Citroen has urged the owners of C3 and DS3 models in Europe to stop driving the cars after the latest airbag-related death. The French auto giant on Tuesday told the owners of the C3 and DS3 models on the continent equipped with potentially faulty Takata airbags to immediately cease driving the vehicles. The move comes after a woman was killed in France earlier this month. The immobilisation order has affected around 441,000 units of Citroen C3 and DS3 cars in Europe, on top of the hundreds of thousands already recalled by the OEM since early last year.
AFP has reported that a recall is on the cards from the automaker for the potentially impacted models owing to the faulty Takata airbags. This comes as the latest move in a recall scandal dating from 2014, after investigators determined the airbags had caused several deaths because they exploded when deployed in the case of an accident.
Earlier this month, the French government urged Citroen, which is currently owned by the Stellantis group, to issue an immediate immobilisation order to the owners of the impacted models after a 37-year-old woman was killed when her car's airbag malfunctioned during an accident, projecting parts into her. This was the 13th death linked to the defective Takata airbags in dozens of accidents in France, reported the news agency.
Until now, Citroen had only asked drivers to make appointments to have the airbags replaced, a process carried out in multiple stages since early 2024. However, the move to tell the C3 owners to stop driving the vehicles comes as a new step from the automaker, which is alarming. Speaking about this, Citroen's CEO Xavier Chardon, has reportedly said, "Given the circumstances, we have decided to issue a 'stop drive' to accelerate their repair."
Citroen is not the only affected car manufacturer in the world owing to the Takata airbag scandal. Several other major global auto manufacturers, including Volkswagen, Nissan, BMW and Toyota, have also been impacted due to the issue. These auto manufacturers have recalled millions of vehicles containing the Takata airbags.
Citroen sells the C3 model in India as well, alongside other cars such as the Basalt, Aircross, eC3, and C5 Aircross. Citroen India is yet to announce such a move for the consumers of C3 in the country.

Reliance Infra shares rally over 1,400% in 5 years. Is there more upside left?

Reliance Infrastructure shares have delivered stellar long-term gains, surging over 1,400% in the past five years. The momentum has continued in recent sessions, with the stock rising 45% in the last one month and gaining 10% in just the past two trading days. The rally picked up pace after the company announced a strategic partnership between its subsidiary, Reliance Aerostructure, and French aerospace major Dassault Aviation to manufacture Falcon 2000 business jets in India. But beyond the news-driven rally, technical indicators suggest there could still be more room to run. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 얼굴 기미, 더 이상 헛돈쓰지말고 이렇게 해보세요 (청담 피부원장 노하우) 두아이연구원 Undo Technical indicators point to further upside Play Video Pause Skip Backward Skip Forward Unmute Current Time 0:00 / Duration 0:00 Loaded : 0% 0:00 Stream Type LIVE Seek to live, currently behind live LIVE Remaining Time - 0:00 1x Playback Rate Chapters Chapters Descriptions descriptions off , selected Captions captions settings , opens captions settings dialog captions off , selected Audio Track default , selected Picture-in-Picture Fullscreen This is a modal window. Kunal V Parar, VP – Technical Research & Algo at Choice Broking, said the stock has shown strong momentum, breaking above a key swing high on the weekly chart—an indicator of potential further gains. "On the weekly chart, the stock is comfortably trading above its 100-week and 200-week moving averages, reflecting a strong bullish trend. On the monthly chart, the stock appears to be on the verge of a Cup and Handle breakout, which suggests a continuation of the ongoing momentum," he said. Live Events He also noted a bullish breakout in the RSI on the weekly timeframe, suggesting strengthening positive breadth in the counter. "We expect the stock to continue its upward journey towards the Rs 420–470 zone, with a strict stop loss at Rs 344," Parar added. Laxmikant Shukla, Senior Manager – Technical Analyst at YES SECURITIES, also pointed to a strong technical reversal. 'The stock formed a bullish tweezer bottom reversal pattern on the daily chart, negating the five-day correction phase and breaking the sequence of lower highs and lower lows,' he said. He noted that the rebound was supported by rising trading volumes and a bullish crossover in the stochastic oscillator, both of which confirm renewed buying interest. "From a risk-reward standpoint, the stock looks well-positioned to extend its upward movement in the near term. We recommend buying Reliance Infra shares in the range of Rs 385–388, with a stop loss at Rs 375 and a target price of Rs 414," Shukla said. Honda lands its first reusable rocket, joins SpaceX in the race for reusable space tech

Elon Musk's SpaceX is among the few companies globally that have nearly mastered rocket reuse, with the Falcon 9 serving as a leading example of how reusable rockets should be built. Now, Japanese car maker Honda is also joining the league. On June 17, Honda announced that it had successfully conducted a launch and landing test of an experimental reusable rocket. Compared to the Falcon 9, the company's rocket is pretty small, measuring 6.3 metres in length and having a dry and wet weight of 900 kg and 1,312 kg, respectively. Also, the rocket only reached an altitude of nearly 300 metres. In a press release, Honda said that the launch and landing test was conducted 'with an aim to demonstrate key technologies essential for rocket reusability', like flight stability during the ascent and descent stage and landing capabilities. It was launched from the Honda facility in Taiki Town, Hiroo District, Hokkaido Prefecture in Japan, which is often referred to as the space town. The company added that the rocket, which had a flight duration of 56.6 seconds, reached an altitude of 271.4 metres and landed within 37 cm of the target touchdown point. The company added that its reusable launch vehicle is 'still in the fundamental research phase.' And while Honda is yet to clarify how it will commercialise the rocket technology and what the boosters will be used for, the company has said that it will now work on a suborbital launch by 2029. For those wondering, suborbital flights don't go into the Earth's orbit but touch the edge of space at a height of around 65 miles. However, the company did suggest that its rocket might be used to launch Earth observation satellites to keep an eye out on extreme weather, check the effect of global warming and someday launch a satellite constellation like Starlink. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is the first time a company outside of the United States and China has successfully tested a reusable rocket. Compared to other space companies and startups, which have been working on space technologies for decades, Honda is pretty new. The recent launch puts Honda in competition with companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin, which have successfully tested reusable rockets to reach Earth's orbit.
