Catherine Zeta-Jones insists owning 4 homes is ‘not excessive'
The Mask of Zorro star and her husband, Michael Douglas, own four properties — two homes in New York, one in Canada and one in Spain, Page Six reports.
'I know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty but it's not excessive, it's very comfortable,' the 55-year-old Oscar-winner told the Sunday Times.
The Wednesday actress also said she wasn't afraid to splurge on non-practical items.
'I go to all the vintage stores in Paris,' she shared. 'I buy things that you are probably never going to wear, like a gorgeous cape, just great pieces.
'I am loving classic Yves Saint Laurent at the moment. I get excited about evening dresses.'
'For me, a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans. Spending £200 ($A416) on a white T-shirt? Nah,' she continued.
'But when it comes to couture, beautiful beading, the artistry … I love the theatre of fashion.'

Zeta-Jones passed her love of fashion and for the finer things to her 22-year-old daughter, Carys.
'She loves my closet,' the mother of two told the outlet. 'I have probably the biggest Fendi Baguette bag collection, and she's just found more in my mum's house. I've got everything from denim to pearl to sequins.'
A Fendi Baguette bag currently retails for up to $US11,500 ($A17,700).
'Carla Fendi used to give them to me all the time, right when they were hot potatoes,' she added.
Zeta-Jones also joked about her and Douglas, 80, keeping their Oscars in separate houses.
She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2003 for her role as Velma Kelly in Chicago, and Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Gordon Gekko in 1988's Wall Street.
'Mine is in the country house in New York, Michael's is in the apartment in New York,' she revealed.
'We keep them apart, just in case, you know, there isn't like hanky-panky going on there.'
The Welsh actress noted that she and her husband respect each other's space. They've been married since November 2000 and share two kids together: Carys and their 25-year-old son, Dylan.
'We don't listen to the crap that is written about us, that's the main thing,' she said of their relationship.
'And we respect our space, we're independent spirits. We are very similar; we were born on the same day, 25 years apart.'
'We're not afraid to be verbal, to express ourselves,' she continued. 'I wear everything on my sleeve and so does he, which is good.'
Zeta-Jones addressed Douglas telling Variety last month that he's 'purposely' stepped away from his acting career and has no intentions of going back.
'Michael has definitely earned the chance to slow down,' Zeta-Jones commented, noting that he now plans to play a lot more golf.
'But I never say never. He's his father's son and loves to work — let's just say, 'retirement' is a flexible concept.'

Nothing screams luxury like a top-notch yacht, so it's no wonder Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has been hosting Max Verstappen on his boat in a bid to woo the popular driver away from Red Bull. The Formula One World Champion, 27, has been spotted sunning himself topless on the vessel just off the coast of Sardinia. He owns 33-metre yacht Unleash the Lion, which is thought to be worth £11million. It can hold up to 12 guests alongside five crew, meaning Max and partner Kelly Piquet have ample space for entertaining as well as room for their daughter, Lily, born in May. It has an open deck to the rear which is fitted with white couches and is thought to have an area to store a speed boat. He also has a large stateroom inside, but little else is known about the pricey vessel's interior. Max moored the yacht in Monaco this year when he was competing in the principality's Grand Prix but he hasn't posted photos since its purchase earlier this year. It has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen and a spacious upper deck living area. And he's been showing the yacht off on his social media with girlfriend Carmen Mundt, 26, and a host of friends on board. They also have a stash of pricey water toys and the racer has posted videos of him and others on a hydrofoil skimming across the sea. Each yacht from the brand is a bespoke creation for the buyer. The 18.3m long vessel is solar-powered, giving the boat eco-friendly credentials that most yachts don't have. 'I think [Sunreef] is the only company that takes sustainability to a very serious level,' said Alonso during an interview with BOAT International. It's equipped with two 360kw electric motors and a set of 990kwh batteries which are solar powered – making the yacht essentially silent when moving. The Aston Martin F1 team owner downsized from his original yacht, Faith, to Project 714 in March – and has now also renamed it Faith. The upper decks, enclosed in glass, contain a swimming pool, a games deck and a helicopter landing pad with a hangar below, according to Luxury Launches. Inside, there are seven guest cabins which can hold up to 14 people as well as space for 20 crew members. Faith isn't a small vessel at 262ft long and reportedly has a swimming pool on board. LEWIS HAMILTON British driver Lewis, 40, is also a member of the F1 yacht club with Sunseeker 90, which he is thought to have bought in 2009 for around £2.9million. And when he's not feeling like being on his own boat, he charters other vessels that boast a bigger range of rooms and activities. Sunseeker 90 is 91.9feet and can sleep up to eight guests. CHARLES LECLERC Ferrari driver Charles, 27, appears to be a big fan of spending time on both his yachts – because who would have one when you could have two? He owns a Riva 66 Ribelle named Sedici, which is Italian for sixteen – his race number – and a Riva Dolceriva open cruiser. Ariela La Longosta: New York-based influencer found dead in car from ‘gunshot wounds'
New York-based influencer Ariela La Longosta has been found dead inside her car with US police confirming she was discovered with gunshot wounds. The 33-year-old social media sensation's death was confirmed by Westchester County Police Department in New York, who said the model was found dead on the Cross County Parkway at the weekend. Following a preliminary investigation, police determined that Longosta died of gunshot wounds and was 'likely targeted for violence,' according to a statement shared on Facebook. 'The woman found deceased in her car on the Cross County Parkway on Sunday died as a result of gunshot wounds, the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed today,' police said in a statement. 'Her death was not a random act. 'The homicide remains under investigation by detectives from the General Investigations Unit. Assistance has been provided by other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies during the continuing investigation.' Longosta has more than 566,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly posted fashion and modelling content. Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons list Sydney home for $23 million
Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons have listed their longtime family home in Sydney for a staggering $23 million. The TV journalist, 65, and her author husband, 64, are making the decision to downsize from their sprawling 3125 sqm Cremorne property now their three children have moved out. They purchased the landmark estate in 1998 for a reported $2.95 million. Boasting harbour views, a tennis court, a heated pool, lush landscaping and six bedrooms, the palatial mansion was built in 1903, and is described as a 'magnificent example of superbly preserved Federation architecture.' The media power couple, who married in 1992, have made shrewd property purchases together over the years. Prior to taking up residence in Cremorne, they doubled their wealth by selling their marital home in Mosman for $1.65 million in the late '90s, having purchased it in 1993 for $855,000. Former Today co-host Wilkinson has been on a career hiatus since leaving the now defunct program The Project in November 2022.
