All EastEnders spoilers for next week as popular couple's big day is ruined

Kat and Alfie's big day arrives in EastEnders next week, but worries about Tommy threaten to derail the celebrations before they even begin. As doubts creep in and tensions boil over, the couple are forced to confront the cracks in their relationship, leading Kat to make a bold decision that leaves Alfie reeling. Meanwhile, it's not just Kat and Alfie facing romantic turmoil. Yolande and Patrick's relationship hits rocky ground, Elaine reflects on her love life over drinks with the girls, and Joel's influence over Tommy takes a troubling turn… Here's a first look at next week in Walford with our new spoilers! Tensions are high at The Vic as Elaine struggles to contain her jealousy over George helping Cindy at The Albert. Just as the ice begins to thaw and Elaine surprises George with a gift honouring his boxing career, the peace is soon shattered when Junior bursts in and reveals that George secretly visited his mother, Sabrina, on Christmas night. George admits Sabrina kissed him, but insists he pulled away. Heartbroken by yet another lie, Elaine throws him out. George goes in search of Junior but instead finds Cindy, who offers a shoulder to cry on. Later, Elaine decides to find George but she's crushed to spot him and Cindy hugging on The Albert's balcony. Meanwhile, Kat is shaken after discovering an explicit video on Alfie's laptop still unaware that Tommy is actually the one who bought it. She decides to confide in Jean, fearing that Alfie's been turning to adult content as their bedroom life has been quiet since his cancer treatment. Later, Alfie plans a romantic dinner, but Kat decides to attempt to seduce him instead.. Caught off-guard, Alfie gently tries to slow things down, leaving Kat hurt, and she storms out. Vicki is left reeling when Amy reveals the real reason Joel is being iced out, confirming that Joel shamed Avani after sleeping with her, and now she's a victim of online bullying. Elsewhere, Yolande feels rejected when Patrick dodges giving her a massage, and Kim is left fuming as her plans for Kat and Alfie's big day aren't going to plan. After a tense night, Elaine takes a breather at the café to collect her thoughts. But things go from bad to worse when she returns to The Albert and Felix drops the bombshell that George and Cindy were seen leaving together, looking very cosy. Reeling, Elaine makes a mysterious phone call, inviting someone to join her. As she waits, a punter named Stephen tries his luck chatting her up, but he's swiftly put in his place when Drew Peacock arrives. Drew gives Elaine a much-needed pep talk. Inspired by his words, she makes a shocking decision that could change everything. Meanwhile, Kat is struggling to make sense of everything, with Jean urging her to talk openly with Alfie. At the same time, Patrick gives Alfie a nudge in the same direction. Eventually, Kat and Alfie sit down for an honest heart-to-heart and begin to bridge the distance between them. But when Kat brings up the explicit video she found on Alfie's laptop, he's baffled until it dawns on him that it must have been Tommy who bought it. Elsewhere, Vicki confides in Ross about Joel's behaviour toward Avani, and they both agree he needs better role models. Later, they're encouraged to see Joel helping Tommy with his wedding speech, hopeful that the budding friendship could steer him in a better direction. And over at No.20, Yolande opens up to Denise about her strained relationship with Patrick, admitting her fear that things between them may never go back to how they once were. It's the big day for Kat and Alfie, but worries about Tommy threaten to cast a dark cloud over their wedding celebrations. Alfie vows to have a serious talk with Tommy, but a string of unexpected setbacks keeps getting in the way, so Kat takes matters into her own hands. Later, Alfie admits he's made a mess of several important wedding preparations, leaving Kat feeling unsure, and she drops a bombshell… the wedding is off. Meanwhile, Denise steps in to support Yolande and Patrick as they navigate the rocky waters of their relationship. Elsewhere, Joel extends an invitation for Tommy to come over after the wedding. Kat's decision leaves Alfie crushed and furious, and he storms out of The Vic. Meanwhile, Elaine, Yolande, and Kat gather for a drink, comparing relationship problems, until Elaine drops some hard truths that shock them all. More Trending Alfie, meanwhile, receives an unexpected pep talk as he wrestles with whether he and Kat can get past this. Kat and Alfie finally sit down to talk. Could the wedding still be on? Elsewhere, Patrick fights for Yolande's heart with a heartfelt grand gesture, while Joel shows Tommy a social media influencer who says derogatory things about women. Fiery EastEnders feud reignites as two major characters go to war

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) are set to go to war again in upcoming EastEnders scenes. The pair haven't exactly been besties in the past, given both of their history with George Knight (Colin Salmon), and it is him that is set to cause further friction between them. With Cindy currently persona non grata among the family, George reaches out to her in upcoming scenes with a plan to get them back on side. However, it quickly becomes clear that Elaine isn't impressed by his interference. Cindy is left disappointed when she learns that Gina and Anna Knight (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) won't be attending the relaunch of The Albert, but things get worse when she realises how low ticket sales are. Heading out to the Square with Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) to drum up sales, Cindy soon finds herself embroiled in an argument with Elaine. Determined to out-do her rival, Elaine organises a karaoke night at the Vic on the same day as the relaunch, leaving Cindy frustrated. Unfortunately, Elaine's karaoke night is the least of Cindy's worries when Felix, Freddie and the rest of the staff walk out, realising they haven't been paid. Noticing her struggling, Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) offers to help out, but soon George steps up instead. George's efforts leave Gina incredulous, but she soon relents and agrees to help when she sees how hard her mum is trying. At the Vic, Elaine celebrates with Freddie and Felix as news of Cindy's failure reaches them. However, the tables soon turn, and when the karaoke party ends up being a flop, Elaine is furious to learn how successful Cindy's relaunch party has become. More Trending Against George's advice, Elaine decides to attend the party, and Cindy takes the opportunity to gloat about how George helped her, riling Elaine up even further. As Elaine causes a scene before sniping at George, he leaves her behind to apologise to Cindy. View More » What will Elaine make of his betrayal? On Boxing Day in 2015, the town of Hebden Bridge was under water; thousands of homes and businesses were submerged when Storm Eva battered the north of England, causing significant damage in the Calder a new play which depicts the community's efforts to "rebuild their sodden town" opens at Leeds Playhouse, the BBC has been to meet the people affected by "The Flood". "Water was cascading off the hillside and literally rising in the town centre," Andrew Entwistle 81-year-old flood warden had spent the days prior to the storm warning people to brace the water came, he was going to try and lay out sandbags in an attempt to delay the deluge surging through streets, but it was too late."My wheelbarrow was floating down the street," he tells the BBC."Nobody had the flood defences then that we have now."Everywhere you looked there was just water, people were trapped in buildings; it was up to my armpits."It literally climbed up the walls." Evidence of the water levels are still visible in Hebden Bridge 10 years later. In The Albert, a pub which regularly hosts the flood wardens' bi-monthly meetings, a sign marking the depth hangs high on the walls above a chalkboard displaying drinks deals."It was catastrophic, the worst in living memory," Mr Entwistle continues."The water came and it stayed for around 48 hours and we were on our own."There was no electric; everything had gone off, there were no communications, it was so quiet."Mr Entwistle and his wife had just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary when the floods candles left over from their celebrations, he attempted to light the way for the community in the inky darkness. "Everybody rallied round," he adds. Among those to rally was Deborah the owner of The Albert, the 60-year-old was living in nearby Luddenden when Hebden Bridge spent hundreds of pounds on cleaning supplies to help the community when the water finally drained, and opened her back room as a creche."It was the first time I ever saw men cry," Ms Collinge tells the BBC."Two guys told me they saw a lady that had been in the water all day and all night. "It was around her waist and she was just holding her husband's ashes." The Flood, written and directed by Lucie Raine, focuses on the spirit displayed during the Raine had friends and family living in Hebden Bridge and remembers the "apocalyptic" images, taken of places she walked around regularly."The memory is quite powerful, it still touches me."After deciding she would write a play about the events that unfolded, Ms Raine began chatting to anyone she could. "What was unusual was the amount of pride people had; they immediately talked about what happened afterwards, the way they came together."People waded through sludge to make sure others got groceries."The Flood has been described as "a love letter to the town that refused to give in to the volatility of nature". Walk around Hebden Bridge today and evidence of that defiant spirit can still be in plain sight along almost every door and window are brackets that floodgates can be attached to the moment a flood alert escalates to an urgent shops have signs which can transform into barriers, others have valuable goods and electrics raised more than a metre from the could be mistaken as decorative cladding in The Albert can be turned into shelving strong enough to hold detachable table tops and stores have replaced carpets with hard materials such as wood or stone so mud and mess left behind by the water can be swilled away. Having endured six major floods since 2000, for people in Hebden Bridge, preparation is part of every day adds Mr Entwistle, no lives have been lost to the flooding, but living under the threat of heavy rain has taken its toll on the community."The records that people had, photographs, ashes, mementoes; they all disappeared."People's lovely possessions were contaminated; they're all gone and irreplaceable."He has since experienced PTSD since the 2015 flooding and says the anxiety in the town is "palpable" during heavy Entwistle hopes the play can teach people how "massive" the impacts of a flood are. "Talking about it sends shivers down my spine."It eats into your soul, we live on a knife-edge."The Flood is touring theatres in Yorkshire and the north, including Leeds Playhouse and the Hebden Bridge Little Theatre until 17 May.
