Machine Gun Kelly Speaks About Megan Fox Baby, Split 'Gossip' and Secret Rehab Stay
MGK alludes to a split on his new album -- while Fox is credited as a composer on one of the songs -- while also opening up about their baby girl, Saga, and spending Christmas 2024 in rehab in a new interview. Machine Gun Kelly is letting his music do some of the talking, giving insight into his roller coaster relationship with Megan Fox and their new baby on his new album, Lost Americana. MGK dropped his seventh album Friday, while also opening up about what inspired some of the tracks in a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times' Popcast podcast. Among the topics: the birth of baby girl Saga, his secret stint in rehab at the end of 2024 and dealing with media attention and "gossip" around his relationship with Fox. In the song "Treading Water," he sings about spending Christmas 2024 in rehab, with lyrics including, "This'll be the last time you hear me say sorry / That'll be the last tear you waste on me crying / I broke this home, and just like my father, I'll die all alonе." "The beast killed the beauty; the last petal fell from the rose / And I loved you truly, that's why it's hard to let it go / I broke this home, but I'll change for our daughter, so she's not alone," he continues. "I'm fixated on the gossip that I know is happenin' / while I'm just being left out of the conversation," he sings later in the track. "And it's crazy, seeing quotations from a source that somebody curated / 'Cause for me, y'all can feel pure hatred / But just keep our baby out this situation." In December 2024, it was also reported that the couple had split, with reports at the time that Fox had found something upsetting on his phone. "Here's the real deal, I spent Christmas and New Year's, the whole month of December and late November, in a rehab facility. I came out, the world was very loud about me and my personal business," he said on the podcast. "Ironically, neither me or Megan have said anything. To this day, there could have been zero drama and you would never know, because none of us have said one thing." "It's all claims and things that have happened out of our control, I guess. I came home to this," he said, adding he was "somewhat aware" of the chatter while he was in rehab, but really had no access to phones at the time. Shortly after his release, he said, he began a "water fast," before the Los Angeles fires began to encroach on his home. He told the podcasters he was "pushing through a delirious state" on the fourth day of the fast, hiding out at neighbor Michael B. Jordan's home before grabbing some letters, a Banksy and Picasso at his home and retreating from the area. In the end, he said, his home was spared. Elsewhere on the album, there's a song called "Sweet Coraline," where he sings about saving a woman from a taxi cab -- calling her both "rude" and "dumb" in the track. On the podcast, he explained the song was actually about a fan who ran up to him in NYC and asked him, "How did you fumble Megan Fox?" "I said, 'God damn. God damn,'" exclaimed MGK, "That's the question you wanted to ask? You ran all the way over for this?" After she them praised his "Tickets to My Downfall" album, he said he then saved her from a taxi nearly running her over. Kelly also opened up about the day Fox went into labor, saying both he and the actress were surprised their baby girl didn't come early, "because she always has her babies early." It left him wondering, "What is she waiting on?" He then explained that he went into the studio to finish the album, recording an intro for it. "And the second I get to my house and plop my body in the bed, it's go time, Megan's water broke. So my baby was up there like, 'Nah, dad, you're going to finish the album first.' Saga was waiting for the intro, damn," he shared on the podcast. When asked what it's like being dad to a newborn again, Kelly said it was "very different" from his first time around, after welcoming daughter Casie 16 years ago. "I actually don't have to steal diapers from Walmart. It's a pleasure. I am very happy that I can embed music into her subconscious from the early days," he said, adding that little Saga really responds well to the sound of a ukulele. Fox is also credited on one of the album's tracks, the song Orpheus, where she's named as a "composer" on the song. "And in this moment, it's me and you only / I will lovе you for all my days," he sings on the song. "Somewhere in a diffеrent realm, we're still together / Somehow, I'll find my way to you again." "Do you remember when you mistakenly / Thought that I could make you happy?" he adds. "I wish that we could still dream and dream / I won't let you love me, but I can't let you leave me / It's a tragedy, and we've all seen that scene." Lost Americana is out now. Bills' Josh Allen ranked as having No. 1 arm strength in NFL
Bills' Josh Allen ranked as having No. 1 arm strength in NFL originally appeared on The Sporting News Josh Allen is the MVP. The Buffalo Bills' superstar quarterback finally earned that honor for his exceptional 2024 season. And heading into the new campaign, he got another impressive accolade. ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, himself a former NFL quarterback, ranked the league's current passers by their specific traits. He listed Allen as having the No. 1 arm strength in the entire league. The rest of the top 10 after Allen: Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Matthew Stafford, Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, Michael Penix Jr. and Jordan Love. MORE: Shedeur Sanders shows his NFL Draft slide might've been a mistake Orlovsky laid out his logic like this: For me, arm strength is less about airing out the 60-yard pass (though it's of course part of the equation) and more about driving the football on a rope when it's necessary. I'm talking about tight windows, 15 to 20 yards downfield. You need a strong arm to get the ball there on time with these passes; floating one in isn't an option. Think third-and-12 dropbacks with defenders blanketing the receiver, and the coverage starting to close in. Not every QB has the zip in his arm to paste the ball where it needs to be in a hurry. The best in the game at this is Allen, but the top four on my list -- Allen, Mahomes, Herbert and Jackson -- are collectively all sort of in a league of their own. Allen connected on 15 tight-window throws 10 or more yards downfield last season, tied for the third most in the NFL. Nine of those were at least 20 yards downfield, the most in the league. He can step on one with authority. MORE: Bills' roster hopeful hasn't cut his hair in 7 years, for good reason Allen can deliver ridiculously on-point darts from any spot on the field, even when off balance. He threw an absurd touchdown to Ty Johnson last season when rolling to his right around the 30-yard line before yanking a pass across his body to the center of the end zone while off balance and putting it somehow in a low spot that only Johnson could catch it. Few QBs can even dream of doing some of the things Allen can do with his arm. That's why he was the MVP, and that's why the Bills have great hopes for the season ahead, too. David Ellison is spending billions to challenge Netflix, but it could be a pipe dream
David Ellison's Paramount Skydance is an underdog, but it's still coming out swinging at Netflix. Paramount just locked up UFC rights for the next seven years in a $7.7 billion deal with UFC parent TKO, announced on Monday. The news comes less than a week after Paramount's merger with Ellison's Skydance. That long-anticipated tie-up was approved by the FCC weeks after Paramount paid $16 million to settle President Donald Trump's "60 Minutes" lawsuit. Starting in 2026, Paramount+ subscribers will be able to stream UFC fights at no extra charge. That's a seismic shift away from the current pay-per-view model, where UFC fans subscribe to ESPN+ for $11.99 a month and then pay $79.99 per match. By contrast, Paramount+ costs $12.99 a month, or $7.99 with ads. The Paramount-TKO partnership follows Paramount's $1.5 billion deal for "South Park," which sees the irreverent animated comedy stream exclusively on Paramount+ globally for the next five years. The TKO and "South Park" deals "clearly signal how long-term and BIG, team Ellison is thinking," LightShed analysts wrote on Monday. "They are not playing for near-term earnings outperformance, they are trying to create a long-term imprint on the future of the media industry to 'win.'" Paramount+ isn't playing around Paramount wasn't widely considered a top contender for UFC rights. MoffettNathanson analyst Robert Fishman wrote last week that Netflix, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery were thought to be the most likely suitors, with Paramount as more of a dark horse. Both Netflix and Amazon have amped up their investments in live sports. Netflix reached an agreement with TKO to stream WWE matches on Monday nights, which started in January, and it also started airing NFL games on Christmas Day. Amazon Prime Video has broadcast NFL's Thursday Night Football games for years and will show NBA contests for the first time this fall. While Paramount and TKO's deal surprised some media analysts, others saw it coming. LightShed analyst Rich Greenfield told Business Insider's Peter Kafka in late July that Paramount would be a contender for UFC rights. He said he'd "be shocked if you didn't see more sports on CBS" and noted that Ellison had made high-profile appearances at UFC events. Paramount+ is a top priority for Ellison. The new Paramount CEO said after the Skydance deal closed that he expected the platform to be "a leading, global streaming service." He's entrusted Netflix's former original content executive, Cindy Holland, to help achieve that aim. Under Ellison, Paramount+ is playing catch-up with Netflix by investing in improving its technology while betting big on live sports like UFC and buzzworthy shows like "South Park." Netflix had about 302 million subscribers at the end of 2024, when it stopped regularly sharing its count. Paramount+ had nearly 78 million paying customers as of June 30, the company said in late July. Paramount+ is far behind Netflix in both size and viewership share, but its new leader has proven so far that he's serious about trying to close the gap. However, the Paramount-UFC deal carries risk for both parties. It's a huge investment for Ellison and Paramount, whose stock was little changed after the deal was announced. And while TKO shareholders celebrated the move by sending its stock soaring more than 7%, Greenfield said Paramount+ isn't an ideal partner, given its relatively limited reach. "We were hoping for Netflix," Greenfield wrote.
