The Renaissance Club has thoroughly prepared to host the 2025 edition of the Genesis Scottish Open, the seventh to be played at the North Berwick venue. Among the improvements planned for this year is the renovation of the par-3 6th hole, which has been converted into a true stadium hole.
As you may recall, the 6th hole has always been surrounded by stands, but it has never been completely enclosed in the way it was designed for this edition. The idea is reminiscent of the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, albeit on a smaller scale.

Rory Colville, Genesis Scottish Open Championship Director, explained to The Scotsman that the stadium hole is part of the entertainment package designed for the enjoyment of the entire family during the tournament:
"The Sixth Hole Stadium Experience is undoubtedly the place to be to take in the action in a fun-filled environment, while the Fan Zone including the Fringe by the Tee stage offers the perfect place to enjoy some time outside of the ropes," he said.
Among the activities taking place on the 6th hole is the opportunity for young fans to walk that section of the course with professional stars during the Pro-Am next Wednesday.

This hole is also part of the so-called "Fan Zone," where Grammy-nominated and Brit Award-winning artist KT Tunstall will perform after the third round next Saturday.
The stadium hole could be one of the highlights of the week, with fans taking center stage. They will be given the chance to predict which player will be the first to hit an ace there, and whoever guesses correctly will receive a VIP experience to the Genesis Championship in Korea, to be played next October.
