Fiery EastEnders feud reignites as two major characters go to war

Metro3 days ago

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) are set to go to war again in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
The pair haven't exactly been besties in the past, given both of their history with George Knight (Colin Salmon), and it is him that is set to cause further friction between them.
With Cindy currently persona non grata among the family, George reaches out to her in upcoming scenes with a plan to get them back on side.
However, it quickly becomes clear that Elaine isn't impressed by his interference.
Cindy is left disappointed when she learns that Gina and Anna Knight (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) won't be attending the relaunch of The Albert, but things get worse when she realises how low ticket sales are.
Heading out to the Square with Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) to drum up sales, Cindy soon finds herself embroiled in an argument with Elaine.
Determined to out-do her rival, Elaine organises a karaoke night at the Vic on the same day as the relaunch, leaving Cindy frustrated.
Unfortunately, Elaine's karaoke night is the least of Cindy's worries when Felix, Freddie and the rest of the staff walk out, realising they haven't been paid.
Noticing her struggling, Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) offers to help out, but soon George steps up instead.
George's efforts leave Gina incredulous, but she soon relents and agrees to help when she sees how hard her mum is trying.
At the Vic, Elaine celebrates with Freddie and Felix as news of Cindy's failure reaches them.
However, the tables soon turn, and when the karaoke party ends up being a flop, Elaine is furious to learn how successful Cindy's relaunch party has become. More Trending
Against George's advice, Elaine decides to attend the party, and Cindy takes the opportunity to gloat about how George helped her, riling Elaine up even further.
As Elaine causes a scene before sniping at George, he leaves her behind to apologise to Cindy.

EastEnders legend Ross Kemp refuses to rule out return

The 60-year-old returned to EastEnders as Grant Mitchell after almost 10 years away earlier this year. His character arrived back on the Square to help his brother Phil with his mental health problems. Grant recently left Walford again for his home in Portugal. 🏆🥳 WINNER! 🥳🏆 What a year and what an honour to be crowned Best British Soap at The British @SoapAwards 2025 by the people who matter the most - YOU! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who voted! Lots of love, your #EastEnders family. #TheBritishSoapAwards @BBC @BBCOne @BBCiPlayer — BBC EastEnders (@bbceastenders) May 31, 2025 Speaking on Loose Women, Kemp said he owes the BBC soap 'a great debt' for giving him a career in television. Asked whether he would return to the role of Grant again, Kemp said: 'You just don't know, do you? You don't know what's in the minds of the people who work on it. 'I've also (always) known that without it, I wouldn't have had the career that I've had, I've always owed it a great debt and it was very good to me, and hopefully I was good to it, and why not keep it that way? 'I've always believed that you should leave doors swinging rather than shut them.' Kemp, who went on to produce a number of documentaries since first leaving EastEnders in 1999 including Ross Kemp On Gangs, Ross Kemp In Afghanistan and Ross Kemp: Extreme World, said he enjoyed returning to the soap. He explained: 'It was so wonderful to jump into Grant's leather jacket again, which I can still get in. EastEnders' top 5 villains 'It's a family, it's an ongoing thing, and I'm talking about the past, and they're really busy doing their own thing, I just parachute in, and I exit generally by the tube station. 'But they've got to be welcoming, because it's like a high-speed train, you've got to jump on it at the right time or you miss it. 'So luckily, Steve McFadden (who plays Phil), and Paul Bradley (who plays Nigel Bates), and Letitia (Dean, who plays Sharon Watts) opened the door for me, and it was like going back home, and it was great.' Are Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden friends? Their brotherly love on-screen may have been tested over the years, but in real life Kemp and actor McFadden share a close relationship. 'We've [McFadden and I] always remained friends, but, yeah, we are more in touch since I've gone back for the 40th anniversary,' Kemp told The Mirror earlier this year. 'Steve is a fine actor and I don't think soap actors get recognised for how good they are.' Recommended reading: Kemp began on the soap in 1990, and his previous appearance prior to his 2025 return, in 2016, marked his on-screen mother Dame Barbara Windsor's final episode as Peggy Mitchell. Where does Ross Kemp live? Kemp lives in the picturesque Thames-side village of Cookham in Berkshire. He is well known within the community and has openly spoken about how he frequently visits nearby Marlow's restaurants.

He was just four, and his EastEnders actor brother Bobby five, when their mother Jade Goody died from cervical cancer in 2009. The Big Brother legend passed away at the age of 27 with the two boys then raised by their dad. Jackiey and Jeff have clashed several times over the years before The Sun on Sunday revealed that the former Dancing on Ice contestant had taken legal action following concerns for his son's wellbeing. Now it appears the spat may have deeper implications. After Bobby turned 22 on June 2, a source told us: "Bobby celebrated his birthday with dad Jeff and step mum Kate over the weekend. 'It was a really nice family occasion but everyone really missed Freddie. "He was of course invited but he is making his feelings quite clear at the moment about who he wants to be spending time with. 'He did acknowledge that Bobby's birthday online but there was some sadness that he wasn't there with his brother.' Freddy Brazier defies dad Jeff to post new TikTok with nan Jackiey after legal action and 'weed smoking' row The Sun has gone for comment. It came shortly after Freddy appeared to take a swipe at Jeff and said: "Home is where the heart is." TIME WITH JACKIEY Earlier this week, we reported how the pair were captured in a dance video. In the clip shared on TikTok, a shirtless Freddy and his grandmother can be seen dancing around in the garden of her South London home. Inside Bobby Brazier's burgeoning TV career Bobby Brazier has risen through the ranks to become a well known face on British TV. As the son of Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier, he has been well-known amongst the public from a young age. Bobby first embarked on a showbiz career when he was just 16-years old when he started modelling. The star made his catwalk debut in 2020 at Milan Fashion Week, but it wasn't long before he had his eyes on a TV career. He shot to prominence in 2022 when he was cast as Freddie Slater in EastEnders. The incredibly acting skills displayed on screen earned him the National Television Award in the 'Rising Star' category. His famous dad was in tears as Bobby accepted the award on stage in front of the likes of Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond. It wasn't long before BBC bosses wanted him to take part in the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing. He clearly impressed the viewers with his dancing skills as he made the grand final and was a runner-up. Since then, viewers were delighted when he returned to his role in the long-running BBC One soap. The star simply captioned the post with hashtags, writing: '#fyp #explore #freddybrazier #jackieybudden #dancetrend.' Now Freddie has returned to the platform today with Jackiey in a slideshow video captioned: "Why don't we fall in love." He uploaded a series of individual images against the backing track to Amerie's song of the same name. It kicked off with an image showing him and Jackiey, who was donning a black vest top and cargo trousers rolled up to the knee, walking down a cobbled London street. Further snaps included ones showing him lying on the grass with a dog and playing football. LEGAL ACTION The new video comes as Freddy's TV presenter dad Jeff Brazier, 46, recently launched legal action to block Jackiey, 68, from seeing him. Despite trying to keep the duo apart, The Mail reports that Freddy spent the last week with his grandmother at her home in Bermondsey. A source told the publication: "Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long – they've always had a strong bond. "Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much. "They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat – where he has often stayed over the years. "Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked." 7 Freddy has been filming TikTok videos with his gran Credit: Tiktok 7 Bobby celebrated turning 22 with dad Jeff and partner Kate Credit: Getty

EastEnders actor 'shuts down' critics after BBC castmates are BOOED at Soap Awards - revealing what really happened at star-studded bash

EastEnders actor Colin Salmon has 'shut down' critics after some of his co-stars were apparently BOOED at the Soap Awards over the weekend. On Saturday night (May 31 2025), the stars of the UK's much-loved soaps gathered at the Hackney Empire in London to attend the annual star-studded bash. And it saw EastEnders stars Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter, who play Patrick and Yolande Trueman, won Best On-Screen Partnership on the night. Some fans have taken to social media and a forum to discuss how they had apparently heard that the pair had been booed on stage as they received their gong. So Colin, who plays George Knight in EastEnders, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal exactly what happened. Colin said: 'Just want to clarify; No one was booing Rudi and Angela at the@SoapAwards we were singing RUUUDI , RUUUDI , RUUUDI. 'Which obviously confused some people. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Some fans have taken to social media and a forum to discuss how Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter (pictured) had been booed on stage as they received their gong 'Appreciate some were concerned, as we should be, but it's all good.' '#NoDrama#WeLovePatrickandYolande @bbceastenders.' One fan wrote on Walford Web forum: 'Been hearing that Swarla fans were booing Rudolph and Angela as they went on stage. F**king sickening.' 'Can't believe Swarla fans or whatever they're called booing Angela and Rudolph and them having to do a retake on their award. Disgusting.' Another added: 'There are some tweets going about saying they were booing but now seeing mixed reports saying there was no booing.' Many fans replied to his tweet to share their thanks. One said: 'Thanks for clarifying, especially as some of us Corrie fans, who were cheering just as hard for the win, were being blamed for the non-existent booing.' 'but thank you for clarifying that down on the floor where y'all were, everyone was cheering. that's lovely to hear, congrats to you all.' Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter, who play Patrick and Yolande Trueman, (pictured) won Best On-Screen Partnership on the night 'Thankyou for shutting the rumours down Colin xx.' EastEnders left its rivals in the dust as the show took home eight gongs at the British Soap Awards. Meanwhile Hollyoaks received three, Emmerdale two and Coronation Street only got one. They kicked off their wins with Best Episode which went to Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. EastEnders also won Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' Shock Return while Navin Chowdhry won Best Villain for his role of Nish Panesar.
