UAE President holds phone calls with French President, Italian Prime Minister to discuss bilateral ties, regional developments

ABU DHABI (WAM)President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held separate telephone conversations with His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, during which they discussed strategic relations and ways to strengthen them across various fields in support of shared interests.During the calls, His Highness also exchanged views with the French President and Italian Prime Minister on developments in the Middle East following the Israeli military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
They underscored the need for maximum restraint and for intensifying efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through diplomatic means that preserve the region's security and stability.

Kyiv says Iran attacks on Israel kill five Ukrainians
Israel unleashed a barrage of strikes across Iran Sunday stretching from the west to Tehran and Mashhad in the east. With no let-up in sight, Iran said it would begin opening mosques, metro stations and schools to serve as makeshift bomb shelters for civilians, as Israel kept up its withering blows. Iranian missile fire targeting Israel killed at least 10 people overnight, according to authorities, pushing the death toll up to 13 since Iran began its retaliatory strikes Friday, with 380 reported injured. Iranian media, citing the health ministry, meanwhile reported at least 128 killed in Israeli attacks from Friday to Saturday, including women and children, with 900 more reported injured. Kyiv said Sunday that Iran's retaliatory attacks on Israel over its massive air strikes killed five Ukrainian nationals, including three children, in Israel's Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, when a missile hit a residential building in the city.

Cars detonate in Iran, Iranian nuclear scientists a part of casualties
A number of car bombs were set off in the capital of Iran, with the state agency IRNA reporting that Israel-linked saboteurs were responsible for the attack. According to two sources speaking to Reuters, at least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed in Israeli attacks since Friday, including in car bombs.
