Erika Jayne breaks her silence on new boyfriend... as ex-husband Tom Girardi begins prison sentence

Daily Mail4 days ago
Erika Jayne is finally spilling the beans about her new boyfriend after his identity was revealed earlier this month.
The 54-year-old Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star was previously revealed to be dating the retired US Army special operations sergeant major John McPhee, who is nicknamed 'Shrek.'
And on Wednesday's episode of her Diamonds In The Rough podcast, Jayne uttered her first words about her new romance to her co-host and former RHOBH costar Teddi Mellencamp.
She sounded excited to delve into her burgeoning relationship, but the happy news came a little over a week after Jayne's ex-husband Tom Girardi reported to prison to begin his seven-year prison sentence after he was convicted of fraud and embezzlement.
The 86-year-old lawyer began his sentence amid a devastating battle with dementia.
On her podcast, Jayne revealed that McPhee has his own reality TV connection, as he's employed as a private security guard for The Hills star Heidi Montag.

She recalled out she met her new boyfriend thanks to an encounter with Montag at an event in London.
'It was random because [Heidi] went on, and then I went on after her,' Jayne recalled, via Just Jared. 'I thought, "That's that guy from the podcast. I'm gonna walk up and say hello." So I did.
'I walked up and I introduced myself and I was like, "Hey, my name is Erika, and I've seen a couple of podcasts. I'm a fan,"' she said.
Even though McPhee — who is also nicknamed 'the Sheriff of Baghdad' — tends to work behind the scenes, he has a sizable social media following.
He also has a strong relationship with Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt after having worked for them for years, and he serves as the godfather to their son Gunner, seven.
Later in the podcast, Jayne discussed having her photo snapped with McPhee by paparazzi recently.
'I met someone and we went out on two dates, and then we went to get a manicure-pedicure,' she recounted.
She claimed they 'obviously' had no idea that they were spotted by photographers, and complained that 'What was a nice, private moment and a nice, private thing I was having for myself was ruined.'
'I walked up and I introduced myself and I was like, "Hey, my name is Erika, and I've seen a couple of podcasts. I'm a fan,"' she said. She also complained about being spotted by paparazzi while out with her boyfriend
During the outing, she and McPhee were pictured holding hands affectionately.
Despite the difficult circumstances under which they spent time together, Jayne said she and McPhee had since been getting closer.
'It was really nice. Like, I feel comfortable holding this person's hand, and he's a nice man,' she admitted. 'I haven't been seen with anybody in five years. So this is a really nice person, and I enjoy my time with him.'
Her ex-husband likely hasn't been having as good a time after recently reporting for the start of his prison sentence.
The Daily Mail confirmed earlier this month that the disbarred trial attorney, who was once one of the most powerful figures in California 's legal world, became inmate 43156-510 after surrendering to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.
The attorney — whose Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star ex filed for divorce in 2020 after 21 years of marriage — was indicted in February 2023 for embezzling more than $15 million from his own clients at Girardi Keese.
He pleaded not guilty to five counts of wire fraud but was convicted earlier this year.
His legal team had tried to keep him out of prison, arguing that Girardi, who was diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimer's and dementia, should serve his sentence at a long-term care facility instead — but the request was denied.
Now, it remains unclear how the prison system will handle Girardi's cognitive decline during his seven-year sentence.
Determining the right facility for an inmate with mental or physical health issues can take weeks or even months, and officials declined to say where Girardi might ultimately be placed, per LA Times.
Girardi turned himself in after his legal team argued that sending the disgraced lawyer to prison would be a 'de facto death sentence' for a man who no longer even remembers the crimes he's being punished for.
'For Tom Girardi, there can be no meaningful punishment,' Deputy Federal Public Defender Samuel Cross said at his sentencing hearing in June.
But U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton wasn't swayed, citing expert evaluations that concluded Girardi still had the cognitive ability to function independently in day-to-day life.
'He currently retains his independence as to his activities of daily living,' she said, ruling that prison was the appropriate consequence.
Girardi's mental health has been the subject of fierce debate since 2020, when his law empire collapsed amid accusations of financial misconduct.
A Long Beach psychiatrist diagnosed him with Alzheimer's, prompting his brother to place him under a conservatorship — but prosecutors suspected Girardi was faking the extent of his decline.
Even federal neuropsychologist Dr. Tracy O'Connor Pennuto, who evaluated Girardi during a six-week stint at Butner prison hospital, determined that while he wasn't malingering, he did suffer from 'moderately advanced dementia' with signs of Alzheimer's.
She testified that his long-term memory remained mostly intact, but his short-term recall was impaired.
'He will not improve,' Pennuto warned. 'He will continue to decline over time.'
Girardi was accused of stealing settlement funds from numerous clients, including families of victims of the 2018 Lion Air crash, and using the money to bankroll his and Jayne's opulent lifestyle.
While his crimes have left deep scars, Jayne has been largely cleared of any involvement and was dismissed from related lawsuits.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, has since moved on romantically and is now dating retired U.S. Army Special Ops agent John 'Shrek' McPhee — though her divorce from Girardi has yet to be finalized.

Dave Portnoy reveals Barstool Sports passed on WNBA star Sophie Cunningham's podcast

Dave Portnoy is no stranger to partnering with athletes for Barstool Sports podcasts, but he recently turned down the chance to work with Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham. Cunningham, who has seen her fame skyrocket after teaming up with Caitlin Clark, recently announced a new podcast alongside Complex producer and 'Summer House' reality star West Wilson. And while Portnoy had the pair record a test episode for his company, the show ultimately landed at Colin Cowherd's 'The Volume' network after the Barstool boss felt his business was 'getting screwed' in negotiations. 'It wasn't so much her, any time I have to deal with agents, it's hard,' he revealed on 'The Unnamed Show.' 'I really thought we would be carrying so much of the weight, marketing, all this s***, and her focus wasn't going to be the podcast. It was just one amongst 9,000 things she was doing. And so it felt like we were getting screwed.' Portnoy added that the deal was nearly signed before he ultimately walked away. Dave Portnoy just revealed that he actually passed on Sophie Cunningham and West Wilson's new podcast. 🫖 — Page Six (@PageSix) August 4, 2025 'So now, I like her but I'm kind of rooting against her,' he said. After joining the Fever this offseason and teaming up with Clark, Cunningham has seen her fame rise massively, topping one million followers each on TikTok and Instagram and scoring an endorsement deal with Arby's of late. However, Portnoy revealed on 'Unnamed' that Cunningham wasn't the only athlete he recently passed on. He shared to co-hosts Ryan Whitney and Kirk Minihane that he was in talks to add a hockey show with NHL star brothers Brady and Matthew Tkachuk. Former NHL player Whitney, though, already hosts Barstool's hit hockey show 'Spittin Chiclets' alongside fellow ex-player Paul Bissonnette, and Portnoy ultimately decided not to go into business with the Tkachuks. 'Chiclets is huge, the No. 1 hockey podcast,' he said on 'Unnamed,' as reported by Awful Announcing. 'Is it like this enormous cash cow like [Pardon My Take']? 'No…Hockey isn't football. It just isn't. You don't have the advertising coming into it… If it was a football podcast, I'll keep adding football because advertisers can't get enough. Give me football. They're dying to spend on football. You don't have that in hockey.' He later continued: 'It's going to be a lot of stress in my life to not make a lot of money, but just have a cool podcast. At this point, is it worth it? And in the end, I don't think it is. It's just going to add f***ing a ton of stress.' Brady and Matthew, of the Senators and Panthers respectively, are both multi-time All-Stars but Portnoy evidently didn't think they would be a good enough investment for his company. Barstool already has (separate) shows with basketball player Patrick Beverley and former NFL star Arian Foster. The popular 'Bussin with the Boys' podcast, hosted by ex-NFL players Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, was also previously part of the Barstool network before departing the company in January.

Britney Spears shows off painful sunburn in a bright pink bikini

Britney Spears spent too much time in the sun and as a result got a nasty sunburn. The singer, 43, who nearly lost her eyebrows several months ago, shared some photos on social media Monday in which her usually fair skin was a bright as her pink string bikini. The Circus singer posed provocatively, pulling down one side of her bottoms, indicating she had been laying out in the nude as there were no tan lines. Her long, blond hair was styled away from her face in messy waves and she wore camera ready makeup with a red lip. The Oops!... I Did It Again singer was barefoot, but wore a thick black choker around her neck. The Billboard Music Award winner shared a cheeky snap of her bottom in a side shot which clearly showed the change in her skin tone. The photos were posted without comment and have since been deleted from her Instagram account. Spears, who has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, allegedly had an outburst after she was prevented from lighting a cigarette on a public charter fright from San Lucas, Mexico to Los Angeles in May. Police bodycam footage obtained by Entertainment Tonight shows the pop diva peacefully deplaning in LA without incident. In the video, a police officer can be heard saying she 'didn't take her meds,' but no further action was taken. In July Spears told her fans in a social media post she had ' adopted a beautiful baby girl' named Lennon London Spears, which turned out to be a joke. An insider told Daily Mail she was simply 'trying to be funny' and garner a reaction. 'Britney was just having fun when she announced that she would be adopting a girl,' our source confirmed. 'She did it for a laugh, she isn't adopting a daughter, and it also doesn't mean anything else like her getting a dog. She was just trying to be funny and see who would bite.' The hitmaker is reportedly working on her relationship with her son Jayden, 18, with whom she has recently reunited. She shares the teen and his brother Sean Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. ''Jayden is her rock right now and if there was ever anything that broke this bond Britney would be crushed,' the insider said. 'He is all she talks about. She is helping his career and providing for him financially. He is living large now.' In the past, Jayden, has admitted to being embarrassed by his mother's social media posts. 'It's like almost as if she has to put something on Instagram to get attention,' he told ITV in 2022. 'This has gone on for years and years and years, and there's a high chance that this is never going to really stop, but I'm hoping for me, maybe she will.'

Shannen Doherty's Malibu mansion is listed for $10M... a year after she died from cancer

Shannen Doherty 's private estate is selling her Malibu mansion a year after she died from cancer. The impressive coastal property with views of the Pacific Ocean is being offered at $9,450,000. According to TMZ, the Charmed actress had this house for about 20 years before she passed away in July 2024. The home - which is being represented by Chris Cortazzo of Compass - is roomy with 5,400 square feet. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms. And there is a rectangular swimming pool surrounded by a lush lawn and diverse landscaping with mature trees. There was also plenty of privacy on the property which is located up the hill from the beach. It was remodeled after the 2018 Woolsey Fire even though it did not get damaged, it only suffered from the smoke. Doherty's name was in the press in April when her birthday came around. Her close friend Sarah Michelle Gellar celebrated Doherty's birthday by revealing their yearly 'tradition.' The TV star passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 53, following a battle with breast cancer that had spread to her brain and bones. And on what would have been Shannen's 54th birthday, Sarah Michelle revealed the pair always had a joint celebration as the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star's birthday is two days later. Alongside a picture and video of Shannen from their final celebration last year, Sarah Michelle shared on Instagram: 'For as long as I can remember, we have celebrated our birthdays together @theshando. 'This year I will keep that tradition, and celebrate you. I am so glad we were all together on this day last year, not knowing it would be the last like this. Happy Birthday Shannen.' Shannen's fellow Charmed alumni Rose McGowan, 51, also marked her heavenly birthday, writing on her Instagram Stories: 'Happy Birthday Shannen Doherty. 'You are missed, you are loved @theshando.' Following Shannen's death, heartbroken Sarah Michelle penned: 'How do you possibly find the right words to sum up 30 years of friendship? 'I keep reminding myself it only hurts this much because, there was so much love.' Rose also paid a touching tribute, writing: 'Getting to really know her later in life, a beautiful gift. This woman fought to live. 'Our lives had been intertwined in a unique way. We laughed at dark forces who wanted us to hate each other, instead we chose love and respect. A soft-hearted badass as there ever was. A force of energy that will live forever in hearts.' Shannen - who was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2020 - was surrounded by her loved ones and beloved dog, Bowie, upon her death, her publicist Leslie Sloane shared. She told People: 'It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. 'The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.'
