Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning is not opposed to going out of his way to participate in fun activities with recruits and make sure they're happy. We saw this earlier in the spring when the young coach ripped off his shirt and did a cannonball alongside 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley to announce his commitment, and now we're seeing it again with 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho.

While it wasn't a commitment announcement, Lanning is turning heads this weekend for his participation in a push-up contest with the 6-foot-6, 345-pounder. The two raced to see who could get to 25 push-ups first, and while Iheanacho apparently won, it was definitely close.
Hopefully, this video will have a better long-term result for Lanning than the pool jump with Wesley did. Just 17 days after the commitment, Wesley decommitted from the Ducks and opened up his recruiting process once again, which led to Lanning getting some backlash among college football fans for his recruiting antics. Most notably, the USC Trojans poked fun at Lanning, posting Will Ferrell's cannonball scene from Anchorman to announce one of their commitments.
Fortunately, it doesn't seem as if the Ducks are going to have to go the extra mile with Iheanacho to get his commitment. The 5-star, who is rated as the No. 8 player in the 2026 class, has said for a couple of months now that Oregon is leading his recruitment, and there are multiple predictions for him to commit to the Ducks.

Whether or not that commitment gets announced with Lanning partaking in the video is yet to be seen, but at this point, we know the Oregon coach will do what he needs to do to land the recruit.

Over the years, we've come to learn a few things about The Young and the Restless' Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). He's a shrewd businessman, able to hold a grudge longer than anyone in Genoa City, a masterful tactician when it comes to his enemies and he demands loyalty from his family. Unfortunately for his family members, loyalty and obedience are often synonymous terms in his book. Knowing what we know, we don't see Adam's (Mark Grossman) refusal to do his father's bidding at Newman Media ending well. Victor has told his youngest son several times now that he wants Adam to use Newman Media to publish attack pieces against Billy (Jason Thompson), painting the Abbott as incompetent and an imbecile, among other things. However, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) has been in Adam's ear, telling him not to go after Billy. Call it guilt for cheating on Billy with Adam or a platonic love for Billy for helping bring her out of a dark time in her life, but Chelsea is adamant that Adam not use Newman Media to tear Billy down. So far, Adam has managed to stall his dad and honor Chelsea's request. That hasn't been easy, as Victor has been rather insistent and Billy has been poking Adam with insults. But before Victor left for Aristotle Dumas' party, he made one final demand of his son. Fast forward to The Young and the Restless episode airing on June 16, and Adam tells Chelsea that he won't do what Victor asked and will just face the consequences when The Mustache returns to Genoa City. We can't help but suspect that while Chelsea is proud of Adam, Victor will likely be furious. The Newman patriarch may even retaliate, and the father/son duo could again find themselves at odds. If we had to guess, there's a good chance that Victor fires Adam for the umpteenth time and puts someone else in charge as CEO of Newman Media. That would be a real shame, considering Adam worked so hard over the last two years to earn his father's trust and be welcomed back into the family business. But hey, Holden (Nathan Owens) is currently on the market for a job in Genoa City, so who's to say Holden can step into Adam's role? Even if Victor doesn't fire Adam completely, there's always a chance he demotes Adam to COO of Newman Media and gives Adam a boss. That could still be Holden, or perhaps he places Nick (Joshua Morrow) in the company's CEO chair. After all, with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) already as CEO of parent corporation Newman Enterprises and Victor far from retired, does Nick need to aid his sister? One thing we don't think Victor will do is kick Adam and Chelsea out of the other Newman Ranch. He's still a family man after all. However, Victor doesn't like it when people go rogue when he gives explicit instructions, so Adam should definitely brace himself. New episodes of The Young and the Restless air weekdays on CBS. Episodes become available to stream on Paramount Plus the next day.

Local radio hosts look back on Commanders trade for Marshon Lattimore
"What type of a deal does it look like the Commanders made for Marshon Lattimore?" "Grant and Danny" of 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C., took a segment earlier in the week to discuss the Washington Commanders' trade for Lattimore last season, and some are not pleased with the show hosts. The YouTube comments section reveals several have voiced their frustration and that they are upset with Paulsen and Rouhier, accusing them of trashing the organization, always being negative, etc. Having been raised in the DMV, I can agree with the sentiment that the local fan base does not want those in the local sports media (print, radio or television) who are always negative and criticizing the local team. I can think of a few over the years who did just that, and it became their schtick. That is, they weren't from the area originally, were hired by a local company and loved to get under the skin of the fan base. However, that is certainly not the case with Paulsen and Rouhier. These two guys have more than proven they want the local teams to succeed. They are unashamed to admit, they gladly root for the local teams and enjoy doing so. So, what exactly were Grant & Danny conveying that upset fans regarding the Marshon Lattimore trade? The Baltimore Ravens signed former Packers corner Jaire Alexander, whom the Packers had released. The Ravens only had to pay him $6M for the 2025 season. Paulsen began the entire segment by stating this was a smart, savvy deal by the Ravens. Paulsen then understandably compared the two acquisitions, conveying that both Lattimore and Alexander had been very successful corners who were also battling injuries last season. The Ravens patiently waited and obtained Alexander while his stock was down. The Commanders, on the other hand, insisted on purchasing Lattimore midseason in 2024 and paid much more. Had they made the trade this offseason, they certainly would not have needed to spend third, fourth, and sixth-round selections in the 2025 draft. In addition, Paulsen and Rouhier then added that though the Ravens are paying Alexander only $6M, the Commanders are signing checks for $18M to Lattimore. Of course, they both said they would rather have Alexander and his contract. What do you expect them to say? Do you want them to sell their souls the way so many in the print and television media do today, masquerading as "journalists," but always spinning a story, ignoring stories in whatever way they can to help their political allegiances? Of course, Paulsen and Rouhier want the Commanders to win big in 2025. They want Marshon Lattimore to have a great season wearing burgundy and gold. They are not rooting against Lattimore, nor are they rooting against GM Adam Peters, because of this trade. They are saying the trade "thus far" does not look good. Yet, they have a job to do, and that is to be prepared daily to present to their listeners quality programming. Shouldn't such programming involve thought-provoking content? Do we in the DMV want all Commanders media personalities to be merely cheerleaders? Don't you want them to do some actual reporting, analyzing and critiquing from time to time? It was a good segment. Although it obviously did not please some in the fan base, it was good radio and good commentary, as valid concerns were raised. There are some of us who recognize that the DMV programs should bring honesty to their broadcasts, which will naturally result in times of praise and cheer, along with times of concern and job, Grant & Danny.
