I'm an interiors expert – four hacks to get the Love Island ‘look' in your home

The Sun14-06-2025
LOVE Island is officially back on our screens, which means we'll all be spending the summer watching contestants compete in their quest to find true love.
While the show is ready to turn heads with new twists and more drama, and plenty of coupling up, there's one thing that remains loyal — the iconic look of the Villa.

As always, stars in the 2025 series are staying in the swanky Villa in Mallorca, on the east coast of the island in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.
But it had undergone a makeover for the tenth year anniversary to make sure it's bigger than ever with glam touch-ups.
This year, there is a new, supersized hideaway, walk-in wardrobes, an exercise bike and a steamy hot tub beside the huge pool.
A purple theme has also been added and extended through to the fire pit, while the rooms have been touched up with gold furnishings.
Even though you might not be able to install a built-in hot tub or pool in your own garden, there are still ways you can 'crack on' and add a touch of Love Island luxury to your home.
Interior experts have revealed that there are a few clever design choices that will serve up a vibe that's trendy and timeless.
And they are surprisingly easy for anyone who loves the popular ITV show.
Paint and interiors expert Lucy Steele from Valspar Paint shared her four tips for helping your space look like a real villa bombshell.
Go bright or go home
Lucy has said that an essential tip for nailing the Love Island look at home is by pairing bright whites with pops of bold colour.
She explained: "The interior of the Villa uses lots of brilliant whites as an easy backdrop for the bursts of fun colours throughout the space.

"Regularly using bold pinks, blues and butter yellows in the colour scheme of the Villa makes for a fun and playful aesthetic.
"If you already have neutral walls at home, you can achieve this by using the iconic colour trio to paint feature walls.
"Or simply coat doorframes and mirror frames for an instant refresh."
Firepit drama
No Love Island-inspired garden would be complete without the legendary fire pit.
So if you want to recreate the look of the Villa in your own space, then you definitely need to pick up one of these.
Lucy said: "This is an absolute must for the home, and it's actually fairly cheap to recreate.
"In more basic styles, you can get a fire pit for as little as £20 in standard retailers like B&Q.
"For a full-on Love Island garden vibe, add string fairy lights, sun loungers, and a splattering of colour-blocked cushions in the same blue, pink and yellow colour scheme.
"You may also want to coordinate the colour of your outdoor furniture with natural wood and whites.
"An easy way to achieve this cohesive look without splashing the cash is by painting your existing garden furniture with exterior paint, helping you stay loyal to the look."

Pop art inspo
This is a fairly new one, but pop art goes perfectly with the theme of the Love Island Villa.
Lucy advises: "Pop art was introduced to the design of the Villa fairly recently, and it works perfectly with the colour scheme throughout.
"Pop art prints are relatively low cost, or you could DIY your own to give your space a cheeky, flirtatious edge.
"Pop Art is a great way to add the Love Island look to your casa at a low cost.
"And it can also be easily changed in the future to new and exciting art pieces."
The five colours that are becoming outdated in 2025
IT'S important to make sure that when you update your space, you create a look that won't quickly become outdated.
With that in mind, interior designers have revealed the five colours that are beginning to fade now that we are halfway into 2025.
Interior pro Paulina Wojas from Stunning Chairs has said that 2025 is all about creating warm, inviting places.
Emerald Green - "While this colour is still loved for its luxe vibe, its declining popularity could be due to it being oversaturated".
Camel - "This could be due to Camel's brown-yellow undertone that may be too warm for a clean aesthetic, and 2025 interior trends favouring more muted, earthy tones such as taupe and olive.'
Burgundy - "A prominent trend this year is open, airy spaces with organic elements, which could explain burgundy's declining demand".
Scarlet Red - "While its vibrant hue is desirable for maximalist interiors, scarlet red's intensity can become overpowering, resulting in colour fatigue.
Teal - "While this aquatic shade is still desirable and perfect for coastal, Greek-inspired interiors, the low number of teal sales could be due to changing preferences and trends shifting towards warmer colour palettes.'
I've got a text… it says you need neon!
According to the experts, anyone looking to bring the vibe of the Villa into their home needs to bring in touches of neon.
Lucy explains: "Neon lights are an absolute must-have to achieve the Love Island look at home.
"Think playful phrases, a neon heart above your bed, or a cheeky cocktail sign for the garden.
"Neon is glam, Insta-ready, and surprisingly affordable.
"Plus, it'll give your space that unmistakable glow.
"It's perfect for setting the mood for your next pre-coupling party!"

She said that she "wasn't ready" to address the situation yet and revealed that she is "still processing" her split from Joshua. She wrote in her first message to fans: "Hey I wasn't ready to address this yet as it's all happened very sudden and soon. I was still processing and wanting to do this in my own time. However the press haven't given me that option and I don't want people speculating more then needed." Liberty then posted a lengthy statement in which she wrote about separating from her partner. She said that there was "no scandal" that led to their break-up, instead saying that it was the result of a "breakdown in communication". She wrote: "Hi guys, just wanted to address this one time only. Josh and I are no longer together. I know I shared a lot of my relationship and happiness online I did that because I honestly believed this would be my happy ending and was it for me as far as dating went." Josh and I have parted amicably with fond memories of the love we shared. I wish him all the best for the future and hope he finds love, peace and happiness." ‌ Liberty, who launched her swimwear brand Uplifted the Label last month, added: "I won't be commenting on the situation further, but just focusing on my healing. Yes I was going through a break up and launching my business at the same time. This isn't the end of my love story just a chapter. "I also wanted to add thank you to any stranger that saw me out and said kind words this past month. You lifted a girl up when she was down. I hope you can continue to support me in my boss babe, growth era. Lover girl out for now."

Celebrity SAS star details horrific injury that left her feeling her 'dignity had gone'

The reality star was left with a horrifying injury after taking part in extreme physical challenges for the Channel 4 series. Lucy Spraggan has revealed the horrifying moment she received a gruesome injury while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. ‌ The former X Factor contestant is taking part in the brutal series, which currently includes The Traitors winner Harry Clark, S Club 7's Hannah Spearitt, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, Rebecca Loos, Conor Benn and Drag Race UK winner Bimini Bon Boulash. ‌ The celebrities are put through their paces taking part in the extreme mental and physical challenges that are required to pass SAS selection. ‌ In the past, Strictly star Pete Wicks was forced to bow out after breaking several ribs and being knocked unconscious, while John Barrowman lasted only 32 minutes last year before quitting. Some stars followed suit this year, with singer Hannah lasting mere minutes, followed out the door by Louis Spence in the first episode, and not much later when Love Island's Chloe Burrows and Tasha both handed in their armbands. Now, Lucy has revealed a horrific incident that occurred as she ripped her labia while she was attached to a harness during a stunt. She previously revealed she was having reconstructive surgery soon to correct it because it had 'never been the same' after filming. Recalling the moment it happened, she told The Sun: 'I was like: 'This feels really bad. Surely there can't be anything.' ‌ 'And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything. 'Dignity has gone. It was like: 'Oh my God, I thought it was your leg.' And I was like: 'No, no, it's not!'" ‌ She's now opened up in a new interview with LadBible about how the injury happened, while she was jumping off a viaduct and was in free fall for a few seconds before stopping. She said: 'You hit that sort of lowest point, obviously there's quite a lot of like 'yank' and I knew that my harness was in a bit of an odd position, but you've got so much adrenaline when stuff like that's happening, you can't really be like, 'Oh, can I just move this?'' ‌ She went on: 'I knew straight away that, like, that was a sincere amount of pain and it was f***ing sincere pain. 'In midair, I was trying to, like, pull on the rope, so like to pull up to relieve some of the tension, in the harness.' When she went to check herself after the task, she saw blood before a doctor came over and thought she had hurt her leg. ‌ Lucy added in the interview that she was surprised to see how much attention her injury had sparked, saying: 'I just think that it's kind of crazy that men are always like, 'Oh, my balls, my balls, my balls,' the second that a woman is like, I've got a vulva [it's a big news story].' That wasn't the only injury Lucy faced however, as she almost knocked out her tooth, and fainted, landing face-first in the sea after jumping from a helicopter. She was left with a black eye on her wedding day in June last year, and said she 'hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face'. 'By that point I was just in pain everywhere,' she revealed.

Rosalía details pressure to define her sexuality after brief Hunter Schafer romance

Rosalía made a rare remark about her love life when asked whether she felt the need to publicly define her sexuality following her romance with Hunter Schafer. When asked if she felt compelled to come out as queer or otherwise, the Spanish singer, 32, told Elle: 'No, I do not pressure myself.' 'I think of freedom. That's what guides me,' she explained of how she navigates dating in the public eye. Following the end of their five-month relationship back in 2019, the two-time Grammy winner and Schafer have remained close friends and, recently, became colleagues. Earlier this year, the amicable exes recently teamed up to shoot scenes for the long-awaited third season of Euphoria, in which is set to premiere in 2026. In 2024, Schafer, 26, confirmed to GQ that they 'have really beautiful friendship' after splitting romantically. 'She's family no matter what,' the actress insisted, noting Rosalía gave her permission to discuss their past relationship after 'so much speculation for so long.' 'Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, 'It's none of anybody's f**king business!' … It's something I'm happy to share. And I think she feels that way too,' the Hunger Games insisted. Rosalía hasn't explicitly labeled her sexuality, but has previously been linked to The Bear's Jeremy Allen White and was engaged to Rauw Alejandro. In July 2023, she called off her engagement after more than three years together. Following their breakup, she admitted that it wasn't 'an easy moment' on Instagram after crying on stage at Lollapalooza Paris. Meanwhile, Schafer, who identifies as both bisexual and pansexual, has also dated Dominic Fike and Massima Desire. Schafer appears to be currently single after saying she was healing from her breakup with Fike, who she accused of being unfaithful, last year. While appearing on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Schafer revealed how her last relationship 'fundamentally changed' her. 'I think of freedom. That's what guides me,' she explained of how she navigates dating in the public eye 'You will find cis people who do know and just get it, and that's what was so amazing about my ex-boyfriend, was from the get-go, he saw me exactly for who I was, which is amazing,' she recalled. Schafer continued: 'This is a straight guy who is in the music scene, too, and we're in a public relationship, he's dating a trans woman. He's completely straight; he's only dated cis women before.' During their relationship, the star praised Fike for 'toting' her around and being 'happy to be' her boyfriend to the world, despite the 'nasty s**t' people said about him. 'He didn't care at all. … I wasn't anxious, but I was also head over heels in love and happy to be doing it,' she remembered. Despite his endearing qualities, the performer said her ex 'was not perfect' and he 'cheated' on her. 'He's talked about this, too—in his songs, he writes about it—so it's fine to be talking about it today and it's part of my truth. But that fundamentally changed me as a person,' she said.
