
On this occasion, veteran singer Kumara Suryanarayana and distinguished dance gurus Dr Pasumarthy Srinivasa Sarma, Dr Ch Ajay Kumar, Dr Usha Madhavi, Padma Shri Hemanth, and Yellajyothula Anuradha were felicitated by Sri Datta's parents, Vallabhajyothula Pavan Kumar Sarma and Sri Valli.
As a mark of respect and gratitude, Sri Datta also performed Gurupuja to his guru, Dr Chinta Ravi Balakrishna.

Artistic excellence mark Gurupujotsav
Vijayawada: Arunodaya Kala Samithi commemorated the 7th edition of its cherished Gurupujotsav on Sunday evening, enveloping the premises of Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College in an aura of spirituality, tradition, and artistic excellence. The evening commenced with Jyothi Prajwalana before the idol of Lord Nataraja, setting an auspicious tone for the celebrations. Under the guidance of Natya Guru Manzoosha Pakki, the stage was transformed into a sacred space of rhythm and devotion through a series of classical dance performances. The disciples of Arunodaya Kala Samithi enthralled the audience with a well-curated Kuchipudi recital, beginning with a soulful Ganesh Bhajan, followed by Tandava Nruthyakari, Brahmanjali, Dasavathara Shabdam, Ashtalakshmi Stotram, Tarangam, and Paras Thillana. Each piece reflected not only the technical rigor but also the spiritual essence of the art form. Adding to the diversity of the evening were Bharatanatyam presentations, including Tisra Alarippu and Vasantha Jathiswaram, showcasing the students' grace and disciplined training across classical forms. Post the performances, the Sabhakaryakramam began with Guru Vandanam, where students and guests paid heartfelt tributes to the guru. Madhurakavi Valiveti, the guest of honour, applauded Guru Manzoosha Pakki's tireless contribution to classical arts, describing her choreography of the Ashtalakshmi Stotram as 'distinctive and deserving of recognition.' Kandula Lakshmi Narsamma, Principal of GVR College of Music and Dance, praised the guru's unwavering dedication and offered a melodious tribute in song. Other distinguished speakers, including Madhavi Latha, Secretary of Asha Jyothi Foundation, and Ramaa Gayatri Karanam, Telugu teacher at DPS, expressed deep appreciation for both the guru and her devoted disciples. The evening also featured felicitations to the guests and a special honour for the students, acknowledging their dedication and sincerity. The emotional high point came with the Pada Pooja, a deeply symbolic and heartfelt offering of reverence by the students to their guru—a moment that left the audience visibly moved. The smooth and graceful execution of the event was credited to the seamless coordination by Madhuri and Vijay Mohan, whose efforts ensured a flawless experience for all in attendance. With artistry, devotion, and emotion woven together, the 7th Gurupujotsav stood as a radiant tribute to the timeless guru-shishya Parampara, inspiring all present with the enduring beauty of classical dance and the sacred bond it fosters.

Tribute to Kuchipudi guru with classical dances
Vijayawada: Onthe auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Hamsadhwani Kuchipudi Nrityalaya, Vijayawada paid rich tributes to Dr Ch Ajay Kumar, a renowned young Kuchipudi dance guru, through a grand Guru Puja held on Thursday evening at Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju Kala Vedika, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here. Continuing the revered tradition of honouring gurus on this sacred day, the disciples of Dr Ajay Kumar expressed their deep gratitude and reverence for their mentor. The event was marked by both devotion and celebration, with more than 200 dancers participating in the tribute. Among the participants were several of Ajay Kumar's senior disciples who have themselves grown into accomplished dance teachers. Notables among them included Niharika, Sushma, Padusha, Chaitanya, Vighnesh, Utpala, Sailaja, Pranathi, Divya, Kundanika, Sandep, Navya Suvarna, Prasanna, Surendra, Mohita, Monika, and Gayatri, all of whom once trained under Dr Ajay Kumar and are now imparting Kuchipudi to the next generation. The evening featured a vibrant lineup of classical Kuchipudi dance performances by current students including Abhinaya, Lasya, Vokaua, Pushkara, Saranya, Jyothika, Hussin, Bhargavi, Yamini, and Nikita. The dancers presented a repertoire of traditional compositions such as 'Swagata nrityam', 'Ganesh Stuti', 'Cheri Yashodaku', 'Chandana Cherchita', 'Alarulu Kuriyaga', 'Ananda Tandavam', 'Kattedura' and 'Tiruveedhulu', leaving the audience spellbound with their grace and precision. The event was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests: K Lakshminarasamma, Principal of the Music and Dance College, along with prominent dance gurus Ch Srinivas, 'Padmasri' Hemath, and Usha Madhavi, who graced the occasion and lauded the dedication of both guru and disciples.
