Each play was a unique offering by a different writer-director duo, showcasing the creative spirit of Nagpur's theatre scene — something Darwhekar always championed. The event, held at the Scientific Society Hall, marked the beginning of a year-long celebration of Darwhekar's life and legacy. The evening began with Pathishi Krushna Hawa (We need Krishna to support us), an all-woman play written and directed by Animasiddhi Kulkarni.
