Scottish Open start and finish times change due to key weather update as Sunday gates to open later
Tee-times altered for the final round of the tournament Genesis Scottish Open chiefs have been forced to change the start times for Sunday's final round due to forecasted haar. With dense sea fog in the area in the morning and evening, tee times for day four have been adjusted. Just as on the opening two days, there will now be a two-tee start from the first and 10th etween approximately 11.30pm and 1.40pm. The final putt is expected to be at approximately 7pm with changes also made to the entry times for the huge crowd set to attend. Gates will now open one hour later than previously advised at 9am. The FanZone, including Fringe by the Tee stage and catering outlets, will also be open from 9am. On Saturday, play with the cut-field of 80 for the weekend, got underway at 8.50am with Justin Thomas and Bob MacIntyre leading the groupings. Two years ago, the final day times were brought forward due to forecast bad weather with Rory McIlroy getting the better of MacIntyre in an epic finale. Crowds have piled into The Renaissance over the course of the tournament with Saturday's action a complete a sell-out. A record attendance is expected across the week at the event co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, with the capacity of 23,000 reached for day three. Rory Colville, Genesis Scottish Open Championship Director, said: 'The Genesis Scottish Open has continued to grow every year, with the stars of global golf gathering at Renaissance Club, and an increased fan experience, including the Fringe by the Tee stage in the Fan Zone and the Sixth Hole Stadium Experience. 'We're looking forward to a fantastic weekend of golf and entertainment, and welcoming our best ever crowd to the event.' Saturday at the Genesis Scottish Open also includes a headline set from Grammy-nominated, Brit Award-winning artist KT Tunstall on the Fringe by the Tee stage. Fans will turn out in their droves again for the final day, but the adjustment of timings will mean a slight tweaking of plans for those attending the event to see the conclusion and the 2025 winner crowned.

The Renaissance Club has thoroughly prepared to host the 2025 edition of the Genesis Scottish Open, the seventh to be played at the North Berwick venue. Among the improvements planned for this year is the renovation of the par-3 6th hole, which has been converted into a true stadium hole. As you may recall, the 6th hole has always been surrounded by stands, but it has never been completely enclosed in the way it was designed for this edition. The idea is reminiscent of the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, albeit on a smaller scale. ⛳️🏟️🏴 #LOOK — The Scottish Open will feature a new 'stadium hole' at the 147 yard Par-3 sixth. Among the activities taking place on the 6th hole is the opportunity for young fans to walk that section of the course with professional stars during the Pro-Am next Wednesday. This hole is also part of the so-called "Fan Zone," where Grammy-nominated and Brit Award-winning artist KT Tunstall will perform after the third round next Saturday. The stadium hole could be one of the highlights of the week, with fans taking center stage. They will be given the chance to predict which player will be the first to hit an ace there, and whoever guesses correctly will receive a VIP experience to the Genesis Championship in Korea, to be played next October. The package will include airfare and accommodations. Naturally, the first player to hit an ace on the 6th hole will not leave empty-handed. He will receive a Genesis GV60 luxury electric SUV, valued at more than $50,000. The Renaissance Club opened in 2008 and has hosted several top-level tournaments, including six editions of the Scottish Open, two of the Ladies Scottish Open, and one of the Scottish Senior Open.
