PM reaffirms Egypt's support for Palestinian statehood, rejection of displacement plans
In a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa in the coastal city of New Alamein, Madbouly stressed Egypt's commitment to ending Gaza war and supporting the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
He reiterated Egypt's rejection of continued settlement expansion, home demolitions, and attempts to alter the demographic reality on the ground. Madbouly also underlined Egypt's ongoing humanitarian support through the Rafah border crossing and its diplomatic efforts with Qatar and the United States to broker a ceasefire and ensure sustainable aid delivery.
The two sides discussed preparations for a Cairo conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, which Egypt plans to host following a ceasefire.
Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Minister Badr Abdelatty praised the level of Egyptian-Palestinian coordination and emphasized the importance of engaging international donors in the post-conflict recovery phase. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to the two-state solution as the only path toward lasting peace.

Israel, however, rejects responsibility, claiming that Hamas has diverted aid shipments. The poll found that 65 percent of Americans believe the United States should take direct measures to help civilians in Gaza facing starvation, while 28 percent opposed such action. Furthermore, 59 percent of respondents said Israel's military response in Gaza has been excessive, compared with 33 percent who disagreed. FM holds intensive talks on Gaza ceasefire efforts
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held separate phone calls on Tuesday with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and Vice Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee and Deputy President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al-Sheikh, as part of intensive international contacts to support efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza. The talks reviewed the latest regional developments, foremost the situation in Gaza. Abdelatty outlined Egypt's mediation efforts in cooperation with Qatar and the United States to reach a ceasefire, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, and secure the release of hostages and detainees. He pointed to significant progress achieved, reflected in recent Cairo consultations with a Palestinian delegation on the proposal presented by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, which was accepted by Hamas. The top diplomat stressed that the ball is now in Israel's court and underscored the need for pressure on Tel Aviv to accept the proposal, which would help alleviate the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He also highlighted preparations underway to host an international conference on Gaza's early recovery and reconstruction once a ceasefire agreement is reached. The officials, for their part, expressed appreciation for Egypt's pivotal mediation role in coordination with Qatar and the US, reaffirming their full support for Egypt's efforts to advance peace and stability in the region.
