Princess Eugenie is said to have formed an alliance with Prince William over their shared passion for the environment — a bond that has subtly reshaped the dynamics within the royal family behind closed doors.
The princess, 35, has recently strengthened her friendship with William and Kate Middleton, at a time when her once-close relationship with her cousin Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appears to have waned.

Experts have long said that William, 42, could call his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, into action once he becomes king.

Palace sources told The Post that the sisters are 'well aware' of the plans William has in store for them.
William and Eugenie's strengthened friendship has become increasingly visible at various royal events.
While Beatrice and Eugenie — whose parents are Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson — aren't working members of the royal family, the duo often steps up in an unofficial capacity when needed.

Last month, the pair hosted a series of garden parties at Buckingham Palace, shortly before the King's Foundation announced Eugenie as a mentor for its new '35 Under 35' network of change-makers.
Both royals have made marine protection central to their public work, leading to a natural closer bond, Hello! Magazine reports.
Bound by their shared commitment to protecting the world's oceans, the cousins have also found they make a great team — both on and off the water.

As a result, Eugenie has grown more distant to the Duke of Sussex, 40, given his long-standing feud with the Windsor clan.
'Eugenie has been supportive of Harry and Meghan for years and was right there at the beginning of their relationship — but it has now soured,' a source previously told the Sun.
The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

Prior to her rumored drift-apart from the Sussexes, Eugenie had remained on close terms with the pair for years after their shock departure from royal life in 2020.
She's seemingly the only royal who has visited the couple at their sprawling mansion in the Golden State, and was even featured in their 2022 Netflix documentary, 'Harry & Meghan.'

Mandy Patinkin, Kathryn Grody reveal secret to marriage: 'Not easy'

These two Hollywood legends are seasoned. Mandy Patinkin and his wife, Kathryn Grody, put their relationship onscreen while playing versions of themselves in their new TV series, 'Seasoned.' The idea for the show originated when 'The Princess Bride' star, 72, and Grody, 78, became unlikely Tiktok stars during the 2020 COVID pandemic. 'During the pandemic when everybody was terrified, including us, it surprised us that what was being captured could offer any kind of comfort to people,' Grody said, referring to how their videos went viral. The couple currently has over 2 million TikTok followers. 8 Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody attending the Tony Awards party at the Hilton Hotel in New York, June 8th 1980. And we found a lot of joy and pleasure in it, and led to working in the 2020 election, which felt even more significant,' Grody, a writer and Broadway star, added. 'The pleasure of working together did make us say 'yes' to anything.' Co-created by Ewen Wright and their real-life son, Gideon Grody-Patinkin, 'Seasoned' premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, and is currently looking for a buyer (it was originally set to air on Showtime, then got dropped amid reshuffling). The show follows Patinkin and Grody playing exaggerated versions of themselves (a la 'Curb Your Enthusiasm') as they have various comedic misadventures – such as not being able to get a table in a New York City restaurant, even when Patinkin name drops his past roles to the oblivious hostess. 8 Mandy Patinkin (center), Kathryn Grody and their son during 'Snow White' Anniversary Premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in 1987. They met doing a play called 'Split' at the Ensemble Studio Theater in NYC in 1978. 'I wouldn't ask her out until the play was over, because I got burned once, with somebody I was working with. When the play was over, we went out for the first brunch on Sunday at the Black Sheep Tavern at Greenwich and Washington Street on the corner,' Patinkin recalled to The Post. Brian Zak/Page Six 'I handed them to her and I said, 'I'm going to marry you.' And she said, 'You don't know what you're talking about. You're an actor, and a baby and you're gonna get hurt.'' Their son Gideon told The Post that he attributes their relationship success to 'having time apart' and having interests and work that give them 'space from each other.' Grody agreed that it helped that the couple was in 'different realms.' 'I did not have any interest particularly in television or movies,' she said. 'I think it helped that we really weren't at all competitive. I was very lucky, because I had a husband who enabled me to do an Off-Broadway play and be with my kids.' 8 Mandy Patinkin (L) and Kathryn Grody attend the 66th Annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre on June 10, 2012 in New York City. David Bloomer/SHOWTIME Patinkin revealed what he thinks is the secret to their relationship's longevity, too. 'I believe that when you meet someone, however old you are, whoever it is that you meet, look for that feeling that you can't explain, that you have no words for. Because the s–t will hit the fan down the road. And you will never forget that feeling when you're alone, quiet, and calming down from your fury. And that feeling will be the glue of your foreverness.' The Emmy-winning actor added about his wife, 'That's what we have. I'd never met anyone like her. And I knew it. And we've made it through a lot, and we're going to have a lot more to make it through. It's thrilling to me – that I have her to get through it with. Because it's not easy sometimes.'

Billionaire friend of Prince of Wales dies after ‘swallowing a bee'

A billionaire friend of Prince William has died aged 53 after swallowing a bee, it has been claimed. Sunjay Kapur, an Indian businessman, reportedly collapsed while playing polo yesterday in England. Mr Kapur, who was chairman of global car parts giant Sona Comstar, had paid tribute to the victims of the Air India plane crash on Thursday hours before he died. He posted: 'Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour.'Reports have suggested he was stung by a bee in the mouth, potentially sparking an anaphylactic shock causing a heart attack. In a tribute posted on X, Mr Kapur's school said they were 'deeply saddened' by his death. The billionaire attended the Doon School in Uttarakhand, a 90-year-old boarding school in northern India, and later served on its board of governors. The school, which was modelled on the British public school and charges £13,406 per year for Indian students, described Mr Kapur as a 'passionate fitness and sport enthusiast and a learner for life'. They added: 'He worked to make polo more accessible beyond its traditional roots. 'Mr Kapur's enduring commitment to excellence, service, and community leaves a lasting legacy.' Mr Kapur was once married to Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, 50, but the couple divorced. In an interview about her marriage in 2016, Ms Kapoor claimed Mr Kapur once left her to look after their child to play polo with William. Kapoor claimed: '[Sunjay] decided to carry on, leaving me behind to take care of our sick four-month-old son, just to play a Polo match with Prince William.' Princess Kate's Poignant Milestone in Cancer Journey

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Princess Kate is expected to attend Trooping the Colour this weekend, marking one year since her return to public life following her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales retreated from the public glare in the first half of 2024 after having abdominal surgery in January and later announcing a cancer diagnosis. As she avoided the limelight, social media users circulated increasingly morbid conspiracy theories, with some even suggesting the palace was covering up her death. The annual military parade, which Kate attended last June while undergoing chemotherapy, served as her first official appearance following her cancer announcement. On Saturday, the princess—who said in January that she was in remission—is expected to return for another Trooping the Colour, King Charles III's birthday parade. BENJAMIN CREMEL/AFP via Getty Images The 'Where Is Kate Middleton' Conspiracy Theories Kate's team announced at the time of her abdominal surgery in January 2024 that she would spend a period of time out of the public eye. However, when there were no post-surgery images of the princess, the rumor mill went into overdrive—with Kim Kardashian among high profile figures to join the social media trend of asking, "Where is Kate Middleton." Amid a clamor for "proof of life" images of Kate following her surgery, the palace marked Mother's Day in the U.K. with an image of the princess surrounded by her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The photo caused its own controversy, however, when it emerged that Kate had made numerous edits to the image. International picture agencies issued a "kill notice" instructing news outlets not to use it. Kate apologized on X, formerly Twitter, but the palace declined to release an original image, further fueling conspiracy theorists. Princess Kate Announces She Has Cancer On March 22, Kate released a recorded video announcing that she had been diagnosed with cancer and needed time away from the public eye. "In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous," the princess said. She continued: "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment. "This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. "As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK." Kate Chooses Trooping the Colour for Her Comeback Despite the gravity of her diagnosis, some social media users continued to create pressure for a public appearance from Kate by suggesting that her March video was AI generated. Two months after her announcement, Kate stepped out before the world's media, choosing a quintessentially royal moment for her comeback. The princess accompanied her children during the carriage procession of Trooping the Colour wearing an outfit inspired by Eliza Doolittle, the commoner who pretends to be a duchess, in My Fair Lady. Her appearance at the event was later described as a "boost to the nation." Louis likewise captured the hearts of the British public by dancing on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
