Siddhant Issar: My sister is like my mother—always protective and concerned about my well-being
As
Raksha Bandhan
approaches on August 9, actor Siddhant Issar opens up about the bond he shares with his elder sister, Nivriti (Kher). Now married, Nivriti continues to be a constant source of support in Siddhant's life.
Describing their relationship, Siddhant shares, 'The relationship between a brother and sister is mostly a mix of playful rivalry, but in our case, she's like my mother—always protective and concerned about my well-being. She's actually my backbone. We share a powerful and unique bond of love, support and caring.'
He reflects on the tradition of Raksha Bandhan with a personal twist. 'Rakhi is a celebration of ritual, in which a sister ties a thread and in return her brother promises protection.
But in our case it's always the opposite—I seek protection from her. Since childhood, she was the one who kept protecting me from the messes I created, whether in school or at home.'
The day is a family affair for him. 'We have our family arriving—from my buaji to mamaji—we all celebrate it together,' he adds.
Son of actor

, Siddhant recently married his Shanti Rasmein co-star Surbhi Shukla in a quiet ceremony in May. On the work front, he has been seen in Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Taandav and Mahima Mata Vaishno Devi, among other projects.

TMKOC: Disha Vakani Was 'Uncomfortable' In Rakhi Video With Asit Modi? Jennifer Mistry Claims
Disha Vakani used to play the iconic role of Dayaben in TMKOC. However, she has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for years now. Days after a video of Disha Vakani trying a rakhi to the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah maker Asit Kumarr Modi surfaced on social media, Jennifer Mistry has now claimed that the entire event was planned to 'clear image". In a recent interview, Mistry, who used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in TMKOC, claimed that Disha Vakani looked uncomfortable in her video with Asit Modi. 'Khisyani billi khambha nooche, it's been 17 years and till today, not even a single photo of Disha tying rakhi to Asit ji has surfaced. This time, the whole thing was recorded on video. Now, how will they clear this image? And they are saying that Disha went to Asit ji's house but actually Disha didn't go to Asit ji's house, Asit ji and Neela ji went to Disha's house. It was clearly visible that Disha was very uncomfortable and she was not smiling," she told Filmygyan. Have You Watched Asit Modi's Video With Disha Vakani? As Raksha Bandhan celebrations took over social media, fans were treated to a special moment shared by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi. He posted a warm video showing the rare presence of Disha Vakani, fondly known as 'Dayaben,' joining him and his wife for the festivities. The clip featured Disha tying a rakhi on Asit Modi and sharing a touching moment of mutual respect, leaving fans eager and hopeful for her return to the show. In his heartfelt caption, Modi wrote, 'Some relationships make destiny… Not blood, it is a relation of the heart ❤️! #dishavakani Not just our 'Daya Bhabhi', but my sister. For years, sharing laughter, memories and affinity, this relationship has gone far beyond the screen." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Asit Kumarr Modi (@officialasitkumarrmodi) Who Is Disha Vakani? Disha Vakani used to play the iconic role of Dayaben in TMKOC. However, she has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for years now. She went on maternity leave in 2018 and has not returned since. Just a few months ago, Asit Modi exclusively confirmed to News18 Showsha that Disha would not be returning to the popular sitcom. 'It is difficult for her now (to return to the show). For women, life changes after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. But I am still positive. I feel somewhere that god will do a miracle and she will return. If she comes, then it will be a good thing. If for some reason she does not come, then I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show," the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah creator said.
