Teen charged over underworld shooting

A teenager has been charged over the fatal shooting that claimed the life of a suspected Alameddine associate earlier this year. Dawood Zakaria, 32, an alleged gangland associate, died in hospital in May after being ambushed and shot in the head in what police suspect was a targeted drive-by shooting in western Sydney. Now police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his alleged role in the underworld shooting, with Taskforce Falcon detectives descending on an address in Guildford on Wednesday morning. Taskforce Falcon have arrested a teenager over the alleged murder of Dawood Zakaria and the attempted murder of another. NSW Police media Credit: Supplied The man has been charged with a slew of offences, including murder, shooting with intent to murder, dealing with the proceeds of crime, drug supply, two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, illegally possessing ammunition and failing to comply with a digital access order. He was refused bail and is expected to face Paramatta Local Court on Thursday. Solicitor Sylvan Singh was injured in the shooting. Supplied Credit: Supplied It's understood the shooting – which claimed the life of Mr Zakaria and seriously injured Sydney solicitor Sylvan Singh – was intended for alleged Alameddine crime gang member Samimjan Azari, who was in the back seat with his bodyguard Levi Vitukawalu. It was the second attempt on Mr Azari's life. He escaped another attempted hit in Brighton Le Sands – in a group alongside Mr Zakaria – uninjured almost three months before. The 19-year-old was refused bail and is expected to face Paramatta Local Court on Thursday. NSW Police media Credit: Supplied NSW Police originally set up Strike Force Arrino to investigate the shooting but Taskforce Falcon took over just days after when it was established to combat Sydney-based violent crime. 'The recent violence on our streets is horrific,' NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley said at the time. 'We won't tolerate these lawless thugs playing out their vendettas in our communities.'

Musk ex looking for new home after eviction battle

Elon Musk's baby mama Ashley St. Clair revealed she is broke and 'getting evicted' from her home amid her ongoing paternity battle with the billionaire SpaceX mogul. The conservative influencer launched the Bad Advice podcast this week, uploading the first episode to Musk's X platform, the New York Post reports. 'Well, after a year of unplanned career suicide, many questionable life choices and a gap in my LinkedIn profile that cannot legally be explained, I've decided to start a podcast,' Ms St. Clair said in the 30-minute clip. 'Unlike your Ben Shapiros or your Megyn Kellys, I'm not starting this because I think my big brain thoughts and my podcast mic are the greatest gift to humanity. 'I actually think I have the worst ideas, so consider everything out of my mouth a cautionary tale,' she quipped. Ms St. Clair, who claimed to have given birth to Elon Musk's 13th child in an X post in February, stated she was getting 'evicted' and had secured an essential $US10,000 ($A15,000) sponsorship from trade company Polymarket for the episode. Musk has yet to confirm whether he is the father of her child, Romulus. She previously told The Post that Musk provided her with a lavish apartment in New York's Financial District — where rent for a two-bedroom can soar to nearly $US40,000 ($A61,000), according to StreetEasy. The $US15,000 ($A24,000)-a-month New York apartment boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms, features large windows, wood flooring, and sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, Realtor reports. According to records, the apartment was last leased in April 2024 for $US15,350 ($A23,790) a month. St. Clair's social media images indicate that she has been living there since at least May of that year — a few months before she claims she gave birth to Musk's child. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal in April, Ms St. Clair alleged her decision to go public with her claims that Musk fathered her son led to a breakdown in their previously amicable relationship. Before she posted on X, the conservative firebrand said the billionaire had offered her $US15 million ($A23 million) as well as $US100,000 ($A154,000) a month in support payments if she agreed to remain silent about the identity of Romulus' father. She told the outlet that she refused the offer, largely out of concern that the arrangement would make her son feel illegitimate, while also leaving her with little financial security in the event that something happened to Musk before her child turned 21. However, the mother of two claimed to the Wall Street Journal that her financial situation had taken a serious turn for the worse in the time since she had been living in the apartment — and she accused Musk of repeatedly slashing her support payments, just as her legal fees were skyrocketing. After she chose to speak out about the circumstances of her son's conception and birth, Ms St. Clair claimed Musk withdrew his offer to pay her $US15 million ($A23 million), while the alleged $US100,000 ($A154,000)-a-month support payments were cut to $US40,000 ($A61,000). She told the outlet that she didn't receive her 'scheduled child support payment' on April 11 — one day after the Journal contacted Musk for a comment about her story. On April 15, hours before the report was published, she says a reduced payment of $US20,000 ($A31,000) was sent to her. The South Africa-born Tesla founder had five children with his first wife, Justine Wilson — twins Vivian and Griffin and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian. The son Nevada died from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old in 2002. Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis also share twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia and son Seldon Lycurgus.

Swifties call out pop star's vinyl variant cash grab for new record amid cost-of-living pressures

They made their queen a billionaire buying all of the tickets and the merch and the seemingly endless versions of her last album, but many Swifties aren't happy about the pop mogul's latest vinyl drop. Swift issued four different cover versions of her 12th album Life of a Showgirl when she launched the new record last week on the New Heights podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. While she insisted there would be no deluxe versions of this record, she did drop two vinyl 'variants' called 'The Shiny Bug Collection' on Tuesday featuring a revealing new cover photo. The Shiny Bug editions were offered in 'violet shimmer marbled' and 'wintergreen and onyx marbled' vinyl and sold out in less than an hour. But some fans were not having it. Hot Hits pop guru Nic Kelly and Hit Network Workdays host Seany B, both mega-Swifties, issued a message to fans saying 'you don't need to buy this right now.' The hosts said the Shiny Bug vinyl variant drop was disappointing from an environmental perspective and placed financial pressure on diehard collectors who felt compelled to buy everything Swift was selling. The surprise announcements, with a limited window of time to pre-order the variants, meant 'no one was prepared' for the hit to their credit card. Seany B said fans were over-extending themselves on buy now, pay later services to purchase the coveted collector versions. 'There are so many kids out there, young people, they can't afford these … they're doing things that they shouldn't be doing to pay for these things because they feel like they need it,' the radio host said. Swift released at least 36 vinyl, CD, cassette and digital editions of her last record The Tortured Poets Department. Kelly said the strategy was to keep the record at No. 1 for as many weeks as possible but played on the desire of superfans to be seen as the biggest collectors of Swift's music and merchandise. 'You don't have to buy all of them. And this was the thing that annoyed me around Tortured Poets Department, and annoyed some of the Swifties as well, it was (a new one) every week because she was trying to get that record for the most amount of weeks at No. 1,' he said. 'So when you release a new deluxe (version), a new track, a new variant, that adds towards the sales of the original album.' Seany B said he was against the vinyl variant strategy because 'I don't like what it does to the fandom.' And there were plenty of fans saying the same thing on social media. They were disappointed the Shake It Off star announced the vinyl variants instead of dropping a new single from the record. '(I don't know) y'all kinda just gotta stop falling for this shit, it's always a vinyl variant,' one Reddit commenter said. 'Like I say this as a big fan, u gotta stop convincing yourself that a countdown on her store is anything other than merch or vinyls.' Another post called on fans to boycott any future vinyl versions of Life of a Showgirl that Swift may sell via her online store. 'You know, if we all collectively stopped buying this, maybe just maybe she'd stop pulling all these stunts!' the fan posted.
