During Monday's play, temperatures in Mason, Ohio - where the tournament takes places, soared as high as 32C.
Rinderknech and Auger-Aliassime had played a tight first set, with the Canadian pinching it in a tiebreak.
With Auger-Aliassime about to serve at 2-2 in the second set, Rinderknech fell down.
The Frenchman had been trudging towards the back of the court.
After grabbing a towel from a ballboy, Rinderknech wiped his face before sinking to the ground.
As the 30-year-old lay on his back, breathing deeply, both Auger-Aliassime and the umpire jogged over to check whether he was okay.
After being checked on by supervisor Nacho Forcadell and a member of tournament staff, Rinderknech was able to rise to his knees.

August 12 - Spencer Torkelson smacked a go-ahead solo home run in the ninth inning and Chris Paddack and three relievers combined on a four-hitter to boost the visiting Detroit Tigers to a 2-1 victory against the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Torkelson went 2-for-4 as Detroit won for the third time in four games. Six White Sox pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts, but the team was unable to mount a consistent attack. Chicago has lost seven of eight. Torkelson connected against Brandon Eisert for his 26th home run, a shot off the left-field foul pole that put him one behind Riley Greene for the club lead. Eisert (2-4) allowed one run and two hits in 2/3 of an inning. A 63-minute rain delay stalled the game with two outs in the top of the ninth. Kyle Finnegan (2-4) picked up the victory with a scoreless eighth and Will Vest was perfect in the bottom half of the ninth to earn his 17th save in 22 opportunities. Kyle Teel collected two hits for Chicago. White Sox opener Elvis Peguero, claimed off waivers from Milwaukee this month, shined at the start of his club debut. Peguero struck out the side in the first inning on 11 pitches and retired Torkelson on a popup leading off the second, but Detroit solved the right-hander after that. Greene doubled and scored on Dillon Dingler's RBI single two batters later to put the Tigers on top. Peguero took a no-decision, scattering one run and three hits in 1 2/3 innings with zero walks and three strikeouts. Left-hander Tyler Alexander kept Chicago steady after that, spacing two hits, one walk and five strikeouts in 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Detroit loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth, but Alexander worked out of trouble by striking out Zach McKinstry. Colson Montgomery tied the game with a solo home run to lead off the fifth inning. The rookie blasted his 10th homer of the season, lining a pitch from Paddack into the stands in right field. Jake Burger's RBI hit in 10th lifts Rangers over D-backs
August 12 - Jake Burger's pinch-hit single off the left field wall in the 10th inning produced the walk-off run as the Texas Rangers roared from behind to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6 on Monday in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers were down 5-0 and 6-1 before working their way back into the game. They tied it on Rowdy Tellez's solo home run off Andrew Hoffmann to open the ninth. In the 10th, Arizona reliever Andrew Saalfrank (0-1) intentionally walked Corey Seager before a fly ball moved automatic runner Sam Haggerty to third base. Burger then delivered on a 1-2 pitch. Phil Maton (2-3) pitched a perfect top of the 10th and was the beneficiary of Burger's hit. Texas, which pounded out 11 hits, ended a four-game losing skid by taking the opener of a three-game interleague series. The Diamondbacks had a three-game winning streak snapped. The Diamondbacks, who also had 11 hits, jumped on Texas ace Nathan Eovaldi for three home runs over the first three innings. August 12 - Chas McCormick and Ramon Urias slugged two-run home runs in support of Cristian Javier, who enjoyed a triumphant return from Tommy John surgery in the Houston Astros' 7-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Monday. The Astros produced a surprising offensive showing against Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet (13-5) and survived a late-inning rally from the Red Sox, who strung together five two-out hits in their four-run seventh to whittle down a five-run deficit. Houston erased a 2-0 deficit by posting a three-run third that featured an opposite-field RBI single from Carlos Correa and a two-run double by Christian Walker. The Astros extended that lead to 5-2 an inning later when McCormick blasted his first home run of the season to left-center field, driving home Urias, who opened that frame with a double.
