Joe Schoen's Giants Returning to 'Hard Knocks'

The New York Giants were the first team to be featured on the offseason edition of 'Hard Knocks.' They may very well be the last. It was an abject disaster, most notably due to the discussions between general manager Joe Schoen and running back Saquon Barkley. The football world saw Barkley trek from the Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening days of free agency. But watching Schoen justify not paying him, along with owner John Mara suggesting that he wouldn't be able to sleep at night without his franchise player in blue and white. Advertisement The show added insult to injury … and then Barkley ran for 2,000 yards on the way to a Super Bowl. Schoen, the man most scorned by HBO's football docuseries, might have to be more reserved in 2025. Reported by Art Stapleton (and later announced by the league), the Giants will return to 'Hard Knocks' for the 2025 season, joining their NFC East rivals for the in-season version of the show. Fortunately for Schoen, this means New York won't have to worry about free agency and the NFL Draft showing up on camera. It does open the door for early-season struggles to become a mainstay on the show, though. The Giants face a gauntlet of a 2025 schedule, opening with the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys before dates with the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. There's a lot of room for things to go wrong, and with a first-round quarterback in Jaxson Dart potentially pushing for playing time, things could get chaotic. Advertisement At the very least, New York should only see a quarter of the show's coverage. The Washington Commanders, for the first time with Jayden Daniels under center, are dealing with the burden of expectations. The Philadelphia Eagles are champions looking to repeat in a tough division, and the Dallas Cowboys are no strangers to the spotlight. Between owner Jerry Jones, a proclivity for pandemonium, and the scrutiny facing quarterback Dak Prescott, the Giants may be shielded by their more competitive peers. Last year's in-season edition debuted early in December, giving fans something to look forward to as the autumn games commence. Saquon Barkley's Madden Cover Sparks Malik Nabers Conversation

Saquon Barkley's Madden Cover Sparks Malik Nabers Conversation originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In the 15 months since running back Saquon Barkley left the New York Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles, the losses have continued to mount. Advertisement He quickly set the league ablaze with the help of an elite offensive line, trampling the Giants for 176 yards and a score in his return to East Rutherford. Barkley then joined the 2,000-yard club, had a historic playoff run, and ultimately won the Super Bowl. New York won three games. Oh, and he pulled off the most famous highlight of the season, reverse hurdling over Jacksonville Jaguars corner Jarrian Jones. That play landed him on the cover of Madden NFL 26, with the game recreating the jump heard around the (football) world. "When you get the call, you don't know what to expect, right? And they ask you, 'Do you want to be part of the Madden cover?' I don't know if anyone's turned that down," Barkley said Monday, via "I definitely wasn't gonna turn that down, the opportunity. I know so many people, so many kids that dream and would love to be in the position I am right now. I remember as a kid wanting to be part of the Madden cover. There have been so many players that have been part of the Madden cover. Now to be mentioned and have my name attached with those guys, words really can't describe it." Advertisement Barkley's Madden cover sparked Giants fans' imagination, too, as they wondered when their favorite team would return to EA Sports' spotlight. The obvious answer, of course, is receiver Malik Nabers. A 2024 first-round pick, Nabers entered the league with plenty of fanfare, then took the sport's biggest market by storm. It took him a month to prove himself worthy of elite consideration, logging two 100-yard games. Nabers is New York's best offensive player, a highlight machine, and incredibly marketable. With better quarterback play on the way, it's easy to see him going nuclear and forcing himself into that conversation in a year's time. Nabers would be the first Giants star to grace the cover since receiver Odell Beckham Jr., whose one-handed catch thrust him into a different stratosphere of fame. An LSU product with unlimited athleticism and the production to match, he shares a similar story to Nabers. The New York faithful hope their newest offensive phenom (or his rookie quarterback) can reach those same heights. Advertisement For now, they'll have to see Barkley on the cover each time they log on. "I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches, and Eagles fans for their support," Barkley said in a statement. "And I can't wait to hit the field again to give Madden players more highlight-reel moments in Madden NFL 26." Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce

Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift appear to be stepping up their public appearances of late. First, they were seen out at dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, and a couple of days later, they were "spotted" again, but this one is a little different. Photos have now been emerging online of Kelce and Swift attending the wedding of Travis' cousin in Tennessee, with the pair posing for photos with several guests. And one of those guests was Cheyenne Rust, who posted on her Instagram of the surreal experience of having the Grammy winner at the wedding. "I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. Still can't believe we met Taylor while celebrating the Corums! She was as kind, down-to-earth, and lovely as you'd hope. What a surreal, sparkly moment I'll never forget," she posted via A video also shows Travis and Swift dancing in their seats as the bride and groom go through what looks to be their first dance as a married couple. So the pair is clearly enjoying their time together before the NFL season starts. With Travis and Swift dating for over two years, some are wondering what is next for the pair in their relationship. They were reported to be house hunting a couple of months ago; others think that they might move in together or even get married. But right now, they seem to be enjoying each other's company before the NFL season begins and Kelce starts what could be his final year.
