The OnePlus 15's battery upgrade sounds massive, and you'll want to hear why it's not even bigger
This leak comes from a reputable Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station. According to their post, OnePlus is now testing its next flagship phone, which is likely to be the OnePlus 15. The phone is said to be tested with a huge 7,000mAh dual-cell battery.
It's quite likely that OnePlus is using high-density silicon-carbon tech for this huge battery. This is the same technology used in the OnePlus 13 , allowing for a thinner battery that holds quite a lot of power.

The leaker also states OnePlus could have gone for an even bigger battery, like 7,500mAh or even 8,000mAh. But reportedly, the company has chosen to go for 7,000mAh so that the OnePlus 15 can remain a relatively thin device.
The thin fad is now in its full swing. Samsung's already bet on super-thin devices with the Galaxy S25 Edge and now the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Apple is also expected to reveal a thin iPhone with the iPhone 17 series - the iPhone 17 Air, reportedly. So it makes sense that OnePlus wouldn't want to make a bulkier phone if it wants to stay competitive in the current climate. The OnePlus 15 is still months away from an official announcement. Other rumors indicate the phone may come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. It is also said the OnePlus flagship may come with an IP68 or even IP69 rating.
For me, personally, battery life is huge when choosing a new phone. I think a 7,000mAh battery sounds amazing, especially if it can still charge super fast. I hate having to worry about my phone dying halfway through the day. If OnePlus can give me that kind of power in a thin design, that's a win-win.

The phone is said to boast an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It may be lighter than its predecessor, though, with rumors suggesting a weight of 190g, 23g lighter than the S24 FE. The same chip will likely power it, though, Samsung's Exynos 2400. You can expect 8 gigs of RAM and 128 or 256 gigs of storage. As for the cameras, no surprises here either: expect a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The Galaxy S25 FE may sport a 4,900mAh battery and support 15W wireless and 45W wired charging. The phone is said to cost more or less the same as its predecessor, which means around $649.99. As an upper mid-range device, it's going to face the Pixel 9a, the iPhone 16e, the OnePlus 13R, and the fancy-looking Nothing Phone (3a) Pro for the title of the best mid-range phone. As for the colors, they're more on the muted side in my opinion. I like the Navy option, but at the same time, this color has been on tech everywhere in recent years, and I feel like I'm starting to get bored with it a little bit. Sadly, there seems not to be a yellow FE this year, which would've been the color I would've gone for if I were going to buy one.

Huawei introduces MatePad Air 12 and MatePad 11.5 S
Huawei unveiled two new tablets in its MatePad series today. Both come with high-resolution 144Hz displays, slim and light designs and boot HarmonyOS 5. The MatePad Air 12 MatePad Air 12 is built around a 12-inch IPS LCD with 2800 × 1840px resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel comes with an optional nano-etched PaperMatte tech which reduces reflections and removes 99% of light interference. The panel boasts 1,000 nits peak brightness and features 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Huawei is bringing support for its M-Pencil Pro stylus and also added six speakers to the Air 12. Staying true to its name, the device is just 5.9mm thin and weighs 555 grams. Huawei is keeping mum on the chipset. We do get confirmation that the MatePad Air 12 is equipped with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. There's a 50MP main cam around the back and an 8MP front-facing shooter. Huawei outfitted the Air 12 with a sizeable 10,100 mAh battery with 66W charging. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 7 but is not offered with cellular connectivity. MatePad Air 12 comes in Cherry Blossom Pink, Grass Green, Feather Sand White, Smoke Gray colors. The baseline 12/256GB version is CNY 2,999 ($417), while the 12/512GB model is priced at CNY 3,399 ($473). Open sales in China are scheduled to start on August 21.
