Ban on CPI (Maoist) and its affiliated outfits extended by one year
The State government has declared the Communist Party of India (Maoist) as an unlawful association for one more year under the Andhra Pradesh Public Security Act, 1992. The government has also imposed a ban for one year on the frontal organisations of the CPI (Maoist) such as the All India Revolutionary Students' Federation (AIRSF), Gramina Pedala Sangham (GPS), Radical Students' Union (RSU), Singareni Karmika Samakhya (SIKASA), and Viplava Karmika Samakhya (VIKASA). On November 11, 2005, the government had issued a notification and published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette declaring the CPI (Maoist) and its affiliated organisations as unlawful associations, and extended the notification year to year. As the banned organisations continued to indulge in unlawful activities, the government issued orders declaring them as unlawful on August 21, 2025, under Sub-Sections (1) and (4) of Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Public Security Act, 1992.

One of America's most wanted arrested in India
NEW DELHI: The FBI, in collaboration with Indian law enforcement agencies, has arrested suspect named Cindy Rodriguez Singh who was on US' top-10 wanted list. Accused of killing her son (6), Singh had fled to India in 2023. FBI director Kash Patel posted on X about the breakthrough. "FBI has arrested another Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive: Cindy Rodriguez Singh. This is the 4th "10 Most Wanted" fugitive arrested in the last 7 months. Thanks to our local partners in Texas, where this case originated, @TheJusticeDept, as well as partners in India for coordination". While the place of her arrest was not clear, sources said she was identified on the basis of the multiple tattoos on her body and flown to New York after being apprehended. While CBI, being the nodal agency, apparently coordinated the operation, no immediate comment was available from the agency on the case. Singh (40), US national, was placed on the FBI's most wanted list in July. Born in Dallas, Texas, Singh has ties to India and Mexico. According to the FBI, Singh's younger son, Noel Alvarez, had disappeared in Oct 2022. "On March 20, 2023, at the request of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Everman Police Department officers conducted a welfare check on behalf of the boy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Passive Income Ideas Sitting at Home Mone Click Here Undo During the interview, Singh lied to officers when she explained that the boy was living with his biological father in Mexico and had been there since Nov 2022," the FBI said. It came to the fore later that Singh had applied for passports for all of her children except Noel in Nov 2022. On Mar 22, 2023, Rodriguez Singh, her husband, and six other children, boarded an international flight bound for India. The missing child did not board the flight, the FBI found. That was the last time she was sighted. "On Oct 31, 2023, Singh was charged with capital murder in a Texas court and a federal arrest warrant was issued for her on Nov 2, 2023. On Aug 29, 2024, the FBI announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to her arrest and conviction," the FBI had earlier said in a statement.

Why was a potential assassination attempt on Andy Reid in 2024 swept under the rug by the NFL?
Andy Reid faced a harrowing experience when gunfire struck the Chiefs' training facility (Getty Images) Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has built a reputation as one of the NFL's most composed leaders on the sideline. But according to a new report, Reid faced a life-threatening scare last year that went largely unnoticed by both fans and much of the organization. A late-night shooting leaves Andy Reid just feet away from danger On May 4, 2024, Reid was reportedly working late at the Chiefs' training facility when gunfire struck the building. According to The Kansas City Star, a bullet pierced the glass of his second-floor office window, cut through blinds, and lodged into a wall between his office door and private bathroom. At the time, Reid was seated just 15 feet away. The situation could have been far worse. Police confirmed that two additional bullets also struck the facility — one on the third floor and another on an outdoor air conditioning unit. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the Kansas City Police Department classified the case as an aggravated assault. Authorities emphasized there was 'no indication' the shots were specifically targeted at Reid or the Chiefs. A well-kept secret inside the Chiefs' building Perhaps most surprising is that the incident remained largely unknown until now. The report notes it was such a 'well-kept secret' that many Chiefs players and even some staff members only learned about it this week. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What Happens When You Massage Baking Soda Into Your Scalp Read More Undo In the aftermath, the team took extra precautions, reinforcing Reid's office with bulletproof glass. Despite the terrifying moment, Reid continued his work without interruption. The 67-year-old guided Kansas City to a 15-2 record in the 2024 season, eventually reaching Super Bowl LIX, where the Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles. Andy Reid's resilience mirrors his coaching legacy For a coach who has navigated immense pressure on the field, Reid's calm persistence after the shooting underscores the steadiness that has defined his Hall of Fame career. Since taking over in 2013, he has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles and turned the franchise into a modern dynasty.
