How it helps you: It gives you a second chance to secure a confirmed seat before it's too late — without constantly rechecking the app. "MakeMyTrip has also introduced Sold-out Alerts, a feature that prompts timely action as seat availability begins to drop. Once activated, it notifies users when tickets on their selected train fall below a defined threshold, allowing them to book before confirmed seats run out. Paired with the Seat Availability Forecast, it adds another layer of visibility and control to the planning experience," the company said in a statement. 'We are focussed on our mission to anticipate and address the nuanced needs of Indian rail passengers. Indore joins India's metro map: Madhya Pradesh gets its first urban rail line; key details here
In a major infrastructure milestone for Madhya Pradesh, Indore has officially joined India's growing metro network with the launch of the state's first metro rail service. The inauguration took place on May 31, 2025, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging off the metro virtually from Bhopal during an event marking the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar, a revered figure in the region's history. The newly launched metro in Indore begins with a 6.3-km "Super Priority Corridor," connecting Gandhi Nagar Station to Super Corridor-3. This stretch includes five operational stations: Gandhi Nagar, Super Corridor-6, Super Corridor-5, Super Corridor-4, and Super Corridor-3. To encourage citizens to explore the new transit system, the metro is offering free rides for the first seven days. After the promotional week, ticket prices will range from INR 20 to INR 30, depending on the distance traveled. At the moment, the metro has three coach trains that can carry up to 980 passengers each. But when demand increases, the infrastructure is built to handle future six-coach trains, enabling a higher passenger volume. To make commuting easier, the trains are outfitted with contemporary features including real-time tracking, AI-based control systems, and QR code-based ticketing. The long-term plan for the Indore Metro envisions a total network of 31.32 km covering 28 stations across the city. The agreement was signed during the 81st International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in New the revised agreement, the two carriers will place their designator codes on 17 routes connecting India, Mauritius, Réunion, South Africa, and India will now place its 'AI' code on Air Mauritius-operated flights to and from Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and Antananarivo in Madagascar. This arrangement will allow passengers to travel from India to these destinations via Mauritius on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to the final destination.'India is one of the largest tourism source markets for destinations in Southern Africa, including Mauritius and South Africa, as well as a trade partner to the region. This expanded codeshare partnership with Air Mauritius is another step toward widening our extended global network, which enables our customers to easily access these destinations," said Campbell Wilson, CEO and managing director of Air Air India already codeshares on Air Mauritius flights between Mauritius and Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Réunion.
